@moto - I sent Arya with some new blades. Hope it helps!

Thank you!!!! :wizard: Just turned the game off though... was supposed to be in bed half an hour ago. But just as I enter that place where you first meet Barroch (sp?), a freaking drake appears. I mean, he looks and acts just like a drake... BUT IT TOOK HALF AN HOUR TO KILL HIM. My fingers hurt ._.

And this is with my Arisen as MA and three ranger pawns. I mean, really. :?

p.s. I hope Arya can appreciate that her precious Arisen is running around in thigh highs, bangles, and boots so that he can dragonforge them for her.

I have just come back from a short break and noticed that Shinon looked different! I did use Shinon Jr for a bit. Such a different pawn from infinity Shinon.

I used pawns nearer to my level of 68 (I mean they were still higher than me) and got as far as the flaming room in BBI and a dragon/wyvern showed up, but I didn't make much of an impact, plus I only had one wakestone, so hotfooted it out of there.

I was playing as a level 4 ranger (as trying to max out all the vocations). But really struggled, so went to bed. BBI is soooo challenging and hard. I think I'm going to need a ton of wakestones!

Yeah, there will always be a dragon (+ hellhounds, gargoyles, etc.) in Duskmoon Tower, once you beat vanilla Daimon. It's my location of choice for dragonforging. If whichever dragon that's in there doesn't forge all of your stuff, drop a Rancid Bait Meat on the ground, in the center of the area, and you'll get a Cursed Dragon. Those are the most reliable for forging, imho.

Sometimes I just go there to get my stuff forged, then head right into the Midnight Helix for the two level 3 chests.

And don't feel too bad. My first Cursed Dragon took me an hour, my first time through BBI. Mostly because it was in the Midnight Helix, and I spent the whole time sniping from the side room, doing a sliver of damage, while my pawns just walked around, all nonchalant.  Drakes still take me a while, even with a higher level character, but everything else is cake. It will get better, I promise. Especially once you start focusing on Godsbaning level 3 chests (you'll have the best gear).

That sounds like The Pilgrim's Gauntlet, and I'm guessing it was a Cursed Dragon that showed up.

I've found that (for me at least), I'm better off not going into BBI without a vocation that's maxed. If it's close, great, but any time I've tried going in with a level 1-4 of something, I feel completely ineffective. The skills and augments for that n00b vocation are crap, and it takes a while to get used to different weapons/skills, etc. for the new vocation.

Plus, it takes forever to level up vocations in BBI. I'd recommend going out into vanilla Gransys and killing a lot of goblins. Or do the Noble Quarter trick (post game), with the perma-spawning soldiers.

I'll send you some Wakestones tonight to help out. I typically carry 4-5 around at any time in BBI, just to be safe. Along with a couple of Lordly Tonics and Auspicious Incenses.

I'd also recommend using higher-level support pawns. BBI is no joke. Posted Image

^^ Tell me about it! Thanks for the advice.

Yes, it was the Pilgrim's Gauntlet. Do you think the dragon will come back? I need to do a bit of dragonforging. I am maxed out as a MA and nearly as a sorcerer, do you think that would help?

I will make a trip to Gransys to max out other vocations. I need to build up my Arisen's strength as he has been a bit magic heavy.

I'm not sure the Cursed Dragon will still be there when you go back to it. If you head out into Gransys beforehand, it probably won't be, as time will pass.

Personally, I'd recommend MA in BBI, over Sorcerer. There are lots of flying enemies, and sometimes you don't have the time to wait for spells to charge up. While you're standing there, incapacitated, you are vulnerable to damage. Being mobile, (and at range), and killing enemies fast is key. I usually roll with an all-Archer squad (my Arisen as MA), for that purpose.

As a MA, it's good that your magick is high. That helps with your magick damage and resistance. I typically apply magick-enhancing augments as a MA, like Acuity.

My Arisen is very magick heavy and does pretty okay. He is a MA, and he's tiny, so he's SUPER FAST. Lots of running and ducking and jumping while the pawns are busy kicking *ss. He has high stamina, too. I played as a sorcerer for 10-20 levels, so his magick is very high... it is NOTICEABLE now as MA. Before my stint as a sorcerer, my magick arrows were crap. Now they do serious damage!!!

I recommend bringing Chase, Shinon, Briana, and when she comes back, Gabs with you. Arya hopes to some day be included in that list, but not yet, dear *pats her hand* :P I haven't tried Woolie in BBI... is he good?? I know he's awesome and a bad *ss sorcerer, but it DOES take so long to cast spells. But I had Kurt's Aeden with me the other day, and he did some serious damage in the Everfall.

What was so upsetting is that I entered that area expecting a breather, because it had been so peaceful and calm before this... so the drake was just a shock. And the stupid hell hounds made my life difficult; I had to kill them first before I could focus on the drake. The pawns were just running around shooting at the drake, and the hell hounds would blast them. Stupid pawns *grumbles* !!!

Ahaha I'm not brave enough yet to drop some rancid meat!!  The drake did forge two items for me. Arya's ranger outfit is gonna be super cool once I get everything dragonforged. Color schemes will be black and silver. YES COLOR SCHEME IS IMPORTANT. One can be fashionable while killing monsters, you know! And a little hint of sex appeal, as there are some leggings and thigh-high boots that leave the upper thigh exposed... I swear my Arisen looks like a street walker on West Hollywood right now. No wonder he has a perpetually grumpy face.

I know we've mentioned dragons in the Duskmoon Tower area, but it probably didn't click until you encountered them yourself, eh? Posted Image

The BBI location names are a bit much to try to remember. I still have to look them up at times. Most I know now, after how many hours I've spent there, but still. I totally understand the confusion. And compound to that the fact that each area has some very similar layouts.

Aww, you can fight a Cursed Dragon, no problem! The biggest thing is to pay attention to his actions, and learn what each thing means.

The easiest way to avoid getting poisoned, and to do the most damage (for me), is to just run over to him, and jump/grab on his heart. Make sure you have lots of Pyrepipe or other Stamina curatives, and go to town. When he does his poison gas balls, you should be able to stay on, without being poisoned, as you're out of the line of fire. He might swat you off from time to time, but if you're Hundred/Thousand Kissing him while you're on his heart, he'll be dead in no time.

I think Wyverns are the easiest of all the dragons. I'm always happy when I see them. I noticed when I was a Sorcerer that you can ground them by casting Ingle at their heads. There are probably other ways, too, but that just happened to be one I tried that worked well.

Thanks for the advice guys. Much appreciated (I do need it)!

I shall try as an MA for a little while in the BBI (for the experience) and will check in on the BBI dream team! I will have a stint in Gransys at some point as a Ranger and Strider, as I need to build those vocations up a bit. Got to practice my archery skills.

MMG - I currently have Arya in my group at the moment. She's looking good! Good to have a bit of colour co-ordination (but not always easy looking at the diverse range of stuff you can get). I mean the Mistletoe Circlet, great stats but never really seems to match anything (and could have your eye out)!

^ And the Mistletoe Circlet is bad luck. That right there is wisdom from Carcharoth, and I'd agree. Any time someone is wearing that circlet, they meet their doom, or something goes terribly wrong. Coincidence? Maybe.

And you'll poke your eye out, (wo)man. Posted Image

I have seven or eight as far as I can recall, but it may end up being a rock if I gift it. I'll send one anyway.

Or your pawn will gore you as you try to climb a ladder.

Dai: This is how we dance in Cassardis.
Arya: Oh, Master! Let me join you!
Chase: ...He's kind of weird.
Shinon: They're both weird.

^ You just have to go talk to Olra, and choose "Online Store". Then you'll see options for downloading DLC Armor Pack previews. They're free. Once downloaded, you'll have to return to the main menu, then load your game to activate the previews.

Aieeee I thought as much; every time I select "Online Store" though I get a loading screen.... and nothing ever happens; it just stays loading. :pinched:

Yeah, not the fastest thing in the world, is it? It should load eventually, but a little patience might be required. I'm not sure what to suggest to make it load faster.

Okay, I'll try for patience. Maybe get up and fix myself a cup of tea while it loads

And I just killed a wyvern (you're right, they're soooo easy... although why can't the pawns figure out that when it goes down, you run up and stab it in the heart?!) in Duskmoon Tower (<--scrolled up and copy/pasted from your post haha). And... hopped up on some ledges and discovered a new door! Woohoo!

Dragonwing Circlet quest can wait whilst I explore this place :wizard:

^ They also can't figure out to take Harspud Juice/Sauce/Milk when they're near-death. They're not the brightest bulbs in the marquee, but I adore them.

Yeah, they packed a lot of stuff into that one place, didn't they? It took me a bit to figure out where all the doors were, in the beginning. You kind of just have to stop and look up once in awhile. Hehe.

Okay, work is mostly finished for the day (and mod work on the side...shhhh). Now it's time to play catch up. ;)

@newschmoo - I am a big fan of using higher level pawns. When I exchanged my gamertag with a fellow player for the first time, I was so excited to have her infinity level Ranger at my disposal. One big bonus to the higher pawns, was I became much bolder at trying things. Feeling like I had more support made me more adventurous, and in the end, made me a better player. At least, that's what I got out of it. Still, you should play as you wish to play. :)

@motomoto - Your welcome. ;)

@happy - I too have an extra vile wakestone. So if Shep's gift doesn't make it through, let me know. I kept getting those to drop from AD, but no lvl.3 cursed items. I do like getting craft items, but when I have been coveting those damnable Framae blades, forever and a day, and have yet to score a pair.......let's just say my language is colorful. :P XD

@Shepen - Shinon, the "Chest-Burster". :D

I have never worn the unicorn horn, nor has Chase. Everytime I put it on one of us, I just can't stop pinching the bridge of my nose. >.< heh!

I have new pics from last night....will upload shortly.

Ulee and Gabs have the same "beauty mark" scar. Love it! Posted Image

I actually did that with Selene first, then Gabs later. I forgot about it until I picked up that run, and started playing it again.

I'm even more predictable than I'd ever imagined.

You still don't have Framae Blades? I just got my second pair for Selene last night. Posted Image The Blackwing Bow has been elusive in this playthrough, though. I had like 5 or 6 of them in my other run.
