When my pawn is a sorcerer, high bolide, high gicel, high seism, voidspell and two afiinities, usually holy and thunder. My pawns have more patience than I do to stand in one spot and cast.

High Gicel is just the shizzle. EDIT: Though I wonder if it's pointless to have both Frigor and Gicel.
I have to do Maelstrom; it has saved my ass on soooo many occasions. It also lasts for so long that he's already powering up another spell by the time maelstrom ends.

So after staring blankly at my TV for five minutes I had to resign myself to the fact that I would not be playing any DD:DA tonight *cries*
And I had my BBI map pulled up and EVERYTHING!!!

Every time I tried to load my last save, it crashed. I played for a little while on a slightly older save, realized I didn't want to play all that stuff through again, so I went back to the dashboard.
I gave Dishonored a shot, as I borrowed it from my brother ages ago (more like he said, "PLAY THIS" and threw it at me). I kept telling him it never really interested me but he refused to listen. I fired it up and confirmed what I already knew - it doesn't interest me. Uninstall, back in box...
I then looked through my achievement list and noticed I'd pretty much instantly ditched Dynasty Warriors 8 after I bought it, so I picked that up again. I used to be able to play these games for hours on end. I can't anymore, I love the source material, but... DW isn't really known for being accurate in that regard, It's just gotten too... silly. Maybe it's just because I'm older, I dunno.
Tomorrow night, DD. Shinon doesn't seem to function well without the guidance of his master.

Daggers, buddy. You have daggers.

No, that's not how you... oh, never mind.

So much good loot, new enemies, new side story, and you have pawns at your disposal who have spent a good amount of time there. In fact, I believe that both Shepen and I have taken Val to BBI. She should already have some experience/knowledge under her belt.
(oh, and we have another test build being released on either Sunday or Monday....if the spirit moves ya.)
@Shepen - Maybe the monocle is messin' with Shinon's vision. XD
I read you on the "playing" other games, and getting bored. Even DD will do that to me at times. But I favor DD because it feels okay to step away from for a bit, then come back to it later. It's well suited for that type of game play, if a persons time gets crunched.

EDIT: On playing other games, I should really try to "finish" Skyrim. And yeah I know you don't "finish" Skyrim, but I should at least complete the main quest (the Dragonborn thing) and pick my side... in the war I don't give a flying sh@t about lol

I will fire up DD tonight (have been distracted by Assassin's Creed). I am having trouble with two blue glowing things with big swords and shields in the Catacombs doing the Salvation quest (I'm sure I never encountered them first time around). They keep killing everyone with one hit!

@Newschmoo - those are Living Armor. You probably accidentally activated the quest from a BBI notice board. They aren't normally in the Catacombs, until you accept that quest. Anyway, you really have to hit them from behind, and it behooves you to have an enchanted weapon. Once their lives get down to about half, you can't use basic (non-enchanted) melee on them anymore.

@newschmoo - If you want to take down those two Living Armors fast, go grab Woolie, or switch Thomas back to Sorcerer. You go in as an MA, and just start shooting off round after round of Ricochet.
If you don't want to change Thomas from Ranger, do you still have the Heaven's Keys? (they are the daggers that are Holy Enchanted). Slap those on Thomas; they will help. Woolie can make pretty short work of LA's and you can learn which spells and enchantments work best against them. Valkerie fought those with me last time, and she did a superb job using Dwells in Light (Holy enchanted two hander). Even just you as an MA using Ricochet, and putting the Heaven's Keys on Thomas, will be a huge help.

Sixfold/Ninefold bolt also makes quick work of Living Armors, they automatically go for the vulnerable bits without you having to go behind them. But if you're in the catacombs, the closed-in areas would probably lend themselves better to Ricochet, like Coldi suggested. I think Sixfold/Ninefold has a shorter cast time, but I'm not sure.
I always use ricochet. But then, I'm kind of addicted to ricochet...
I wish Seel were a stronger sorcerer

Ricochet hunter, ninefold are great for Living Armors. My favorite way is since I like playing as an Assassin is Masterful Kill, then when you get behind and Mighty Bend or Hundred kisses them to death while the others flail on them.motomotogirl wrote...

@MMG - Seel's great and is very useful
And I must confess I have not touched the Assassin vocation yet. But one day!
I want to play a Khajiit in Skyrim, but I know that I should progress more with my Altmer. She so Amazonian and tough. Maybe I should alternate. Khajiits are soooo cute!

Thanks for the advice guys! I think I will have to switch Arthur back to a MA (which is his favourite vocation). And I do have some Heaven's Keys. Bonus!

I steered clear of the Assassin vocation myself, for a very long time. I think it was Coldi that convinced me to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised by it. You should give it a shot. The archery is especially useful if you're using Dragon's Ire, or some other enchanted short bow.

Aww thank you ^///^ But I do know for a fact that he's not so great with the Living Armor just yet. Maybe I just need to find the right spell combinations for him. I'm still researching that. It's hard to decide what spells to assign for a mid-level sorcerer. Luckily, he is a very powerful sorcerer for his level because he's pretty much only done that vocation. When he uses Heaven's Key as a strider/ranger, WOW, those have a hella lethal magick score lol

Rohan was an assassin for about the first 40 levels, but I wasn't sure if it was a great vocation for a starting Arisen. Thoughts? He's playing as a ranger now. I notice Seel's magick is mega high, but Rohan's strength is kinda meh.
Regarding Skyrim, it can be hard to make a non-weird, even attractive elf. But I did it

I built Chase quite balanced, and use augments and armor/accessories to increase his strength and magick numbers, depending on the class he is currently playing. Play however you like though...
Oh, and yes! Huge fan of Assassin. In fact, I rarely play anything else, in the Everfall. You can get the Bloodlust augment bonus while playing in the Everfall (increased Strength and helps mitigate damage, while playing at night). You are covered for both melee and ranged, if you so choose. Masterful Kill is a lot of fun, and Powder Blast makes short work of Hydra's. My favorite setup is using a long sword and bow combo. I set Burst Strike, Powder Blast, and Dire Gourge, for my sword skills. I then use a lot of base attacks as well. Take some blast arrows with you, and an enchanted sword, and pretty much everything in the Everfall is dead. LOL!

But...! The Everfall is easy though. How good is assassin in BBI? For a level 70-80 Arisen? (I used the bow and long sword combo, too. It's wicked fun.)
Honestly the only reason I stopped playing assassin is because I missed the double jump!

That's not based solely on vocation; it's based on whether or not you're using daggers.motomotogirl wrote...

Per the wiki:
So if you ditched the long sword, and used daggers with Assassin, you'd have double jump.High Mobility: While wielding daggers, they have access to the dodge roll and double jump skills, and still have access to high levels of stamina and climbing power. This makes them able to easily move about the world and battlefield.

I got curious about BBI...Death is reeeeeally big and we ran really fast. Poor Shinon got stuck at a wall but came out okay. Kinda worried about the chick talking to me in my head...or whatever...about the bummerness of immortality. Totally gonna die.

I just got a sweet message on XBL from a complete stranger:
"I wanted to thank you for Iorveth. He was a great part of our team through 3 times of DD & DA. Triss and Geralt will miss him!"
Aww.
