I dunno who any of those are >.< So far I'm not very good at this game!! 8D lol

It did die down in here a bit. I know I turned the game on for the first time since this weekend today. Just been a super busy and tiring work week. And still got papers to grade before I can go to bed tonight *sigh*

@Shepen - THANNNNNNEEEE!! ......in the first set. Funny thing is, I just did my Thane "inspired" Arisen too. Damn though, I will need to switch to the Dark Lorica (which is actually a fav of mine, and I didn't even bother to try it on my Thane...lol).

Hmmm.....need a bit of think time for those two. But they look great. :D

Will be back shortly, with the new screenies......

So here is the current version of Thane (and @wildannie's new blonde pawn William is next to Arisen "Ulee" Thane in a couple of them). As stated before, they are more Thane inspired....duh. Like they got drells running around Bitterblack. Pfftt! Posted Image

This was my first attempt. I like him, but he just needed something......more. Plus, I had his stance set waaaay to "intimidating". Yeesh! >.<

Will try with a similar outfit to Shepen's Thane. *bloody copycat, that coldi!* Posted ImagePosted Image

I also prefer the green you had going, but I don't seem to have that green. Did you get it from Jonathan, Shep?

Crap. Now I'm spamming the thread.

I believe I figured out the two other characters that @Shepenwepet posted. They are from Onimusha 3: Demon Siege, Jacques and Samanosuke.

Did I win?

Was there ever a reason given why pawns aren't allowed in the Duke's Demesne? I assume the Duke is just paranoid that a pawn could somehow sense his "big secret"?

Awww, poor Shinon :(!

I did have a play on DD last night and you do get a bit rusty when you haven't played it for a few days and keep pressing the buttons for another game you have on the go!

Re pawns being banned from the Duke's Demesne, the Wiki says this (I apologise for the font - it's a copy and paste job) -

"As to why the Duke's pawns are never found, it is speculated that the woman Lenore, whom he sacrificed, was his main pawn, and by sacrificing her he lost the remainder of his soul..this could also explain why the duke has forbidden pawns from entering the castle...for that he will be reminded of the sacrifice he did so long ago against a wyrm that he thought could not best. There is another theory that is slightly more likely, simply that, since Pawns can sense Arisens and are drawn to them, they would be able to sense that the Duke was in fact still an Arisen if they got into close proximity to him, which would reveal the fact that he did not truly slay his generation's Dragon and reclaim his heart, ruining his claim to the throne. Neither of these theories are supported by any in-game evidence, however."

By the way, I didn't know you could make Pawns change colour!

I didn't know his sacrificed pawn's name was Lenore. I guess that's a reference to Poe?

@coldi - I never thought to use pink mutton chops, that works pretty good. I didn't even open the facial hair menu. I should have.

Dark Lorica + Chainmail bracers leaves the upper chest exposed, and the "why does this exist" body wrap actually helps here. I didn't know what to put on his head (I gave him short dark green hair, but it didn't look good) I tried everything from the Apollo Mask (which is gold) to the Dragonwing Circlet to... those lion helms. Nothing looked right, I wasn't expecting anything to, mind you.

And yes, I cleaned out Jonathan's supply of skin pigments, which included that green. I'm still trying to think of a use for the purplish one that isn't Grimace, the giant turd from McDonalds.

I believe I figured out the two other characters that @Shepenwepet posted. They are from Onimusha 3: Demon Siege, Jacques and Samanosuke.

It had Takeshi Kaneshiro AND Jean Reno in one game. I was fangirling all over the place when that came out.

@Newschmoo - I'd looked on the wiki, but I didn't see that. So they don't actually say anything about it in the game, huh... I was also leaning more towards that second theory, as it makes sense.

Was she the name of a character created by Edgar Allan Poe? Must confess to having never read any of his books.

The Raven

Lenore

The fact that his new wife's name is "Aelinore" couldn't have been good for the Duke's already fragile mind.

I never thought of it having anything to do with Poe, and who knows.

What I always thought interesting was the choking scene with the Duke and Aelinore. I noticed the first time I saw it that he specifically said "Lenore". What are the odds of him then marrying someone with such a similar name? Nothing like torturing yourself.

...and ninja'd by Shep. Posted Image

I actually played a couple Onimusha games. I was rubbish and never finished them, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. Of course, this goes back to my whole..."used to have more expendable cash" back then, and games were cheaper. So if you didn't finish, or do terribly well, *shrug*. No big deal. ;)

And yes, big Jean Reno fan too. *nods* :D

Going to let the duke strangle Aelinore this time around, since I never have let him do that yet. Interesting about him saying "Lenore" when doing it. Very bad, bad duke. XD

**EDIT**

So as not to spam thread like I did last night.Posted Image

I just caught Shep's thoughts on 'Grimace' (or as my Greek mother-in-law would say: Greeemouse! Serious fun making her say things that don't translate well from English to Greek. I'm such a meanie. Posted Image)

Also forgot to note how well you really did Shep on recreating Jacques. It really does work.

@newschmoo - I still have Thomas with me, so I haven't sent you back the lvl.3 cursed armor. Been spending waaaay too much time in the CC. lol!

@motomoto - Dai can actually pull that "mantle" off. Same with Val. Chase and Ulee look bloody goofy in that getup. Ulee isn't what one would call "elegant", so she just looks awkward and gangly in it. And Chase...oh brother. It's like he raided his hippie mother's closet. No, no, no. Posted ImagePosted Image

Thank you ^_^ Dai is a majestic sort of cutie. Hey don't rag on Chase and Ulee too much; the pay off for being cute is not being able to carry sh!t. rofl  So at least they are useful, unlike some.... *pushes her tiny Arisen*

EDIT: Oh, OH! I finally used the moonbeam gems and picked up what I've always thought of as "Chase's coat." The red one, you know? I tried to put it on Dai but I just can't wear it because it just... it's CHASE'S coat! LOL

@Shepenwepet - thanks for the Poe links. Interesting about the link to Lenore.

@Happy - I forgot about the Duke in that scene. But it makes me wonder why he would choke Aelinore thinking she was Lenore, if she was his love. I won't get that scene in my current play through because I avoided Aelinore in the garden!

@Coldy - don't worry about Thomas. I got some BBI armour last night, but it just brought up more items I already had when I purified them. This has been happening a lot with BBI items recently. Bit of a pain :-(  I say everyone should spend more time in the CC judging by the lovely screenies on the thread. :)

@MMG - Dai looks cute in that outfit. He has the right build for it.

What I've gathered is that the Duke is completely whackadoodle bonkers. He had to sacrifice his love, (whether or not it was also his pawn we don't know) and this undoubtedly crushed him.

He married Aelinore not out of love but to marry into her bloodline - she's a descendant of Godking Leonart, the first Arisen to kill Grigori. He probably also didn't really want to love her, because if Grigs came around again, the people would probably expect him to go "defeat" the dragon again, which would end up in him sacrificing Aelinore. I don't know if his choking her was more of a "get it over with" type of situation or if he was just crazy - I'm leaning towards crazy myself.

I don't think it would work again. He doesn't love her, so even if Grigori were willing to make another bargain Aelinore likely wouldn't count.

he was just crazy

This is Grigori we're talking about. He thinks half of Gransys is in love with Asalam. ;) You never know, Grigori might think, hey, they're married, that's lurve!

...but like I said before, I'm much more leaning towards Duke Crazy.

Asalam represents your love of time travel and storing loot. Grigori knows this and took him as a stand in since you can't kidnap concepts.

Hi Ronnel. I do have the original game for the PS3, but haven't played on that console in nearly a year. Unfortunately, everyone else here is on xBox, and I currently only play on the xBox (since that is the system I have the expansion - Dark Arisen - on). If I do decide to load up my PS3 version, I will gladly add you.

@Carcharoth - I still love doing that.....getting a lift from a harpy. I bow to the mighty beard of your Arisen, because it is so mighty. *bow*

It would have been a 'tickle me elmo' moment, if I could have flung the Duke into the Abyss. A girl can dream. ;)

Awww poor Duke. I didn't know that Aelinore was a descendant of the first Arisen. You learn something new everyday.

@Carcharoth - loving the screenies, particularly your Arisen's beard (can't go wrong with good facial hair). But Harpies are a pain. Particularly the Succubus, they were so troublesome in the Tower of Treasons Repaid the other night. I was so glad I had Val and her healing abilities!

@Ronnel - unfortunately I don't have a PS so I cannot help.

I'm so glad Val is being helpful for you guys! She seems to reeeeally like healing people..and smacking goblins with her staff. I'm very glad she gave up her rock collecting, although she did somehow manage to find another pickaxe.

Val and Arya...now that you mention it, those two did stick together. Felt bad for Shinon but, being Shinon, he got over it. Chase didn't mind later, mainly because he was trying to get with one of the Cassardis wenches.

And I LOVE the beard! All hail The Beard!
