Truth. That beard goes with anything. Even diapers.

I've got an extra set of Abyssinal Armor again. Anyone want it? It will be a while before I can get to Grigori for the outfit, but you'll get it eventualy.

I bow to the mighty beard of your Arisen, because it is so mighty. *bow*

And I LOVE the beard! All hail The Beard!

I'm glad everyone likes it. The Beard is glorious and it keeps his face warm.

I downloaded the PS+ version a few hours ago and... wow! Most underrated game ever would be an understatement.

BTW I chose warrior (assasin at level 10) and my pawn is a mage (now... sorcerer?)

Am I doing it right? I don't want to have to start over after more hours...

You're doing fine. There's no need to min/max your stats in this game. Play as every class for a while to try the different styles and for the augments.

Carcharoth's character looks like he belongs in A Game of Thrones or The Witcher, lol. He's got the whole ruthless noble/king look to him.

Were the companion characters decently fleshed out in this game or no?

I think I can safely say, no matter what your standards are on characters... No.

Pawns, what I assume you mean by companions - the characters that follow you around and fight with you -  are all player-created, they have no personality. They're not human, they're weird soulless... things. You can have them sound angry or smug or... about three other things, but that's due to player input.

In fact, none of the characters in DD are that fleshed out. A handful would have been interesting if they actually put more effort into them.

That said, don't let this discourage you from playing. It's a terribly fun game.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll watch some gameplay videos and see what I think.

There's a demo available for download as well if you want to get a feel for the gameplay yourself.

Is it wrong to say I'm liking Shinon with that beard? I have to admit I do like a bit of the grizzled look!

I'd say download the demo even if you like fleshed out characters, the story is pretty mediocre (atleast for now...) but the gameplay is hands down the best of any ARPG this generation, which is not surprising from Capcom.

I agree quite enthusiastically, that the gameplay is tons of fun. It was a steep learning curve for me, but I have been more adventurous in trying things out (talent wise, general build wise, strategy wise) than just about any other game I have ever played.

Since the NPC's and the Pawns have little to no characterization, this thread has been a load of laughs, as we the participants have "added" our own flavor of characterization to said characters. Screenshots help tremendously. HA! XD

@general slots - definitely give the demo a try. If you like it, the game can now be bought with the expansion (Dark Arisen) for around 30-40 dollars. So you get the whole game, plus the expansion.

Is it just me or you can't have more than one character?

Technically, you can have more than one character, but you'd need a spare usb drive to save on. A lot of folks do it just to back up their saves, I don't know about PS3, but 360 saves can get corrupted for seemingly no reason and with little to no warning.

Capcom knew people would get around the one save only feature - if you create a second character, if you try to send a gift to someone within 24 hours, it will turn into a rock. Each time you switch between characters, you have to wait 24 hours before you gift anything. It's a minor annoyance, mostly to deter item dupers, I imagine.

Oh so it's 24 hours? I switched back to Seel recently and didn't sleep/rest for at least a couple days, just in case.

Would anyone out there like to send Seel back home with some mottled leather? ._. Have a feeling I won't be encountering any wargs again anytime soon.

The next time I play, I will. I might get a chance tonight. You can encounter wargs post-Daimon in the Fortress of Remembrance, they spawn across the bridge in the little alcove with two chests.

You have to be pretty much on top of them for them to show up. It's been my experience that they rarely drop anything, though.

And re: BBI helms, when you send unpurified items to someone, it changes. They won't necessarily get that set. And, if you do send it, the next armor level 3 you purify will be those same helms, and will continue to be until you purify and keep it.

NOOOOO Are you serious? I godsbaned for sooo long for both of those, too. How annoying. Grrrr... well, that's money in the coffers, I guess?

Yeah I've encountered those wargs once post-Daimon... once, counting both Dai/Arya and Roham/Seel playthroughs. I've since been to the Fortress of Remembrance, hmm, I'd say around 30 times? Especially when I was trying for a bloodred crystal. And no wargs lol

Welcome to Godsbaning.

I sent you a mottled leather, (it was with Arya, you should still get it, I imagine) and now I'm going screenshot hunting for a little while.

Have been MIA from playing, since I have been doing more mod testing. But, I am itching to kill stuff, "Thousand Kisses"-Style! :D

I have a number of screenshots, that I have never posted, I should really look at doing so. Which reminds me, @Shepen, do you need anymore townfolk or other shots, for Shinon's reports? (and yeah....that is a bit of a nudge to get moar reports posted. lol!)

mmmmmm......mottled leather. Good with Ketchup.

XD

If anyone has access to Feste, Aelinore or Duke "Brownbeard", that'd be a help. To get Feste close up, you'll have to dodge roll around him so the camera is lower.

Julian sans mask would also help. (even if he's in prison). I think I can get everyone else.

I also wouldn't say no to an archhydra or evil eye from the everfall. I'm still pre-Daimon, so Strigoi too.

Try to make it so that Shinon isn't in any of the pics if he's in your party.

Here's what he got up to last night:

He saved his master from an icy tomb, using nothing but the heat generated from his abs, which should come as a surprise to nobody.

He then felt it was time for some Captain Morgan.
