Woah, creepy lore realization while I was thinking on it.

Why would it be odd to bury those in Gransys in this time? It's definitely implied that's burial in the earth is an old practice.

Then.. boom it hit me. Zombies. So destruction of the body must be the normal way of burial.
So then the question is presented: Did those who worship the old god see zombifaction as the after life of sorts?

Or did whatever affect the dead to do this occur after the catacombs were created, possibly after the religion itself had been destroyed. And perhaps this 'Faith' came to Gransys, and created the new traditions.

I love specualtion!

Um damn.

I just got another interesting thing from the Catacombs, gameplay wise.
If you make your pawn super-loyal and make them attack all enimies and what not, they have an interesting reaction to the explosive zombies.

'I'll burst it, stand clear Arisen!'
Then my pawn literally ran up to it, and blew it up, losing a bunch of her healthpoints.

Usually I would call that bad A.I. But the quote stated above was spoken, which means the creators of the game added that in for the Pawn's A.I. She did this right after the quote was spoken.

So yeah.. cool beans.

I just joined the Capcom Pawn Community, I wanted to mess around with that Arisen's Abode thing to see how it worked. So far all I have in my house is Rook, a carrot and a well. I put the carrot there, they give you a bit of furniture and stuff to start, but Rook and the well are there by default.

There was a "rare quest" available called "Defeat a Griffins" (Yes, a griffins.) in which the possible rewards are a bunch of dead fish or Barnaby. I'll screencap my abode once I no doubt receive my dead fish.

Edit: Wooooohoooooooo!

And Report #7 is chugging along well. For a side project, if it's not too much trouble, I'd like Seel's (or Arya's) and Chase's facial sliders/numbers. Actually, anyone's.

This is why I love your posts.

So yeah, beat the Catacombs, and already basically back to where I was. Mostly because I did quests I never did in my first run I guess, and was higher-leveled than before.

So yeah, I'm completeing all the Wrym Hunts quests this time instead of jumping to the Duke stuff.

Also Artemis (Devala 2.0) doesn't have the same close-combat personality that Devala did. She's far more tatical, shooting eneimies from afar, and when forced, wailing on them with her knives of death. She definitely is less.. shall we say, stubborn, but far more arrogant.

She's still completely nut though. She loves shooting eniemes and makening me become the target. Like Devala, Artemis doesn't care if it harms me, she's got to get some kills.in her day or she'll lose it.

Argh, you only get one rare quest in Arisen's Abode before you have to start uploading screenshots (and having them featured on the front page - HA!) and linking your FB account. NOPE.

If someone here joins and gets Barnaby I will personally punch them in the mouth. The rare quest I have now that I can't accept is for Valmiro - just Valmiro, no chance of getting anything else, like various dead animals. Apparently you can fail quests too, so I should be happy with my fish.

I'm not though. I'm gonna hop on DD and make a fake Chase to make me feel better.

....Damn, two days, constant quest achieving, and all that, and I'm even better than before. Took out a few cyclops too, Haha!

Though if anyone has plays Dark Arisen on PS3, I would love to use your pawn, simply because you guys have some hilarious pawn stories.

Also, Mage + Strider + Two Warrior: Awesome sauce.

You know, looking back, perhaps it's good my file got messed up. By restarting, I was able to play the game a bit more intelligently.
Like for example, I didn't know their was an equipment shop in Cassardis the first time around. Would have been great to know though.
Also, Striders get all the cool armor. Warriors just look silly sometimes.
Also, just in case my game goes cuckoo again, I'm saving the WrymRing quest for last.

Edit: Sleeveless Artemis

Rocking the corset , which I'll be using for all her clothing options now.

Also a person used my pawn today. It was a newbie, or somebody with a new save filed from the original. I'm glad she was used at the very least. Maybe I should find one of those Pawn rental forums on the internet.

There's a graveyard by the abbey in Cursewood and I think there's one in the Noble Quarter next to the church, but I could be wrong there. There's also this under Chief Adaro's house if you slide down off the cliff -

They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong.

Really, though, I like Cassardis. Very relaxing atmosphere.

And any excuse to post/listen to this, I'll take it.

Gran Soren is not without its charm, however.

So many things to see and people to annoy.

Outside of populated areas, I like the big open fields during the main game, and in post-game it's all Everfall.

And then there's BBI, which is my new home. <3

Yeah. The Gravestones thing confused me too, especially in this zombie climate.

And cool stuff.

Still hoping to find a pawn rental site on the internet. Want some goodies to happen, you know?

Also lore confermation: Through some sort of transfer, Selene was granted free will by her Arisen Sofiah, who put the legendary hero count at: 5

Your not special at all!

Also, where can I get Gold Idols from that aren't Fornival?

The only decent DD sites I've found are GameFAQs and here. Even the official site is slow and unhelpful.

His daughter is the only source. Either babysit her for a day and get one for free or buy it from her after  a different quest.

And since you have a female Arisen and pawn, make sure you give the golden idol to Madeleine.

Yeah there were many Arisens in the past.
  • Godking Leonart (whose Aelinore's family is descended from and possibly the greatest Arisen of the past as he not only defeated the dragon but united the entire continent which would have included Gransys).
  • Sofiah.
  • Savan.
  • The Dragonforged.
  • Duke Edmun.
Then you have both Orla and Barroch on Bitterblack Isle and also all of the corpses on Bitterblack Isle are of Arisens and pawns (so there were hundreds who died there).

So I was reading up on the characters on the official site and saw this about Adaro:

Adaro's Tale

"At first glance, you would not guess that this short and stocky old man could be any threat. Yet get to know him and you will see why his ‘never say die’ defiant attitude transformed him from humble fisherman to one leading the charge against every village threat. His fighting abilities were unmatched as, weapon in hand, he boldly led the fighters of Cassardis against the gargantuan monstrosities that attacked the village. He openly shared his wealth of fishing and fighting skills with others, making the village of Cassardis not only prosperous, but also independent and completely self-sufficient in an attack. Thus, when the previous Village Chief passed away, there was no question that Adaro would succeed him.

But one day when you, his bravest fighter, returned deeply wounded after a battle with a monster, Adaro was furious with himself. He immediately resigned Cassardis’ autonomy to accept protection as a territory of Gran Soren. New laws and taxes were levied upon the village. This decision did not go over well with some, but when Adaro realized you were almost lost, nothing else mattered. For while he never sired children and you were an orphan, he considers you close as blood. Adaro sees a reflection of his younger self within your limitless potential. For even with his small form and humble beginnings, Adaro worked hard and became the greatest leader Cassardis has ever known."

Interesting eh? It's a shame none of this is ever quoted in the game. There's also a part about Quina's relationship with the Arisen during childhood. Which is evident with the game's opening but it's never mentioned by words. Quina also happened to be childhood friends with Valmiro too.

I remember reading all the character's bio a long time ago but it's interesting to go through it again and also disappointing as none of this is ever explored in the game.

Okay... now that was the problem.

Somehow the image of the ring got messed up, and picking up the image makes it disappear, but the real ring is on the ground somewhere, but you can't see it unless you see the screen saying you can pick it up.

I restarted my game because of visual glitch!

Hello, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. It just goes by so fast!

Lots of lore discussion over the last few pages. It has made me realise how little I really know about DD. I kind of wish they had a journal like set up like Dragon Age Origins so that you can learn more about the history, characters etc.

I noticed a few pages back that MMG mentioned the Forgotten City and the wyverns. I have got to that stage in BBI. I started it and already know it will be very troublesome!

@shepenwepet - I didn't know you could create an abode on the pawn community. Can you add other pawns to it, like ones your Arisen already knows? Congrats on the dead fish! You should upload some of your screenshots. They're brilliant!

@Apophis4321 - sorry to hear about your glitch (downside to DD is only one save - I now back up saves onto a pen drive after a glitch). I saw you mentioned a digital comic. Is this on a website? I would be interested, thanks. Your pawn Artemis looks great. I do have DD:DA on PS3 but I haven't played it on that console yet. But it would be good to create a new Arisen and pawn (too attached to my Xbox ones to change them), so I could use your pawn if that would help.

Getting late, so I will stop waffling!
