[Captain Crash]

Arghhhh this game is brutal sometimes


So I decided to explore Bitterblack against my better judgement being a measily lvl 65.  To my suprise i've been progressing quite nicely and then I met the chained Gore-cyclops!

Well Im not going to pass up on a good fight even if I did feel horribly outmatched.  So 40 minute into the battle I got it onto the last bar of health.  Getting overconfident thinking I was going to take down the thing, it smashed me to oblivion

So yeah just pressed this a couple of times to make me feel better.    Tomorrow Im going back in, with a well rested party (one my pawns was in bad shape to begin with) and am taking the thing down. Especially now I know what im doing. 

Looking forward to it already.  That has to have been one the best boss fights I played   What even better is knowing there is lots more to come!

That is the biggest issue with being low level. Getting one shot killed. I recommend bringing so many wakestones you can barely move 

Another issue is how weak you are. You can wail on a boss (as you well know now) for 40 minutes and still not be done. But it looks like you're patient so you're probably going to have some fun 

Me, I fought my first firedrake for about an hour, and even after it was killed, I stalked away from the TV just so I wouldn't rage-toss it out the window.

Alright, got some Bitterblack Loot. Armor, Gear, Novelty. Who knew that the first half of dungeon 1 could be so profitable.

So, in other news. No freaking giant eyeball spawned yet, so I guess the Bishop hasn't either. Annoying. However, I still got a bunch of Bitterblack Loot thanks to the Midnight Helix, which is has become so easy for me thanks to Freya, a Pawn I chose by boredom.

By god she is glorious. Lightening area effect spells, cold ice attacks, maelstorm attacks. She's so awesome, she basically got this close to wiping out Daimon herself before I got smashed without a wakestone. She takes out Gorecyclops like a boss too.

So right now, I'm planning a party since I can't use my PS3 thanks to some foolish parents. (Urg) So sadly, I want to talk about something out of boredom. DRAGON'S DOGMA QUEST.

Free to play spin off still not released in the West. Is kinda of a open world card/rpg thing. Am actually kinda curious, but hey I'm DD fanatic at this point.

Um, just now Chase yelled out "I'll protect my fellow pawns!" I checked his inclination and yep, his primary is now nexus LOL Coldy did you do that on purpose?

Bugger, bugger, bugger! NO...I didn't do that. LOL!! I will get on, after hubby and I finish a show we are watching. I have been playing mostly on the PS3, since Castor and F!Chase were lower level, and only recently got Dark Arisen.

Bad, Chase.....BAD.

@Apophis4321 - I am fine with cursed items right now, but if you have a spare Argence, that would be most appreciated.

Oh, and @Apophis4321, I am guessing that you haven't killed Daimon yet (so he later respawns into Awakened Daimon). Both the Gazer and Dark Bishop, will only show up once during the "Pre-Awakened Daimon" stage. Once you have completed plain Daimon storyline, then both the Gazer and Dark Bishop will respawn regularly (every 3 - 7 days....I think Shep said 7 for them).

No Argenece, sorry. Will look for it, promise. Planning another Bitterblack Expedition since the Giant Eye didn't freaking spawn yet.

But are you sure you don't want some gear. If not to use, the heck, sell it. I sell Bitterblack purified gear I don't need all the time. Maybe Dragon forge it to make it sell better, but nothing else really.

If you don't need it, sell, that's my motto. Also, I'm buying out all the shops in Gransys armor wise.

Possibly going to sleep in a inn again a few days so I can re kill that Gore Cyclops, going to stack up on all the Bitterblack Gear I can get, so I can give it you, and stack up on some other vocations weapons and armor.


Also, I'm still using Chase, cause hey, Lunaria would miss her. Got some fun shots as she took on the Gore Cyclops.

Also, I'm gonna try something new. In a post at some point, I'm gonna do a liveblog edit deal, which means everytime something of interest or I take a photo, I'll edit my post with that image or event in mind, or maybe both.

Might be fun, you know?

There's no real hurry; he's been doing fine  Although I will note that at the end of a series of battles, Arya had almost full health while Shinon was nearly depleted. Hmm seems Mr. Sexy Nexus has a preference as to who he assists in battle.

@motomoto - LOL! Well, at least Arya got some well deserved attention.

Chase has been "schooled". He is now set for Scather/Challenger (which will eventually turn to Challenger/Scather, depending on my current play style). I really have no idea how "nexus" came up. Guardian you can get by abusing the "come" button (and maybe the help button as well), but Nexus.....without choosing it via the chair or Elixirs. *shrug!* I'm at a loss. Heh! XD

@Apophis4321 - Nothing wrong with farming/playing in pre-awakened Daimon. When you are ready to take on Daimon, just remember to add "Clout" and "Vehemence" to Lunaria's Augments, to significantly boost her Strength power. She should be golden for curb-stomping Daimon with you.

Just updated Lunaria. You should check her out now, I cashed in on all the Bitterblack cursed items I collected, and walla, I got some good gear for her to use while Dragonforge some stuff with cursed dragon Bishop.

Basically I beat Daimon with Chase, so she'll have knowledge on him I suppose. Also I'm gonna collect you some level 3 Bitterblack stuff since I'm on post Daimon now. So Cold , watch out, Chase will be getting some gear soon.

Jumping and hacking is definitely more effective than hunter bolt, and I say this as a staunch opponent of the climbing mechanic. (Dat camera. ) I could do nothing with all manner of bow skills - all hearts were still there when he left, but using heaven's key and hundred kisses = "You truly are worthy."

Has anyone ever had the Ur leave way before he's supposed to? I'd only had the chance to use 2 sets of periapts and he was gone the first time I fought him.

Well Bitterblack isn't getting the better of me just yet 

Just taken out the so called "Gazer", those crazy eyes monsters arn't getting me!   Easier fight then that Gore-Cyclops  (Yeah took that down earlier aswell).

I also only have 50k Gold left after I went on a mega enhancing spree   Oh and my Arisen has traded the red colour scheme I've given her for most the game to a purple one. Mind you it seems all the later gear seems to be darker tone.

Nice! Now you should start getting your respawning Bishop and Gazer. Plus, you will have the respawning Firedrake, Thunderwyvern, and Cursed Dragon, in the Duskmoon Tower (perfect for DFing )

No problem on the Argence. It is actually found in vanilla Gransys. One place I DO have access to (Bloodwater Beach), where you can often pick a few up. The other is at the Manse, and that one is closed off to me.

As for the Xbox crew, Ulee got another "make-over" (was actually trying to get her back to her old-old self). It is proving to be.....difficult. heh! I also tried making some minute changes to Chase (different eyes, no face paint, different nose size....). In the end, none of it looked right. Of course, now I have him sporting Thomas' hat (aka Jeff)....no real point to making changes. He's "incognito" now.


I desperately need to fight the "offline" Ur-Dragon, so I can get some more Putrid Dragon Scales....only two left. Much quicker than forging from that bastard Montebank.

*applause!* I think I need to grab your pawn, and give her something. She's a nice gal....she deserves pretty things.

@Shepenwepet - Agreed on the Bow not being the best substitute for climbing (and you know me....I LOVE TO CLIMB....seriously, I really do! ). The only problem is that "jacked-up" camera, when climbing on the Ur. So if I have too much trouble, I can at least shoot at the damn hearts. lol!

Ugh....the St. George. Someone gifted one to me a long time ago, and then the last two Ur fights (prior to this own), dropped the St. George on both occasions.  The Beowulf mask was the only one I didn't have. Wouldn't mind getting another Siegfried Mask.

As for Ur just taking off before the 8 minutes are up....uh-uh. Never had that happen. That would suck.

I hate that I'm so used to Shinon's face, I tried swapping in a bunch of different mouths last night, because he always looks so grumpy.  I just wanted him to smile for a little while. Nope. Like motomoto pointed out, it just makes him look soused.

Greatest advantage to PS3 version over the Xbox version. Sheesh, it's not like I don't have available room on my 200g (or wuteva it is) Xbox.

That was glorious. I just had killed a cursed dragon that spawn and I had left the room, but I needed to go back to get the loot, and then somehow another cursed dragon spawns, and I kill that too. I'm dragon forging left and right baby! Now to the Bishp!

Several times. I'm usualy climbing on his head or tail when it happens. I think we're technically out of the battlefield when he does that so he leaves.
