Yeah, it's a bit of a chore playing warrior  Sometimes it's a chore just WATCHING Arya clunk around the battlefield, hefting her hammer. Yeah, I need to get the sword; have to remember to loot that chest and hope I get it next time I'm down there. I've been skipping it because I haven't had the desire to sit in front of the TV for half an hour and keep killing myself for a single sword! Plus I'm also on Rohan/Seel now, and I think they've got all the weapons they need. Finally got the carrion boots for Seel last night, woohoo! Believe it or not, I'm still lacking both cloaks for them. So when Shinon does his reports, the joke about always getting cloaks is totally lost on me :P Boots of Oblivion/Shadow, now heck, I've got about five each of THOSE...

I'd love to get the fighter gear, too; hell, it took me so long to get Revenant Wail though that once we hit infinity I think Arya's a ranger for life LOL I don't have any life left in me to Godsbane these days.

I admit I still godsbane. Now I mostly do it to give Ari/Castor a head start. Technically, I still don't have the Carrion Mantle, and Hellfire Breastplate. But, since I don't care for the look of the Hellfire suit, and even as a Sorcerer, I rarely put Chase in either BBI Mantle, I am fine with just giving my farmed items to Castor and other lower level pawns. I AM still missing the two-handed lvl.3 blade though (just like you). And I really do want it. The last five or six lvl.3 weapons, have all been repeats.....got a little frustrated, so I godsbaned again, and gave most of them away. Yes, yes...it appears that until you take what you are given, you are doomed to repeat, but I was peeved, and felt better about gifting. LOL!

Yeah, it's a bit of a chore playing warrior

A "bit"? I honestly can't see how people can play as a warrior and enjoy themselves. ;)  Not nearly enough zipping around the battlefield, stabbin' and shootin'.

Believe it or not, I'm still lacking both cloaks for them. So when Shinon does his reports, the joke about always getting cloaks is totally lost on me :P

I had 23 Blasphemer's Cloaks the last time I checked. I sold a bunch, but I really shouldn't have. I should have taken a picture of the screen to prove my amazing luck. I still have zero Hellfire Greaves and only one set of Oblivion Gauntlets. The greaves I don't care about. The gauntlets... Shinon and Alynna shouldn't have to keep fighting over them anymore.

And love the avatar change, Coldi :)

I must get back to DD too! I have got distracted by other games, but the great thing about DD is you slip back easily into it.

@Coldwetn0se - Zelda games are amazing. But yes, they could be a bit frustrating at times. The only one I haven't finished is the Twilight Princess only because I hate playing it on the Wii! That's really frustrating!

I have noticed that Fable Legends have a character called Rook. Looks a bit different to the DD one!

@Shepen - Thanks! ;)

It's funny about the Warrior class. In vanilla Gransys, warrior can be a beneficial vocations to have in the mix. The problem is that in parts of the Everfall and BBI, you are just too limited to make a good impact. Between having a bunch of flying enemies and terrain that isn't as forgiving for a heavy swinging character (not to mention Metal Golems with medallions only reachable by bows), the utility of the class gets halved. So to speak. And, due to how stamina hungry a number of the skills are, you end up doing better just having good augments and using the basic attack. *yawn*

BTW, @Shepen mentioning her astounding number of cloaks, just makes my face look like a cat's rear.....oh how I wish we could gift purified BBI gear! Shep would like more gauntlets; I have oblivion and shadow gauntlets spilling out of my inventory. I too have a number of cloaks, but I have no doubt there are those that have multiples of things I would LOVE to have more than one of. Don't get me wrong, there is something fun about the "mystery prize" effect, when getting a cursed item gifted. But due to how the system seems to work, if you are still looking for specific items, you have to continue "accepting" duplicates, or you run the chance of never getting those items. <_<

@newschmoo - I love the Zelda games, and I wish I had the patience to finish. However, I never regret buying them. Windwaker, I suspect, I might have finished. But, due to it's size (and I seemed to get lost a lot...lol!), and all the different side quests you could do, I just never finished. Like you, Twilight Princess was a bit of a bear, due to the Wii controller. The only time I liked the Wii controller outside of the Wii sports disk, was fishing in Animal Crossing 2.

Had a bit of a scare last night. My power went off briefly (we had high winds here), while I was playing DD. When the power came back on, my Xbox was acting a bit wonky. I was afraid that my save might have corrupted (because YES! The dingbat that I am, STILL hasn't backed up my save file. :pinched: ). Thankfully, all was good.

.......and then I still didn't backup my file.

I haven't backed my files up either. Question: Can I put both files on the same flash drive? Or do I need to buy two different flash drives?

@Curious - Wait! I thought you were already working with saves off of a thumbdrive (hence why you have two Arisen play throughs on the same motomotogirl account)?? Or are you using the "cloud" for that?

As for saving both on the same thumbdrive, I am guessing if the save file names has some differences in those names, then you could save both to one drive. If they read the same, then the risk of overwriting (though I am fairly certain it would ask for permission) is likely. Your situation is a bit more unique than mine, since I use two separate Xbox accounts, for my two play throughs.

Ahh, I see, so technically Seel/Rohan (who are on the thumb drive) are already "backed up" (since the thumb drive save can't corrupt?) but if I want to back-up Arya/Dai I need to purchase another thumb drive?

EDIT: Arya/Dai are on the xbox HD.

Not sure I'd want to test putting them on the same thumb drive if we're not sure.

The thumb drive save can corrupt just like anything else, I believe. In order to back up both your saves, I assume you would need two more thumb drives. I don't think the Xbox would let you have 2 save files from DD under the same gamertag on the same drive. Even if it did, when you'd boot up DD, crazy things could happen because you're only supposed to have one save.

My intention was to also use multiple drives (my husband is into digital photography, so we have a ton of cards floating around this house....doubt he'll miss a couple ;) ). I could just kick my own hiney for not having done it yet. I would be very sad if I lost either of my pairings.

In other news, I can't wait to get to infinity with these two pairs cause after that I'm gonna start a third (perhaps with different gamertag). Gonna make a self-insert Arisen (bwahaha) and gonna try, TRY, to create a more macho pawn  Though the best I can do might be a Chase clone (sexy elf guy).

@Coldwetn0se - I'm glad your save didn't get corrupted. For a minute whilst reading your post on the previous page I did have a little gasp, the "phew". Those saves (and good ol' Xbox) can be temperamental.

You've all got me thinking about back ups now!

BTW is Animal Crossing good?

LOL...oh my god, don't get me started on Animal Crossing. I LOVED those games (preferred the first one to the second, but still liked them both). Word of warning though (assuming a game like this is your cup of tea): if you think games like Dragon's Dogma, DA, TES are time sinks...*chuckle!*, Animal Crossing can be a Horrific time waster.

Spoiler

Yes, it is somewhat Sims-like, but the weird factor is cranked up. If you had to compare it, it would be similar to those toys they sold for a while, that were like electronic pets. But, in an interactive world, and you have a PC. I don't know, if I am describing the game well, but if you know anyone that has a copy, you might look at borrowing it, and see what you think.

Using another Xbox Live account is a very nice choice. I just set it up with my husbands vitals, except using coldwetn0se (which is what I should have changed FlattestFlea to, a long time ago...lol! Didn't know any better  ) It also allows you to rent out your other pawn yourself. :) THAT was definitely a bonus. ;)

As for another Chase type pawn....I'd be good with that. lol! He's manly and pretty, all that the same time. Of course, I think that is an apt description for a lot of our male pawns, from this group. *nods*

Its weird ever since my game got corrupted I've been on BSN farrr less.  I guess chatting to you lovely folks has kept me going for a while :P

Although I really enjoyed this game. Im still not feeling a restart and I am likely moving a a month or two so that will dampen my free time even further.  To be honest I can't see me playing again late summer and with a new line of games coming in... possibly longer.

Then again seeing all these new play through posts with an upbeat attitude is kind of inspiring! B)

@Captain Crash - I had a post I was working on in response to your post, and my stupid laptop quit out of the damn thing. :pinched:

Anyway, in short, I was going to suggest that you start a new game and play just till you create your pawn. Then let the save be. Then later, you might pick it up on occasion just as a diversion, and play a little. This might lead you to playing all the way through at some point, but if not, that is fine too. You can still have a little fun now and again.

Of course, with moving, I understand how time gets scarce. ;) Hope you continue posting in the thread though. Always nice to have contributors. :)

Manly AND pretty. In fact, there's too much pretty there. I had to hop on DD and dial it back.

Spoiler

Hopefully I'll be finished with Dark Souls this week, that ten minute dip into DD was enormous fun.

@Captain - I agree with coldi on all of what she said, so just read her post again. ;)

Yes! Finally finished out Warrior. It wasn't my plan to worry about maxing out the vocation, but since I was trying to get over 2000hp, the last level up had me at one slot away from maxing the vocation out. Sooooo close to "Clout", I could taste it.
 Now that it is done, with the exceptions of a level up now and again (before reaching lvl.100), it's on to the fun stuff. ;)

Oh....I definitely would not advise fighting Elder Ogres in confined quarters, as a low level Warrior. :pinched: *squish* (yeah, yeah....I know. Already tried that before and died. More than once.) I just hate running from a creature that as just about any other class, I can comfortably (sort of) take on.

I have also decided to ignore Aelinore's maid. Can I do that? lol! I mean, I have purposefully let the Duke strangle her, but I still "technically" took the quest. Or at least the part you can get before she bites it. heh. This time, I just don't even want to bother. I don't really care about the stupid Manse, and I have been getting a good load of Argence at Bloodwater Beach, so.... :P I realize that I will miss out on the last ingredient to make those "LOVE ME!!" rings, but if I remember correctly, I can gift those. And wouldn't ya know it: Ulee has some. :D I am trying once again for Reynard, and it looks like I will have to give some liquid effluvium to Quinta..."Yeah, so what! I gave the Pope on a Rope your damn flower. It don't mean a thang." <_< Fat bastard is still on my short list too. I don't "love" him for his money...."dem periapts <3 "

Finally nabbed some new shots off of FB. Here they be:

Seel probably just didn't want to waste any of his spells on that thing :P

@Coldwetn0se - you have me really intrigued about Animal Crossing. I think it was when you mentioned talking animals! BTW Ari's very pretty.

@Captain Crash - sorry to hear that you haven't restarted since your game got corrupted. I would go along with what Coldy said. That way people can still use your pawn and gift him, so when you come to play again he/she will have experience and rift crystals. It's also a game that you can pop in and out of when you need something familiar. I do know what you mean about time though, I haven't played any games (or been on the BSN) since the weekend :-(. But I love coming to this thread though -makes me smile!

New games - there are a few good ones coming up soon. Wish Capcom would pull their finger out and look at DD2.

@newschmoo - Thanks for the compliment on Ari. I suspect like her predecessor though, she will be spending time at "McNamara and Troy", once I get to use the CC whenever I feel like it. :pinched:  I just can't leave well enough alone.

The talking animals are all kinds of silly. They can get mad at you too, or just be in foul moods. When that happens, a little "smoke cloud" puffs over the head, and makes these little "popping" noises. hehe! The seasons change (since again, it acts in real time), and there is a surprise for your b-day. You can however, set it up to have the game "start" during whatever date you put in. For example, I once started the game over and it was still winter, but I wanted to see Spring/Summer. So I made the starting date June, I believe, and gave myself a different birthday, so I could get my special surprise right away. ;) You could also interact with other players "towns", though since that was on the Gamecube, doubt it can still be used that way...(??)

Dragon's Dogma is a great game to just have around even if you aren't playing it regularly. And this thread, makes me guffaw all the time. Love dem photos, AND the DD posters! :D
