Kal and company are still stuck in the fortress of remembrance. That eliminator on the stairs just butchers everyone. Zihark should try hugging it. He hugs everything and everyone else.
After I realized I had to switch to Alynna and Shinon to try out the black & white trick, I did so, released my support pawns and summoned this lovely fella.
I had no previous experience with Great Sacrifice, the skill kills one of your pawns. Why would you want to use that? It seemed to always go for Shinon first, I'm not sure if it's due to proximity or what. Once you fire the arrow, time slows down and everything turns grey. It's... odd, to say the least. It took a couple tries to get it working, but eventually...
The thing that tripped me up from the instructions was to "fire magic arrows at the same time as Great Sacrifice", which is impossible, as your character has to recover from the shot, which takes a few seconds. Here's how it's done, hopefully easier to understand than my first post. You'll probably need a liquid vim or some large fish or something.
1) Fire off a great sacrifice, keep holding down L1 throughout the entire trick.
2) Once your character recovers, fire two basic magic arrows.
3) Wait for a white explosion, when this happens, start charging another great sacrifice and fire it off as soon as it lets you. (it takes a while for the 'soul' to be absorbed because time is slowed down)
4) Same as before, fire two basic magic arrows.
5) When the screen goes white again, release L1.
The only bad thing about this is that you can only take pictures of pawns you meet walking around, as soon as you enter the rift, the color returns to normal. Oddly, when you talk to people and the camera zooms in, the color fixes, but when it zooms out, it's back to black and white.
