It's a Japanese game. J-Pop goes with everything from their perspective. Just be grateful it isn't J-Pop the entire game and only the title screen... lulz.

I mean, the only other Capcom game I have played slightly related to this is Monster Hunter, they never used J-Pop in that so why here?

Maybe to get Japanese people to play it?

I'm having fun with it, it's not blow-your-mind amazing, but it has its charm. The pawn system is nice, but to be honest I would have preferred characters with real personalities. Hearing "THEY'RE WEAK TO FIRE" 800 times during a fight isn't very helpful.

I'm playing as a mage, quite liking the combat. Took a bit to get used to, though. And I'm certainly not a reliable healer.

There's a auto target lock-on if you're a mage and just using a light attack, not sure about other classes. Spells were a bit wonky at first but I'm getting the hang of it.

But yeah, it's okay. Too early yet to say it was worth the money, but it looks like it could be.

@ jollyorigins i wholly agree. The main theme being sung in japanese is not the issue for me but it being a pop song is. At least it's only the title screen though.

The negatives on the game so far are strikingly similar to those of Skyrim, yet Skyrim was generally scored higher. Combat in DD is deep and fun. Character custimization is deep as well. The pawn thing is really cool, as you can use user created ones in your game. There's a lot going for this game so far.

Aww, that is a terrible song! The demo's song was great; it fit the atmosphere of a medieval hack n' slash. The J-Pop does not fit at all. What the hell were the developers thinking changing the title theme from a beautiful chant to an awful pop song! Damn, that demo song reminds me of Origins which made the demo even more awesome.

It comes off a bit more(but not much) as J-Rock than J-Pop to me. It's not that bad of a song, hell it's kind of catchy but I don't think it fits the game.

Apperantly you can buy in game currency with real money. Fraser said he bought 5 dollars worth.

I am broken hearted to hear people say their buying in game currency with their real money.... they have no concept of value and they are telling Capcom that this BS is working.
I gurantee that the voided areas of the map is not only DLC but locked on the disc.
Capcom doesn't see a problem with this they don't even see the difference.
Seeing this game in action is just making me angry because its a good looking game and I can tell I'd have a ton of fun with it but I cant in good concious buy it.
Capcom doesn't deserve a cent I will only get this game when the FULL version is out (note its not out now) and only used.

Capcom is worse than EA as far as I'm concerned.

How are they able to buy in-game currency, i only saw extra hair, missions dlc on the psn? None of the dlc imo is worthwhile from what their descriptions imply, plus Revenge of Shinobi is out on the psn. I haven't played that game in 20 years.

Honestly, I don't have any real problem with that.  I remember EXP DLCs for certain JRPGs as well.  Its not like its forcing anyone to buy it unless they make certain items ludicrously expensive.  If there are people who want to buy that, why not?  It's not taking away anything you can't already get in-game.

as long as they keep making money, they wont get what theyre doing is wrong. Maybe thats why they didnt release it on PC. they know people will find out they locked sections of the game.
Personally id still buy it once the pc version comes out but Id stay away from that dlc stuff....hopefully that'll be enough. Im not planning on buying it because of the story or anything, the game mechanics look awesome. Sort of like tetris.
