@Shepen - LOLOLOL! I picked up Zi last night, and saw he was sporting the "Let's Get Physical..." look. Fantastic. <3 So much win in that ab-trio shot.

@Car - Congrats on #23! I saw you come on last night, and figured you were Ur hunting. I was still fight the Ur when he was at 3 3/4 bars of health (I believe), but I finally just had to call it a night. Tired. (and apparently a tad weird reading over the last post I made yesterday night. )

Alright...here are my attempts at screenshots fight the UR. I actually took quite a few, but too many were definitely not worth keeping.

Spoiler

Have a few more shots stored up. Will share later. Wonder what the Ur-Dragon gifted me. A Lambent Shield. Or maybe, a Lambent shield. Could be Lambent Shield. Though I suspect....Volant White. <_<

Returned to Dragon's Dogma today -- Decided to go back to Bitterblack, then I ran into kind ol' Mr Reaper and I knew I wasn't gonna fight him, so I snuck off -- Then I ran into a gigantic eyeball thing with tentacles, because of course it needs to have that -- Oh, Capcom, you and your imaginative monster designs. It sure was a fun fight though and a bit worth it after killing an Undead Dragon and getting my new bow forged.

Holy crap. I need these. I KNEW there was a way to do this.

They're easy to get, too. My apologies if your pawns return to you absolutely trashed and have no memory of their journeys with Alynna.

I found out the hard way about the "side-effect". Heaven forbid I should read the description BEFORE using an unknown potion.

Looking forward to the resulting snapshots. hehe!

And with all the talk (and general silliness, that is this thread), I am kind of wanting to play SOT again.

Woah, woah, woah! Remember me? Guess what. I'm back in the Dragon's Dogma business. Found my remote, bought a capture device, and now I can  record footage of my console. In other words, look at my new game playthrough of Dragon's dogma!

Whoa, that's a lot of videos! Are you doing an LP? I'll have to check 'em out soon :D

Aww, Seel's little journey into the Ur-Dragon's lair <3 Poor guy. I may or may not have wibbled and aww'ed over Briana's consoling him. And then all the shots of everyone getting their arses handed to them  It's like a DD bloopers reel.

Howdy, Chris; that giant eyeball is a beotch when you're lower level but it becomes more of an annoyance once you get some experience under your belt  But Death, yeah, I still run from him in most locations!

Must see screenshots of the whole party passed out from drinking Selene's special ale. Tell me, what's a (pawn) child doing brewing ale anyway...

This is too awesome. I go into the rift, and what should I spy?? Briana with the "fab-ab" outfit on. Love it! <3 Here is hoping @Carcharoth leaves her like that for a little bit. I was just about to grab some low level pawns for some gifting and a bit of teaching. But after that, I must have pics of more fantastic pawn abs. :D

*chuckle* I like.

Question to those better schooled than I am: When I went into the rift to look for low level pawns to rent out and gift things to, I have a few things I look for to help determine if these pawns are still being played with. Now, one thing, that I really started paying attention to, was the Bestiary list, mostly due to "learning scrolls" I have sitting in inventory. I started noticing that all the pawns (whether they had been rented out before or not) had at least one star for creatures like Wargs, Pyre Saurians, Poison Undead, etcetera, yet they didn't have BBI listed as a place that they have started exploring. In the Exploration list, it isn't even listed. (NOTE - As stated, this caught my eye because I was seeing this from pawns that had never been rented.)

So my question is, does just owning (and having DD:DA installed), give at least one star to those "beginning" BBI beasts? Or, is it a case that you have to have gotten two at least the first "short-cut" doorway (i.e. past the Gazer) before BBI is listed in the Explored list?

Damn I hope that made some sense. :pinched:

I am not sure. The "I'm more familiar with this area now" thing didn't pop with Zi until the first Corridor of Emptiness, I don't believe, so it's possible these pawns have fought wargs and stuff... but pyre saurians? Aren't they only in the pilgrim's gauntlet, which is only reachable after the fortress of remembrance?

Yeah, I really don't know. It's something to look into.

Yep...Pyre Saurians (as far as I can remember, are pretty much in the Pilgrims Gauntlet. It's possible they are someplace else Post-Daimon, but fairly certain prior to Daimon, it's just the gauntlet.

Many of the creatures in the same "family" share knowledge. If you gain knowledge with wolves, for example, you also learn something about garms and wargs. You can see what these BBI creatures are because you've encountered them already. People who haven't seen them before likely have ??? where the creature/quest/location is in their status menu.

Found it!!

From the wiki:

"Dark Arisen introduced new enemies but no new strategy scrolls. However, if a technique for an existing Strategy Scroll applies to a new creature, then Knowledge will be gained for the new creature as well. See Wolf Strategy Vol. 1 for an example of this, where Wargs and Garm are classed as Wolves . "

Six reasons to play Dragon's Dogma.

I honestly thought to myself, but he's only posted three pictures here! Where's the other three?

Never has my palm slapped my forehead so hard. Technically, though, you can only have four reasons at any given time, six reasons all at once would result in some magical abocalypse.

I see what I did there.

"Excuse me. Can I get five hundred blast arrows and as many curatives as you can fit into my masters storage unit?"

Judith: Ma'am, this is an apothecary, we don't sell...oh, wait. We do sell blast arrows. ...Why do we sell blast arrows?

Camellia: To sell more medicine, love. This one here keeps us in business.

So I was thinking Dimitri would look pretty awesome with a Sovereign's Mantle, any chance of someone trading for a cursed armor level 2?

Thanks, I'm relatively new to Bitterblack on my StephMichalchuk (Dimitri) account, but I have plenty of crafting resources & what-not from vanilla DD.

Sovereign's Mantle I believe is "ungiftable". BUT, you already have the cursed level (level 2) armor, that can BECOME a Sovereign's Mantle. If you have the Godsbane, you can save before purifying, then change your pawn and Arisen's vocations with Olra, to Fighter/Warrior. (You can change it back, once you are finished trying for the Mantle). Then choose to Purify the lvl.2 Armor, and see if the Sovereign Mantle comes up. I can also gift you more lvl.2 armor, so you can keep trying.

;)

Added you, I'll set all of my pawns to public btw - but feel free to friend whomever you like from my list ;)

Also what would be the best vocations to have set before purifying? The best odds of it becoming Sovereign mantle?

Sovereign's Mantle shows up four times in blue vocation sets, only once in yellow and red, so your best bet would be a mage or sorcerer, for both you and your pawn.

Bitterblack Armor Level 2

edit: I just started fighting the Ur so I'll send your armor as soon as I'm done, which could be anywhere from ten minutes until... tomorrow.

That is so strange, since the Sovereign Mantle adds Strength, but not Magick. *shrug* Learn something new everyday.

I know, I was gonna say you're better off red, but I figured I'd check just in case.

And for the record, I got two sovereign's mantles recently with both arisen and pawn in yellow.

Another thing to note, if you end up purifying a cursed king's belt while in a blue vocation, godsbane and switch to red. That'll give you a 50% chance of getting a mantle.

And I'm in the zone with this Ur. If only Briana'd had eyes in that last shot, it would have been amazing. I still kept it, it was that good.
