Yes to the mask and no to the hair dream. I changed Zi's hair briefly because I wanted something more... Ziharky.

 

Sadly there's nothing in the CC that looks like that without making him look like a woman.

 

Speaking of lame dreams, a few weeks ago I had a dream that Sam Riegel and "The Guy That Voiced Aldous" (his actual name, I saw it written down) sued Capcom because they never got paid for their voice work. I woke up before I found out if they got their money or not. They better have, dammit.

 

EDIT: If anyone can quickly get to the Sparyard of Scant Mercy, (and you've already cleared it/picked up the tablet) could you tell me if there's a weird dark fog that seems to form when you approach the exit door? Look at this.

Aww, well, I love his current look if that helps. Sometimes the pawns move away from their original inspiration. Arya had an updo and blue hair initially to mimic 1/2 of her namesake (Aria lol). And Seel, you remember the "lovely" and "stately" version of Seel, with his gentle expression and long braid lol He was based on one of my own characters. But that just didn't look right, so he morphed into his present day self.

Damn, wish I could have gotten in on Grace. Of course, my luck would be, all three pawns running in opposite directions. No cool "trio portrait" pour Ulee. lol!

@Shepen - I too spied that quick hairstyle change on Zi.

As for Castor, he was a big dumb mutt, originally. But after many levels of squabbling with Chase, getting advice (or a "talking to") from both Ari and Ulee, getting close to Thomas for a while, then crushing a bit on Briana, having Zi as his best friend, casting (or stabbing) in unison with Seel (which he really likes doing),and Shinon as his idol (and now a bit of Carcharoth).....hmmmm. Yep! He's now just a more worldly bimbo, who believes himself to be suave. He wants to be Superman, when he is probably more Clark Kent. But he tries....oh how he tries (hence the more dapper hairstyle and mutton chops ) At least he is shaping up (build-wise) quite nicely!

Cool idea about the Sparyard, by the way.

I friended Cat Blade a while, without even realizing that was Trista (and she didn't mention it, either). That was serendipitous!

The one time I tried to pick DD:DA back up and play, it was like I had lost all dexterity in my hands. I had no clue what the bleep I was doing. Might be from playing other stuff - this week, I've been painting our upstairs bathroom, and the hubs bought me a PS4 and Infamous: Second Son this past Sunday. I played the first two Infamous games, so this was like coming home. Kinda how I assume DD would be, if I could just get past BBI's entrance. Hehe.

Infamous Second Son is really enjoyable. I have almost finished it. It has taken me a little while to play it cause I have to clear up all the neighbourhoods first! And Troy Baker as Delsin is great. I like his relationship with Reggie. They really care for each other.

@CENIC - I am playing DD on the PS3 too. I can send you a request to hire your pawn as you have an infinity pawn! I am only level 41 on there. I quite like playing a lower level Arisen. I am thenewschmoo on PSN.

Alynna keeps a shoebox full of old - and sometimes embarassing, especially for Shinon - photos. She does have a few of Early Seel.

It was not there when I reached the Sparyard as Alynna. It's weird, when you stand near the door or walk toward the fog, it shifts and reappears behind you. My lantern has enough range that it shouldn't be there at all. I'm not sure if it was a graphical glitch because I was in Lyncean Sight as the game switched to a cutscene of the door opening, or... I honestly don't know. There's also a weird bright spot on the floor (perhaps one of the apparitions of Grette/Ashe stood there, I never noticed, I only took notice of the one right as you walk in) I don't recall seeing that bright spot in Alynna's game either.

I like dropping by every now and then reading your adventures and looking at all the screenshots (btw, how do you get them on xbox?!).

 

I have to ask though, where do all the pretty armors come from?  Is it from the new island place that was added later?  I haven't been there yet.  What is the suggested level for that place?

 

Sorry, still kind of noobie'ish to the game.  Only around level 52.

Hi @Kaidan Fan! To take screenshots from your Xbox, try the following steps:

1) As you are walking around, or in combat, and you see something interesting, hit the "Start" button.

2) At the bottom of the menu, you will see the "Share" option (you must be connected to XBL, at the time, for this to work).

3) Click on the Share button.

4) You can use the controls to change the camera angle, and zoom in.

5) When you get the shot you want, use the "Start" button again, to snap the picture. Follow the prompts to connect to your FaceBook Account, log in, when prompted, and upload the picture.

6) Go to FB and download your pictures. They will be in a separate album.

7) Upload pictures to your photo sharing site of choice (I use photobucket), and post your glorious pictures of your time in Gransys and Bitter Black Isle.

As for Bitter Black Island (BBI), you are welcome to go there anytime, just to start the story, but don't feel obligated to play through the whole Labyrinth. You can come and go, via a character named Olra (she can be found on the Pier in Cassardis, at night). She is another character who can change your vocations with, and can "purify" the "cursed items" you find on BBI. There is a TON of new armor/weapons to be had on BBI, but it is like getting a mystery bag. LOL! You won't know what you get, till it is purified.

However, there are some tricks to get certain items that are based on "class". (For example, if you are looking to get a weapon that a Ranger or Strider would use, and you have a cursed weapon to purify, change both your Arisen and main Pawn to Ranger/Strider, then have Olra purify the item.)

You will also pick up "Liftstones" as you go through BBI. If you find an area too difficult to get through, based on your current level, you can "liftstone" out of there, to safety. The monsters in BBI are a lot of fun to take down, but they are tougher than the vanilla game beasts.

As for best level, the wiki will claim that you should wait till you are past level 49, before attempting (at least I think that was the level), but people play differently. Besides, depending on what rental pawns you have with you, it can make going through BBI a bit easier, or a bit more difficult.

Let us know if you are interested in pawn swapping. I would be more than happy to rent out your pawn, and gift him/her items.

Thanks for the reply, coldwetn0se!  Next time I start up DDA I will look for you......if I can figure out how to look for specific pawns.  My pawn is a medicant/guardian (are that the right names?) anyways, he heals me   I played through the first time as a ranger and I loved it.  I'm doing warrior this time and thinking I'm not so good at it 

 

Maybe I'll peek at the island next time too so I can see what I can get

Anytime! You can always use my Gamertags to "Friend" me, then when you go into the Rift next, my pawns will already be available in the Rift for you to rent for free. (just remember, that if you have other "Friends" with this game, the Rift only shows 5 pawns at a time, besides the current two you may be renting. You may need to send a few "away", or use the menu system by touching the Rift Stone. )

As for vocations, if you haven't done it already, maxing out all of them available to both your Arisen and pawn, allows you to gain access to ALL Augments. For example, if I decide to play as a Ranger, I want my bow and my blades to cause as much damage as possible. Most bows and daggers have Attack damage, and some will also have Magick damage. I can "beef" those up, but utilizing certain Augments, from other vocations. If I am using a pair of daggers and a bow, that only does regular strength based Attack damage, then I will usually set up the following Augments for it:
Ranger
- Clout
- Vehemence
- Sinew
- Damping/Precision/Trajectory (or another stamina enhancing Augment, if I am a little lower in Stamina)
- Opportunism (new Augment that you can get from BBI)
- Adhesion (new Augment from BBI)

You'll notice that the top two augments there (Clout and Vehemence) come from leveling up the Fighter and Warrior vocations. Even though you get them from those two vocations, I can use them with any other vocation, once unlocked.

Magick Archer is another perfect example. The MA bow, does all of its damage based on your available Magick Attack. So, by adding two Augments (when playing MA), from both the Mage and Sorcerer vocations (Attunement and Acuity), I have dramatically increased my damage that my Arisen's bow can deal.

YAY! Finally.

I have been trying to get a Cursed Dragon to spawn for the past week, and finally got one in the Tower of Treason. (This is with Ari and Castor, so still pre-Daimon). @Carcharoth had generously gifted Castor a level 3 Weapon, last week, and it was the Framae blades. *jiggity!* So I ended up getting the Framae Blades, the Beserkin, a pair of Boots of Shadow, and the Nebula Cape, all Dragon Forged.

*skipping around the house, like a freak, and I don't care that my blinds are open!*

So I took Gideon and Liana into my favorite part of BBI (the final part), and they did really well! Hopefully learned a few tricks, too. They tore up some saurian sages, sirens, eliminators, and golden/silver knights. Now Rohan thought it prudent to only take on ONE of the gorecyclopes; there were bodies flying around all over the place, and he had his hands full reviving them (at their level, a gorecyclopes punch... which is pretty much unavoidable in that area... is a one-hit kill). And he's convinced Seel wasn't helping at all, just sort of dancing around and shooting arrows at the ceiling while he laughed at the new kids. He's going back to fighter as soon as they make it back to Olra; he's very good about skipping out of the way to protect his own skin but he's pretty willy nilly about doing any actual fighting as a ranger Brat.
