Hello I am in the middle of the suppression quest(griffons) an I can't get the $&@*ers to fight me they just fly around for a little then leave how do you lure them down ect.

 
I do   me some griffons. Iorveth hates them.

@Kaidan Fan - The server tends to pull pawns from your friend list, or your favorites, or pawns you've previously hired to be the ones wandering around. I'd say there are about 20 pawns wandering in Gran Soren, so chances are you'll see at least a few of your friend list. If you pick 'em up and put them in the fenced off area, they don't move as it's disrupted their scripted paths, NPCs generally aren't supposed to be in a pig pen, I guess.

 

Trying to get everyone in a shot is impossible, I tried last night and they start disappearing once there's too many on screen.

 

I still don't know why it constantly throws this purple-skinned, one-eyed woman at me that I probably hired once when I was still using Crenshaw, my very first pawn. I have more than enough friend pawns to fill out the server's roster, yet some are always left out in favor of these randoms and it irks me. As Shinon/Alynna, I never once saw Zihark, (He was in my party in that shot, but after releasing him, I couldn't find him again)  Nicholas, Senex, Gideon, or Talia as wanderers. I would say maybe it's the level difference, but I often see Thorne. And it's not amount of use, either, as there are a few on my friend list that I don't use that still pop up.

I'm stuck in a Fallout 3 fanfic vortex atm, and can't seem to get out. And I'm scared that I will suck at DD, so I'm avoiding it.

DSL is back (I think I may be repeating myself....too much coffee this morning.)! I am going to get on both the PS3 and Xbox today, with DD:DA.

@Stormheart - I will take your Sila around some more, and try and gift her something good.

@Shepen - I will try for a group photo as well. What are your best tips? Jump over fence while carrying the pawns (so as not to end up in "da slamma"), use Radiance with the Elite. Should I equip my two hires with Elite Laterns as well? (I don't bother equipping the hires anymore....mostly because I forget more often than not. )

My poor husband. He saw me eyeing the Xbox over breakfast (now that the DSL is back on), and he knows he will be stuck watching "How it's Made", and "American Pickers" on his tablet. Sorry buddy! (It's our day off, and it is raining, so we are both sort of stuck inside.)

I actually never bother with giving pawns lanterns, I'm sure the extra light can't hurt, but pawns' lanterns give off so little compared to yours, I doubt it makes that big a difference. I could be wrong, though. Give it a shot, let me know, I might give Shinon his back.

 

Start the process at sundown. Don't start early, because by the time you gather everyone, it could be dark. No, it WILL be dark out. It's the lugging bodies from the Venery that takes all the time. And you can't toss them to speed things up, you have to keep placing them down once they start kicking.

 

If you find one wandering pawn isn't cooperating when you want them to stand in a certain direction, they WILL NOT change their mind. Instead, make every OTHER pawn stand in that direction, which they won't mind doing.

 

I found certain places where wandering pawns stand were almost guaranteed to have Friend List pawns, although it could have just been a coincidence, one stands near the exit of the square towards the pawn guild section, another stands at the bottom of the steps beside one of the bridges near the slums. There are tons of pawns in the Venery, but sometimes the server takes a few seconds to load them, so walk a lil' slowly.

 

Hopefully you get a bunch of friend pawns in the Guild area, I usually get like seventeen Daeneryses and a Havel. All our boys tend to hang out with the prostitutes in the Venery.

Bah...I'm post dragon in both Ari's and Ulee's play throughs, right now. But, like I said, I think there are usually a few in the field, and in the market (that wasn't destroyed by a giant gaping hole).

I'll just try a few times, with different hires. I will probably throw on the extra lanterns for 'sheets and goggles', and see how it looks.

Thanks for the tips! (BTW, how do you keep them from kicking you to get out of your grasp? I remember Briana - when she was wandering Gran Soren - did that to Ulee a couple times, when I tried picking her up and hauling her around. Don't ask me why I was doing it....guess I was bored. )

You can't do anything to stop it, all you can do is set them back down once they start really flailing and pick them up again. That's what takes up all the time. I wish the wandering pawns could be like the ones in your party, who don't give two hoots about how long you carry them.

LOL....those little buggers have managed to "kick" nearly a 1000HP out of Ulee.

Now I just can't seem to get them to face the same way. At first, they were all facing the same direction. Then a few of them turned 180 degrees. Soon after, a couple more turned sideways. I am taking a bunch of snaps, but I forgot to add Radiance. So I will try again (with some new recruits), and put Radiance on.

So far I did manage to grab: Briana, Val, Woolie, Thorne, Castor, Thomas, Quintin, Joe. And I have Shinon and Seel with Ulee and Chase.

Went through BBI with my Magick Archer and I think I have a new favorite vocation. I killed a Eliminator in about 12 seconds and I'm not even level 100 yet.

 

I didn't deserve this though....

Thing is, once you kill Daimon Death spawns anywhere. He killed all of my pawns with one swing so I just had to fight him.

I was too low level to actually hurt him but Ricochet Hunter knocked him down a few times.

I'll just line up all of them. Thanks to the "sh-it" being kicked out of Ulee (and me consequently forgetting to health Ulee up), the few shots with her in them are getting "hulkified" by Thomas' coat.

Oh, and I made another change to Chase's face. Minor, but I "think" I might be satisfied now. maybe.

Round two....Slightly better composed, remembered Radiance, and healed Ulee before taking the shots. But! The spawning of the wandering pawns, was extremely poor. I guess I need to start going through my "favorites" list, and unfavorite a bunch of these pawns. I don't think their players are even playing anymore.
This time, I was only able to nab Briana, Woolie (lucked out on finding him), Val, Thorne, and Thomas. This time I had Zihark and Iorveth with Ulee and Chase.

@Stormheart - I am about to switch to the PS3, and take your lady out for a spin. I just need to log on real quick with Ari/Castor, then I will hop on the PS3.

@Curious - Sent Seel home with a Griffon Pinion. In case you still needed one.

@Jay-Jay - Great shots!! MA is a lot of fun, and if you get Death to show up in a corridor area, then Ricochet (with all your magick augments equipped, and stacking four Demon Periapts), is a great way to take Death down within a few run ins (ok, maybe more like 5 or 6 run-ins, but still....lol!)

It's true, once you go MA, you never go BA...ck. Ricochet Hunter butchers garms, Ninefold Bolt destroys eliminators, drakes and living armor, Explosive Volley tears through Wyrms like butter... *happy sigh*

 

@Coldi - ! It's so awesome to see all of our pawns together, isn't it? 

 

I'm not sure exactly how to look at my favorites list, I remember seeing the "remove from favorites" option when you summon them in the rift, but I'd love to clean out my list too.  All these Daeneryses aren't in my favorites, though, the "add to favorites" option is there when I talk to them. And I haven't used any of them since... forever ago.

 

If anyone has any success in getting these randoms removed from the pawn-spawning, let me know.

Great screen shots Jay Jay I will have to try the Magick Archer again I kind of discounted it because it's attacks seemed so slow.@ Chase looks great Wetn0se total hunk lol. Have to say the archer based classes Strider,Ranger and Assassins are my fav classes so far tried the Fighter but it was so boring to play. Meanwhile I am now hopelessly addicted to DDDA haven't been able to put it down.

 

Yeah I favorite the yellow vocations too, I tried Fighter and Mystic Knight but I hated not being able to shoot dragons out the sky. Plus the yellow vocations have some of the coolest looking gear.

@Shepen - I changed Chase's face shape to one of the original face shapes that I used on him (but with the newer eyes/eyebrows (the eye change was many, many months ago, but I retweeked his eyebrows just last week). It has a slightly squarer jaw, and a slightly shorter forehead, than the #37 (I think that was the number I used most often for him...??).

I love seeing all our pawns together as well. Now if they would just cooperate better!

I know I have unfavorited some pawns in the past (since I believe you can only have 50 at a time....??), I don't "think" I have seen them wandering, but it isn't like I remember all of them either. I am just going to approach a couple (especially the ones only wearing Everfall gear and have lower levels....doubt they are being played with any longer), and "unfavorite" them. Of course, I will have to wait to do that now, since I am switching over to Ari/Castor.

I love how Chase looks. 

 

I found a thumb drive the other day so maybe I'll try making another Arisen/Pawn.  But I want to finish up this play through of Arowyn first.  I can't wait to be max fighter so I can switch again, fighter is so boring! I'd love to max all the vocations eventually.  I think I was halfway through strider before I changed to archer and never looked back.  ( I LOVED archer). So maybe after strider I can do a sorcerer so I can do ranged.  I really prefer playing as ranged.

I switched Castor to Mage, since so many of our little pawn group is set for Sorcerer. Just trying to get some of his magic up.

As for the PS3, I currently have Sila and A.K. Frost in my group. Since Sila is set for Fighter, I switched F!Chase for Ranger again. A.K. did get scythed, but I went directly to a Rift Stone, and grabbed him again, so he should be sent home (when I send him home) with full stars.

Damn @Carcharoth! That looks awesome. Both you and Shepen are much better at getting them facing the same direction. Mine end up looking like some sort of pawn cocktail party. LOL! I noticed you put them very close to the back of the fence. Maybe that helps. I'll try that next time.

Entirely by accident, I assure you. Thomas was facing the wrong way for a while, but after I came back from hunting down a few more pawns he was facing the same way as everyone else.

I switched Castor to Mage, since so many of our little pawn group is set for Sorcerer. Just trying to get some of his magic up.

 

Zi hit level 100 today, so he's gonna be all over the place for the remaining 100. No more sticking to sorcerer. His magic (+ Sanguine Stalk) is already higher than Shinon's strength + Revenant Wail.

Squee, I confess I do love archer!Seel. I wish the "blue" armor and clothes were more varied and as cool. Oh, and OT, FYI, the Cullen thread celebrated 1000 pages so I'm totally out of "likes" (which is why I haven't liked anything in this thread lately)

 

Okay, I kinda wanna see a side-by-side comparison of old and new Chase because he looks like the same dashing bimbo to me I'm not very good at noticing those subtle differences. Exhibit 1: Seel's eyebrows never change color with his hair. Dying your eyebrows is not recommended, doncha know!
