So I realized I have 5o poison arrows, 30 Sleeper arrows etc. and I have no idea how to equip them or have a pawn use them

I'm a Magick Archer and my main pawn is a Ranger. How do I use them?!

I think all you have to do is click on them in your inventory, select use, then exit out. When you string your bow, you should see an amount of arrows on the right-hand side of the screen (like a little arrow icon with the number of arrows).

That's all there is to it. Same step with pawns, except you just select give in the inventory first.

Edit: Lol, just noticed when this was posted. I'm sure you figured it out by now.

My one issue so far with the game: I've never been able to see who hired my pawn, and i've never seen any reviews from other players. I get the items, but that's it. The "accessing server" window hangs there a while, and then I'm back to playing. I'd really like to see who gave me a wakestone shard, because those things are pricey and rare.

If you hired a big lump of a fighter named Crenshaw, (named after Jimmy Clem's delightful character from Boggy Creek II, a MST3K movie) that's mah boy. He's far too eloquent in the game, though.

When your pawn comes back to you without telling you who hired him, it's a scripted event. You'll always get info on who used your pawn if he was indeed used by an actual player.

Wait. So on top of locking off portions of the map to sell later in DLC's, adding in DLC on the disc, and selling rift crystals for money, they're also advertising their DLC's while you're playing the game? Yeah, I'm not picking this sh*t up at all now.

Image IPB

Wow... wow... wowie wow wow... I'm having a hell of a time wrapping my head around that one. Did Nexon buy out Capcom while I wasn't looking or something?

Seriously, I thought the "Buy DLC" popup after you beat ME3 was bad, but this... this is bad. If they pull something like this with RE6, it's game over for Capcom - I'll never buy another product from them again.

Wait....what?????

No buy for me.

I haven't progressed much intothe game but so far the portions that looked greyed out in the map are either really unreachable (really steep slope, can't climb) or deep water. You can't swim, you get teleported to shore after the water noms you.

Got the game the other day. I think this game is absolutely awesome! Decent soundtrack, cool pawns, excellent battle system. Don't care for the conversations or the fact that everyone in my home town is apparently my cousin.

I'm really loving the game too, but I do agree it is weird that everyone in Cassardis calls you cousin. I know the game is determined in going the ye olde english route, but was cousin ever a common address for a friend/neighbor?

Okay, I went against my word and better judgement and bought the game anyway.  :pinched:

But so far, I'm enjoying it. In fact (after playing for about 10 hours), I'm enjoying this way more than I did with Skyrim.
I have it for the xbox 360, but I haven't witnessed any pop-up dlc ads, lack of framerate, or glitches...at least not yet.
You can even take pictures. :P

Here's me and my pawn, Bjorn...he he

BTW, in this game, trolls are aroused by females.

Spoilers...(I think?)

All of my pawns were guys so when we were facing a troll one of them screamed "Be careful! This beast is aroused by females!" *camera shows my characters face*
At first I was like:
Then (when I saw that troll passing all of my pawns and was charging towards me) I went:

Just got the game the other day and I'm loving it so far. Conversations with NPCs leave something to be desired, and it feels a little weird to have a silent protagonist again, but the scenery is gorgeous and the combat is really refreshing. Feels like a pretty good investment so far.

My only complaint is that my Arisen turned out a lot more..ahem, butch than she looked in the character creation screen, lol.

So far i fought my way through a small army of saurions while looking for a snakeskin purse, and i was almost murked by killer brine. I've seen killer bunnies, and hamsters but killer brine is a new one.

I'd wondered if that was the case. Odd, though, that my brother hired my pawn pretty much from the start and released him with a gift, and i never got his review. I got the moldy berry he sent (how thoughtful) but that's it. Could have been just a coincidence that i got a moldy berry, though.

At any rate, I'm starting to get actual reviews now.

And I sent a mage named Chakwas away yesterday with a skeleton key and a glowing review. Shame there was no "the next Serrice Ice Brandy's on me" in the ready-made comments.

I just read IGN's review of the game and was a bit surprised by how low they rated it. Honestly, I'm having more fun with this than I did with Skryim.

Sort of spoilery...maybe? Well in regards to combat, anyway..

But I just need to pop in quick and say how spooky and great the ghosts (phantoms) are in this. I'm trying to amble through the Witchwood at night and I encountered a few whisps. Creepy children's laughter, a woman's screaming, and the chance for possession? It was a pretty fun and ambient fight all in all.

Anybody have any info on the romance system yet? Can't find anything around the internets about it. I've heard there's a set of LIs, but does anyone know who they are?

While I haven't heard anything in regards to a romance system, if there is one, it's guaranteed to be tied in with the affinity/gift thingy. Some gifts actually have names of people that prefer them in the description, not just "bandits" or "Cassardian males." I think the ancient scroll item is "favored by Aldous" or something. Don't know who he is yet.

edit: although, I DID tell my pawn to act like "my ideal spouse." Apparently that involves breaking absolutely every crate everywhere and looting things before I'm able to, usually running forward and saying "I'll take that" as I'm trying to pick something up.

He's like 19 kinds of sexy. ;)

I haven't really heard anything yet or seen anything in the game. I will say some of the descriptions of certain characters on the official website are...strange, like they could be promoting them as romance interests. Some of these characters have an "unknown" relationship descriptor, which is also odd.

I did get a gift from one of the fishing guys (Valmiro - who is one of the characters I mentioned being highlighted on the official website), but I'm not sure if that was just recompense for me giving him a knife or not.

SNIP

With IGN, I've noticed that they compare everything to either CoD or Skyrim. If it isn't one of the above, they usually mark it down. They are one of the worst places to check reviews. For some reason, though, I keep checking their scores Image IPB. Yeah, they marked DD pretty low--75/100.

Ppl still pay attention to reviews from the mainstream sites ? Isn't it obvious that there's a bias going on ?

I'm interested in this game, but I also hear some fairly strong negatives and the idea of locked DLC content is very discouraging.

So i caved in and got the game, i quite like it the combat is fun especially against Chimeras and other large beasts.

While pawns are helpful and all the fact that they dont shut up and can sat the same thing over and over when going through an area you've been before can be quite annoying, also during combat when they grab on to lets say a goblin and a little cut cinamatic with them going "Strike now Arisen" can be quite jarring to me so i had to turn that off in the options.

Exploration is quite fun as well and the fact that this game runs on an day/night cycle adds to it, with undead, phantoms ect only apprearing at night. i havn't progressed that much into the main story but, just doing side quests and exploring.

Finally i havnt seen any pop ups about DLC when playing....thats because im not connected to XBL while playing, either that or i just havnt notcied but i doubt it just pops right up in your face saying " BUY OUR DLC NOW!!!" all in all a decent game so far.

Initial thoughts after a few hours:

- Character customization is pretty deep.  My character kinda looks like Yuna from FFX. Could use more options. Eye and hair color should have been on a gradient wheel. I want pink neon hair, damnit! :)

- The atmosphere is great. I feel tense at night while fighting and wandering around. More so than in The Witcher.

- Combat is awesome as a ranger. Switching between a bow and daggers on the fly is very seamless. I haven't died yet!

- Love the exploration and world design. Thank god we can jump and grab ledges.

- Graphics are good overall. Plagued by low resolution details and textures though. Encountered a little slowdown on the PS3 version.

- The camera and FOV could be better. I think it's too close to our character.

- Needs more blood. No decapitations and severing limbs? :)
In short, I can envision myself playing this game for a very long time. :wizard:

I really hope that option isn't required to "romance" your main pawn, since that would mean that I had to make new game...and I just hit level 25. :(

Also, yay more pictures! :P
