Oh no worries, he's extremely sexy in Japanese Honestly, EVERYone is sexier in Japanese; Reynard makes me want to huggle him, his voice is just THAT cute. And Valmiro is also adorable, and Ser Max is so deep and serious and HAWT! 

 

Now, the only exception is apparently Barnaby, who I thought sounded fine in Japanese, but Shep confirms that it's nothing compared to his English voice I'll take her word for it!

@Curious - I haven't really played the game in Japanese.  Reynard's English voice is a bit pants, Valmiro's is alright, I do like Ser Max's voice, but ever since he tried to kill my Arisen, I have gone right off him (although he did apologise first!)  

 

Barnaby's voice is good, it sounds American but quite theatrical (I could see Barnaby in a Shakespearean play) - it has a nice tone.

 

The worst voice is Mathias - worse Irish accent ever! Thinking about that, I think I am going to switch to the Japanese voices!

Also I prefer the pawn voices in Japanese. The Japanese dialogue is very modern and casual (thought still very polite, ESPECIALLY the pawns; they use extremely polite language... not that I really speak Japanese but I can pick up things here and there). But the English voices are very prim and proper, and the pawns sound as if they have no personality whatsoever... they also kind of sound bored lol Which is appropriate because they're pawns... but I feel the Japanese voices really fit "our" pawns and all their ridiculous personality quirks. 

 

I'm still sad that Arya's original voice, #5, which sounded so amazing in Japanese, ended up sounding awful in English, so I had to change it. Now she sounds just like Gabs, which is fine, but I had always associated "that" voice with Gabs, so it sounds weird.

Hope you have better luck with the JP voices than I did, for me it sounded like I was at an anime convention.

 

Well, people in anime usually speak Japanese, so perhaps that's why

Oh, it's an exception, all right. Alynna met Japanese Barnaby and had a long discussion about the everfall, and she wasn't reduced into a puddle of girlish giggles at the end of it. That's not supposed to happen. Especially when one of his lines was "Would that I could understand your tumult, and share in it with you." Sweet Christmas.
 
But yeah, the rest of the voices seemed fine. Well, the ones I heard.  After I heard Barnaby I NOPEd my way to the options menu and changed it back.

I honestly almost quit an amazing game because of this. There was no English voice option, although it would probably wouldn't have helped much anyway. It was a horror game for the PSP, Corpse Party. A good chunk of the female characters' dialogue was shrieked at you, and I played using earphones. I still whole-heartedly recommend the game, though. Just take breaks to rest your ears occasionally.

I'll have to listen to English!Barnaby again some day. I know I tried it out once, just to see what all the fuss was about. I remember thinking it was fine, but didn't experience any ear-gasming I like Barnaby's whole personality though, and I think both voices suit him. He sort of has that "I will serve you" aura about him, which is pretty sexy LOL

Yeesh. I don't usually encounter this in anime because, well, I avoid the anime that caters to teenaged boys lol That's where you find most of the shrieky school girl characters (usually with massive boobs and short skirts to boot).

Aren't most anime aimed at teenagers anyways, just that some of them are more geared towards males (Naruto) and females (Sailormoon)? 

 

Not to get too off topic... but no, not really. Naturo is shounen anime (for boys) and Sailor Moon is shoujo (for girls) but there's also, for example, josei anime/manga that is aimed towards adult women. Anime also comes in different genre, just like other types of television; it's not all action. There's drama, romance, horror, mystery, and everything in between. Then there are anime like Tiger & Bunny that really don't fit any particular category or age group; though for that particular anime I think it suits an adult audience best since it centers around consumerism, plus there's the fact that its protagonist is 40+ and has anxiety about aging and being useless.

@Shepen - Bwahahaha! I absolutely adore this!! And Arya with the blonde tresses.... it. I am with Curious, love the fact that you stuck Rook in there. I may need to pick Rook up again. I need to raise the XP value on the guards a bit, to finish out the MK vocation for Ari, so he could easily fit that bill. LOL! Though I suspect I will be spending most my time reviving him.

SOOOOOO!! Ari and Castor finished off AD. I had Arya and Chase with them, for the final push (Bloodless Stockade, Sparyard, and Fallen City). I was shocked that I managed to get a decent shot of Ninefold bolt, at AD, to stagger him out of the Vortex (where Chase was about to be sucked in). I only say that, since Ari isn't that high on magic, and I had run out of periapts (still had Salomet's potions though). In that little run though, I manage to get three lvl.3 weapons (thank you Mr. Firedrake in the Sparyard - godsbaned for the other two). I actually got two weapons, on my list. The Darkening Storm bow and the Dread Aspis shield. I also got one lvl.3 Armor on that trip, and it was Boots of Oblivion, which I also didn't have. Freaking awesome haul.

I do have some pics, but I still need to grab them off of FB. Once again, most aren't that great since I was playing MA. However, I switched to Assassin after getting the two lvl.3 weapons (since I can upgrade both of them with that vocation). Snapped a couple shots before calling it a night. Oh! On a side note, I actually had a Thunderwyvern drop a lvl.3 Armor. I have personally never had that happen before. Maybe carrying around those dame dragon-kind "tears" is helping. *shrug*

Coldy ~ You can godsbane for lvl. 3 weapons in Sparyard?! What chests? I thought the two chests by the overhang only produced lvl. 3 gear and ... whatever the other thing is called, the trinkets and what not lol

 

Note to Shep: I usually visit the pawn community on my iPad, and the site is kind of annoying to navigate; every time you like or comment on a snapshot, the only way to return is to hit back, and it takes you all the way to the top of the page. So I just want to apologize if I sometimes don't get to all your shots
