Um... The article says March 27 for US. So, if that is it's Japan release, that means we get it at the same time!

It's probably like DMC and Resident Evil where the English was either done at the same time or even in Japan, the voice acting is english with Japanese subtitles.

You're forced a certain male character right? For this, I don't have much interest.

RPGamer13 wrote...
The earlier previews when I first heard of the game never mentioned a character creator or much less the ability to play a female character.

Guess I will be looking out for this game then.

I'm sorry but stuff like this is just so ridiculously childish.

It's as bad as these children I saw refusing to play Portal because the main character is a girl.

What's so bad and childish about having a preference? If she/he wants to play as a girl character and only buys games that interest her preference, I really see no problem in that.

She's a he actully.

As to the PC release, Capcom has been moving more and more toward the US Market with many of its latest titles being aimed clearly for it, no surprise. Also it comes out in March for the US. Wonder why the long delay for Europe.

Click.

Griffin boss battle again, this time showing the beginning.

The game is really starting to look awesome. The video also shows the player running about in town for a while.

This part is funny, the player picks one of his companions up who is bigger than him:

Click.

And here, this player does some flying badass jump attack by combining magic with brute strength:

Click.

Forget Kingdoms of Amalur, this game looks like it's going to be the best fantasy RPG of next year.

The animation in this game is about a billion times better than Skyrim, that Griffin is amazing. The graphics and effects are great too.

Thanks for keeping this updated, Elton John is dead. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this. Maybe it's just me, but for how large a budget and team Capcom claims they have for this, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of hype even though it's coming out in a few months.
Also, I'm wondering since it's open world and they say it has possibly a hundred hours of gameplay and it has cutscenes, will this be on multiple disks for the 360?

Apologies if its been asked before, but is this going to be an open world sand box or a directly linear action rpg? After looking at the art direction for this looks pretty good and the character creator seems to be very in depth, which is always a plus.

It's open world.

Its looking pretty good. I've been looking for a medieval themed game I could get into. I tried to replay DAo and DA2 and couldn't get myself to care enough to get to the deep roads, and that's saying something.

I'm really liking this Manticore they showed at E3 last year, I wish I caught on to this sooner.

There are so many pc games I wish I could play, so hopefully we can get something on consoles to get you guys jealous.

The only thing I'm concerned with is that I never particularly enjoyed Capcom games. But this seems like they're truly venturing in a different direction than Devil may cry or Resident Evil, so the closer we get to March, the better I can decipher if it'll be something that I'll pick up on release day.

Joke right?

Red Dead Redemption especially
Demon's Soul
Dark Soul
Halo 3
Gears of War 2 and 3

Crap load of jrpgs. Japanese devs seem to not care for PC.

It's not a day one buy for me. Capcom can make either great games or bad games there is no middle ground imo. I have a PS3 that I don't play much so I could play it on there but I'd rather play on PC. Either way I'll wait for reviews Elton John is Dead's opinion and a few others. I also have Kingdom's of Amalur to look forward to.

I am reasonably confident Capcom will bring Dragon's Dogma to the PC. Capcom is planning to release PC versions of Street Fighter X Tekken and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City so an RPG only seems natural right? :D

One would think.

I'm still salivating over the bows. Definitely has me contemplating playing a ranger. The only other game I've played with cool looking bows like that was Final Fantasy XI. I played a Samurai and their top three skills were Katana, Polearm, and Archery. They had bows specifically for the Samurai class and I liked their designs.

I'm loving Dragon's Dogma's bows from the two in the video, then it was cool to see how quick it was to switch to melee. And stamina system looks awesome, no more worrying about mana that doesn't automatically recharge for magic users.

The pc library is seemingly infinite! My computers are standard, so anything that comes out for the past few years wont run well on any of them.

I think I'm gonna copy you and wait for a few reviews. I've been satisfied with the last few release days I got recently (Uncharted 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Batman Arkham City) but after I got DA2 on its release day, I should be more careful.

Not that I have heard of but we shall see.

By the way, new info:

http://www.computera...-as-we-know-it/

According to this article, you can have random encounters with giant enemies like that golem. This confirms what I suspected upon seeing screen shots of several "boss" enemies in different places of the world. I'd love it if a griffon was a random encounter (and judging by the screen shots, it could well be as some screen shots show the player fighting a griffon in different places of the world) as the griffon in that video looked amazing as it swooped down.

The projected campaign time is hours. But to be fair, in my experience story heavy rpgs tend to tend to stay in that range. the 100+ hours ones tend to be tedious and full of nothing but exploring.

Anyone know what the expected rating is supposed to be?

It'll be interesting to see if the writing is quality or cliche. I've seen some pretty horrendous notions of what Japanese devs think western gamers want.

It does look interesting, but some of the animations lead me to believe that it might underwhelm. I mean, it uses the same engine as Lost Planet 2 and that game had one of the worst cameras/general set of controls in any 3PS I've played (but it had very good visuals, much like Dragons Dogma seems to). Idk, hopefully they have tweaked the engine enough that it actually feels solid. I just hope they fixed the damn falling animation cause when I saw it last the PC just falls while still in a normal standing position and it annoyed me a lot. :P

Looks awesome. That twister is amazing.

Here's an interview. They cite Game of Thrones as an influence, which is a good thing.

I went on the Japanese site and found some cool pictures, none of which I could get links to or find posted on other sites. The majority is in Japanese, but the links to the different sections are in english. ONe was under the class section and the Warrior class, it shows a character with a drawn two handed sword and that thing is huge.

I don't know if it's all of them, but the site lists 9 classes, two upgrades to each of the three archetypes.

Fighter
Strider
Mage

Warrior
Ranger
Sorcerer

Mystic Knight
Assassin
Magic Archer

I don't know whether they're tiers or the second two are just one of two different upgrades to the base classes. I just know that I'm going to make my character a Warrior.
