I really hope that option isn't required to "romance" your main pawn, since that would mean that I had to make new game...and I just hit level 25. :(

Also, yay more pictures! :P

It was just a random response from a knowledge chair session, i think... I chose it because I figured it'd result in him protecting me more. Didn't really work, but he is always first to react if i get pinned by a direwolf that won't let me finish casting my spells.

Also, I highly doubt romance is an option for pawns. They say they're not human, and they lack emotions. I mean, you have to tell them to sound angry when something attacks you.

I love this game, it was a hidden gem. My sister bought it for me (she saw the RE6 early demo thing and she knows I love the RE series).

The action is top notch, and the exploration is awesome, I am getting into this game. I have to PLAN my side-quests, because at night it is literally pitchblack.

Tons of quests as well. The only bad thing I hate is the baddies do not scale with ya, so there are areas that will chew ya up, I wish there was more of a warning. Maybe your buddies saying "YO WE ARE NOT AWESOME ENOUGH FOR THIS AREA YET YO".

That's another thing; your party members. I wished they would have fleshed them out more. Aside from your main pawn, is there a way to level the other 2? Or do you guys keep switching em out?

I use my brother's pawn all the time, I just have to keep releasing/rehiring him so it'll register that he's gained levels. While your pawn info uploads when you stay at an inn, it won't take effect on anyone's game until they rehire your pawn, they're stuck at whatever level they were hired. I wish everyone's pawns would update after a stay at an inn. :(

Tip for those playing as a female mage: make SURE you have another female in your party. If you don't, you're pretty much ogre food. They will actively pursue you, and you can only run/levitate so much before they catch you. They don't seem to notice the three guys climbing all over them and slashing their faces.

So jealous, haha. My copy should arrive monday or tuesday though. I had to reorder it because I forgot to update my payment info. I was going to get the pre-order weapons. But then I thought about it and I guess it doesn't really matter. Now hopefully the package I'm getting sent from home makes it before or at the same time as the game.

In the demo I made my main character tall and muscular. My main pawn I made shorter and less muscular, but still she isn't frail looking either.

@Shepenwepet:
About the ogre, I had to figure that out the hard way...on a very narrow and dark hallway no less. I was running for my life while one of my pawns was probably thinking "Run *****! That's what you get for throwing me off a cliff!!!"

But it's still funny though, I think I'll just be the only female in the party (I'm an archer mage) since it makes the situation funnier and makes my character fell special.

Also, on that same note, make sure you and your companions/pawns are all female when heading into the all female bandit camps. Otherwise, they'll attack you on the spot. :bandit:

Haven't seen any all-female bandit camps yet, I've mostly been running around the river looking for someone's stupid snakeskin purse they lost. I'm this close to raining meteors all over Gran Soren, I'm so frustrated with it. I've been up and down that river about four times. THERE'S NO PURSE.

100% chance I'll stumble upon it when I'm not looking for it.

Why the hell would you ever want enemies to scale to your level ?    That's a positive, not a negative, FFS.

@ bussin

Because no one ever tells me if that bandit over there is a freaking super sayin..and I just killed a mob of bandits before him and guess what, THEY LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME.

If the god damn game would tell me, fine. But since you figure out once you get one shotted...it gets repetitive

I love that. It shouldn't warn me. Level scaling ruined Oblivion for me.

Yea, level scaling is beyond atrocious. It goes against a basic principle of rpgs. What is even the point of leveling up, if everything is gonna be on your level anyway ?

You don't just go storming into Dracula's castle at the beginning of the game. I CAN'T STAND the design of.. Go wherever you want. You don't have to worry about getting killed, all the monsters will be scaled to your level anyway !

Ehh I prefer something in the middle. Like area based levels, but in those they do scale to an extent. Kinda how Fallout handles it, that seems to work the best, so that if you go to all but the lowest leveled regions it won't be a cake walk.

Actually your pawns do say  "be careful, the monsters here are harder" or something like that. They also mention what kind of enemies you'll possibly encounter. Probably only happens if that pawn has already traveled to that area when he got hired by someone else.

"I sense something like a bird...or bigger."  Sure enough there was a griffon.
"Be careful, this is harpy territory."  Ice harpy thingies came swooping down.
"Bandits may be lurking."  Super saiyan bandits appear.

I'm wondering the same. From what everyone on the boards have been posting, I'm guessing it should get a score around 85-90, but IGN and some other places have it around 75-60 or so. Don't forget these are the same review sites that totally bombed Alpha Protocol and New Vegas, but they gave Fallout: 3 and Dragon Age: 2 a high to perfect score. Oh, and I've been seeing some commercials for the game out (including the Dragon Age anime which looks terrible), and the commercials look nice.

I really hope to get this game in the mail soon. My pre-order copy is taking forever to arrive Image IPB.

Hi, can anyone explain the romance aspect to me? I haven't wanted to read many spoilers because I don't have the game, but based on the little I could find on it and that I allowed myself to read, it seems the romance is only concluded in the ending based on your actions during the game. So like, you won't know which romance you get until the ending. Is this right?

Also, I've only heard of straight and lesbian romance options. Are those the only options? When I heard that Capcom was taking inspiration from western game studios when deciding to include same-sex romances, I honestly thought it meant for both genders and not just the lesbians-for-straight-males romances.

I still hesitate. I don't have 300 hours to pour into games nowadays and I cannot play a game without doing everything. Heck, in all my Bioware games playthrough, I can't bring myself to skip dialogue or quests, no matter what number the playthrough it is. I just always need the full experience, you know, as if it were my first and only.

However if it's true that the only same-sex romances are lesbian ones, I can say right now that I will not be happy about that double standard and will probably skip the game out of retaliation. I've read that a female childhood friend is presented as the main romance option for both male and female Arisen's. Haven't heard much besides that.  Haven't even heard if a female Arisen has male options.

From what I understand, the romance elements in the game are so mimimal that if that's what you want to get it for, you may as well skip it in the first place.  *Looks around*  It seems that romance sometimes has to do with who you have the highest affinity with which can include male homosexual relationships.  I wouldn't read this because it includes spoilers, but it confirms this to be the case.

Either:
A) It's not Skyrim and any other rpg that isn't "Skyrim" automatically gets the boot. *shrugs*
B) It's from Capcom...
C) they weren't paid to give it a higher score... No money= No Higher Score
D) They really think the game is mediocre (to them at least)
or...

E) It's not skyrim...

For me personally, I can't voice my opinion yet since I haven't finished the game. Maybe it'll pull a ME3 at the end...-I hope not-:?

How is this game?
I was looking at it in stores today and was wondering if it was worth the buy or not?
Details, please.
