BTW, how do you manage to get those near kisses/hugs/intimate moments?? I have gotten lucky a couple of times, but usually if I try for them, I fail miserably.

 

Well, there are a few ways to do it, all of which are a bit of a crapshoot. It depends on if your subjects are both pawns or a pawn and an NPC.

Also, hugs are easy, kisses are not, which is why I gave up. The Zihark/Barnaby was a complete fluke. I'll sometimes activate Lyncean when I notice my pawns gather close to each other, because there's usually something I can use.

 

If both your subjects are pawns, just jump onto one of the boats by the Cassardis pier or the one on BBI. Your pawns will smoosh together after a while, and you can "reset" them by commanding them to "go" if they don't settle where you want,  but I've never been really lucky there.

was gotten while trying to get a different shot, which uses the pawn "brushing themselves off" animation, right near the end they raise their arms, which can look like they're hugging if you place them right. (If it's a stationary NPC they're "hugging", just place the pawn directly in front, slightly on the NPC's left side, then dash away and enter lyncean. If it's a moving target, namely an escort quest NPC, you have to put your pawn a bit farther ahead of them, because usually when you enter lyncean, the NPC will run toward you. They usually run just where you don't want them to. Creepy Barnaby in my avatar pic is this, as is Pissed-Off-Post-Ass-Grab Barnaby from a few posts above here.

I didn't get to play much this weekend, although I did manage a mini-marathon tonight. (4 hours, although I was away for most of it. Distractions aplenty.)

 

I'd been experimenting with the commands and their animations, looking for things I can use in the future. It only occurred to me several hours later that all of my testing would be in vain (I was testing on Asalam) because as soon as I activate a command, pawns move. Oh well. I did find SOMETHING of note, however. Placing an NPC near a corner or wall and then rolling into them can sometimes result in something like this when you stand up, but it only lasts for a second before the NPC is booted out of your space,

Yep, the Dodge Roll. It's available for any class that uses daggers, and should show up on your dagger skill buttons if you bought it (it's a core skill). It's one of the many reasons I can't go back to mage/sorcerer. I can't live without my dodge roll.

 

How good Dragon's Dogma? Should I get it?

I think there's still a demo available. Give it a whirl. Although be warned, the story and characters are mostly terrible. But the combat is something else.

@SmilesAJ - Definitely give it a try (as Shepen suggested). Buying Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is getting cheaper. Online, you can find it from anywhere between $20+ to 29.95. This gives you the full original DD game, plus the expansion, Bitter Black Island.

I concur with Shepen, that the story is lacking. But it more than makes up for it with Character Creation, character builds, loots, upgrading, vocations and combat. Toss in the online pawn exchange, and the fact you can take "snapshots" in-game (uploaded to FB if on Xbox, or HDD if on PS3), and you have a "romp" of a game.

@Shepen - I have done that rolling thing, but never been quick enough on the damn start button!! It is now my goal to get a shot of that, since seeing yours. Too funny. heh!!

@Curious - good luck on getting your Internet back up and running. See?? Something in the galactic alignments; internet has gone cray-cray with waaaaay too many people as of late (myself included) .

As predicted, I have not had access to the tv, since buying GT 6 for my husband. I am taking a short day tomorrow, so I may try and jump on for a bit. Hell, I might even do it now, since Rog is already in bed (of course, I am yawning as I type this, so......)

Notes on item gifting.

 

DO NOT GIFT MORE THAN 10 ITEMS AND EQUIPMENT AT A TIME! Although it is possible to equip 12 pieces of equipment to a Hired Pawn and gift 1 item, DO NOT EXCEED 10 total items and equipment. Delivering more than 10 items and equipment at one time will exceed the server capacity for stored rents resulting in items lost (for both players), no Rift Crystal gain and a 3/3/3 review. To gift additional items, release the item-maxed Hired Pawn in a Rift Stone and then immediately re-hire them to gift an item again (or exit the Rift Stone to equip more equipment onto the pawn before releasing them again).

• Warning: It is necessary for the Pawn's Arisen to rest to accept the items when sending multiple items to the same Pawn. Penalties may not be incurred but it is possible that the first batch may be overwritten by a subsequent batch regardless of whether or not the ten item limit is exceeded between the two batches.

   

 

There have been reported instances of equipment and items failing and turning into rocks when sent. Again, be sure to be prepared to lose sent equipment.

 

Backing up saves, trading, and restoring the backup file after the trade to prevent losing equipment will get players trade-banned. Capcom’s server will pick up on this. Once banned, all attempted gifts will turn into rocks. Ban length can last from 24 to 72 hours; it can be permanent. A trade-banned GT/PSN will also earn no RC.

I can take care of the Abyssinal set, so that'll be be 3 items (both my outfits are goldforged). As long as we don't go over the limit, we should be good. I'll send it as soon as I get on, which should be in a couple hours.

 

I'm taking today as a me day. I'm sure something will come along to try to sabotage that, but I'm gonna try anyway.

Wow, guys...  Thank you  I did not expect that  It's hard remembering everything I lost, but when it comes to irreplaceables... all I can remember off the top of my head was my abyssinal coat and Siegfrid mask. I believe the Conqueror's Mantle is available at the Black Cat? So Rohan can just buy and DF another one of those.  A few other items that were hard for me to get and DF, but I will not ask for those b/c Carcharoth is right; this is my fault. Fortunately it was mostly fighter/warrior stuff, and I rarely play either Rohan or Seel as that class (well Seel gets to be a fighter sometimes but not too much). But yeah, I've only managed to kill Online Mr. Ur once, so if you guys have an extra abyssinal coat or Siegfrid mask to give away I'd be grateful and honored 

 

At this point I am afriad to sent stuff between Rohan/Dai and Kael, so I think I will just hold off on doing that, at least if it is a very important item. I was thinking Seel and Kelly could share a few hard to get items, but not anymore. (For example, I think Kelly has Dai's Dragon's Dogma sword, which is fine because I don't think Arya carries it much.

 

I just get too excited with Kelly I want to make him super bad a$$ and look good, too lol but I guess I should be more patient.

I sent the Abyssinal set this morning along with an Armor Lv. 2 (I think, I know I didn't have any 3s on me). I'm now trying to dragonforge an oily longsword for Shinon. He dug it out of storage and demanded to use it.

Oh, thank you  woo a whole set, hehe So I am thinking it was because I was offline for so long. As soon as I was able to be online, I hopped on DD: DA and loaded up Rohan/Seel. 15 minutes later, sent Kelly back with all the gifts and switched accounts. I think next time I need to wait the usual 24 hours before sending anything. It's just as if I'd switched from Arya to Seel and then tried to send something to someone. Disaster.

I admit, I didn't know about the general item cap, but that would explain something I know happened, way back when, when I first started playing Ulee and Chase online. So thank you @Carcharoth, for the info!

Ahh, well... I have always wanted to ask y'all for stuff but I feel bad about it for some reason. Plus also there's the constant drill sergeant in my head constantly telling me I have to earn all my own stuff. BUT since you asked... one of the things I know for a fact I lost were DFed mellorian arm guards. I'm sure I spell that wrong. As for the other stuff, I can't remember specifics. Just shirts and pants and boots, various kinds. 

 

But... I will say that this Monday was my birthday so maybe just once I could ask for a few things? I have long lusted after a pair of carmine breeches for Arya and/or Kelly. I do have one pair, but they are gold-forged on Seel's account. So it would be awesome to have another pair. No matter how many times I godsbane outside the Dark Bishop's lair all I get are dragon knight cloaks and lordly cloaks. Bleh. 

 

Secondly a lvl 3 2H sword for Arya  Why oh why will the BBI gods continue to deny me this?! Of course it's impossible to gift Arya anything at present so disregard that, but in the future if anyone has any extra lvl 3 weapons... lol

 

I can't think of anything else I would really really want... really though if anyone has any nice fighter stuff they don't want, send it Kelly's way xD I constantly fret over not knowing what to dress him in.

Since Kelly came back with five stars I do not think it was the "too many items" situation. I think it was because I had just returned from being offline for so long. It's something I really should have paused to consider. But being without internet for a full week just left me desperate for some DD:DA action, and I'd been working all week on DFing cool stuff for Kelly so just couldn't wait a second longer to give it to him lol DOH!
