@Shepenwepet - congrats on getting the PS4.  

 

I chose to get the PS4 instead of the XB1 because for me it had better exclusive games that appealed to me more. You will get used to the controller.  I have to admit that I do prefer it a little bit over the Xbox 360 one (which in itself was a better controller than the PS3 one).   I am thenewschmoo (same as my Xbox GT) on Playstation if you want to add me.  I hope you enjoy TLOU.  Just avoid the Clickers!

 

 

I do like playing games on the PC too (cheaper games, faster loading + mods), but I too struggle a bit with K+M.  A lot more games have controller support (such as Skyrim, The Witcher 2 etc) and I know that DAI will have it too.  But I am getting a bit better with the K+M as you can only play DAO and DA2 using them!  It was a shame that DD never came out on the PC.  Just imagine what the modding community could have done to it, given the chance.

 

And lets hope that DD2 does come out on all platforms and that it will be cross gen so we can all use it each others pawns (with technology anything can happen *keeps fingers crossed*)   

 

Edit - does ME3 have controller support?  I have it on Origin and I know that ME and ME2 doesn't and I have to play those with K+M?

You know, I thought ME3 did support controllers, but I just started it up and apparently it does not.  It only has options for key bindings.  The more you know!

@newschmoo - Thank you for the list! I will properly respond to your PM tomorrow morning. I have been using the workshop on Steam, to look up some of your mod suggestions, but I did download a few via nexus, and will manually install them (since there is no conflict). I am quite comfortable with manual installation, so all is good! (and I will gladly test any mod you want to build; I have experience. )

Should DD2 come out as a PS exclusive, then that would be one more reason to choose it first. I will still look at the Xbone. @curious - K+M actually works GREAT with Dragon Age (both DAO and DA2). I also find it works quite well with ME. But, there are a number of games that will let you use a Xbox controller (even older BW games like Jade Empire ), and that would also include DA:I, as Kaidan Fan mentioned.

 

I really , really miss my pawn boys, and their charming friends!!! I will drown my sorrow in Prosecco and Skyrim mods, as Rog races his way to infamy. (cha.....right. )

Well, there's not much to say about the PS4, other than it has that shiny new console smell. I'm not sure how much the interface differs from the PS3 as I really don't remember much of what the PS3's was like.  My tenuous connection to the PSN has me a tad worried, though. My brother and I are looking forward to Hellraid and Dying Light, and if I can't stay connected, those games are useless to me.

 Also, imagine if half of us are on xbox and half are on PS4... and we can't use each other's pawns anymore

@Shepenwepet - I love your profile pic.  It's cute.  There aren't that many good ones to choose from.  It's a shame they don't have similar avatars to Xbox, as I quite like creating a mini-me and dressing it up!

 

I hope that you are able to stay connected for your games. I guess when you talk about your tenuous connection you are talking about your internet connection?  Or do you mean you getting Playstation+?  Anyway, I really hope that the next Dragon's Dogma comes out on all formats.  It would be a real shame for it to just come out on the PS4.  There are a lot of DD Xbox fans out there (plus I'm sure PC players would love to have the chance).  Grigori would be fuming if it became console exclusive

I know that most of us have Dragon's Dogma on the Xbox and a few on the PS3.  I was wondering which formats people were getting DAI for.  I am getting it both for the PS4 (for the achievements, plus I can play on my TV) and on PC.  I wasn't originally going to get it on PC, but the thought of having to wait days whilst everyone else on the other side of the pond got excited (and seeing their shorter countdown clocks) and having a play, left me a little sad.  Plus I want to see the modding possibilities.  I won't be getting any other new games for a while (well not until February when the Witcher 3 and The Order 1886 comes out at birthday time).

I'm getting DAI on PC and 360.  I don't know if I'll ever play the 360 version but I needed it for the complete set cuz I'm OC that way  .

 

I would pretty sad if DD2 came out and was only on PS4.  But here's the thing:  I don't plan on ever buying the Xbox One.  So if it didn't come out on PC (which it probably won't since they won't even give us the first one on PC) I guess I would have to end up buying a PS4 for just that one game .

@Caladin - sorry to hear about your corruption. It is never good when that happens, but as Curious said, it does happen.  It even happened to me (I turned to wine and chocolate) so I now back up saves on a USB stick.  It's a temperamental game!

 

@Kaidan Fan - I keep my fingers crossed DD2 isn't console exclusive.  It wouldn't be good to get the PS4 for just one game (although there are some good titles coming up for it in the near future).  There is a big PC market out there, it would be shame to miss the opportunity.

I agree!  I really feel like more and more people are going back to PC.  Or maybe it's just my bias showing through.  After many, many years of being on Xbox I can say I am really glad I made the switch and I hope that CapCom will see the profit in making it available across all platforms.

Never posted in here before.  I just want to say I love this game.  I would love a sequel.  I love the gameplay and I love the combat.  They hit it out of the park with this game.  It's not perfect.....but it is a hell of a foundation.  I hope this title has a long life ahead of it.

@Chief - It's pretty safe to say that DD is worth your time, although some people just can't get past the less-than-compelling story and chatterbox pawns. Give it a try, at any rate. It's quite addictive.

 

@Car - Thanks for the bonus Woolies! You guys should've seen my attempt to make him purely from memory. I couldn't even remember if he had a beard. I gave up pretty quickly.

 

@Aedan - I'd be happy to take your boys out. Do you still plan on playing? Having your progress wiped a second time probably doesn't exactly encourage you to do so, huh?

Well dammit I screwed up AGAIN and formatted my memory unit, completely wiping out 4 of my DD:DA progresses including my husbando Gaira as well as Darik, Syril and Dimitri so now all of my original accounts are reset back to zero and I no longer have any level 99 or 100 pawns. 

 

So if you want to rent them again they will be low leveled and looking shabby in the future

 

 

 

Sorry to hear about your progress being wiped.  I could never accuse your pawns of looking shabby though.  If I get a chance in between my current playthrough of DAO (why I am doing this, I don't know but I have to finish it now) I will take your pawns out.
