Happy New Year, DD Thread!

 

It's not the post you might be waiting for, but it's something. It also doesn't have the ending I wanted because I can't get all of our pawns to spawn in Gran Soren anymore. It actually doesn't have an ending at all, so blame the stupid DD servers insisting on spitting out pawns I haven't hired since I was level 50. It's entirely possible I'll edit it this later with more stuff.

Arya: Wow, Cassardis went all out for its New Year's celebration, huh? Look at all those fireworks. Beautiful, huh?

 

 

Shinon: It's just a bunch of Magick Archers standing on the dock and firing off hunter bolts.

 

Arya:  It's still pretty! ...So... how was your year, Shi?

 

Shinon: Terrible. It had Zihark in it. Mom gave him all my favorite clothes.

 

Arya: *sigh* Surely your WHOLE year wasn't terrible?

 

Shinon: Well, no. Although that month that Mom left for Thedas was kinda boring. Have you ever kicked about in the rift for thirty days? I don't recommend it. How about you? How was your year?

 

Arya: Same old, same old. Oh, you still owe me a dinner, don't you? 

 

Shinon: Huh? 

 

Arya: Remember when I fixed your hair like mine? It took me all day, and then you undid all my work like an hour later just because you couldn't do your Sexy Hair Flip™? 

 

Shinon: ...yeah. I guess you didn't count when we got kicked out of Chez Mercedes 'cause I went into the kitchen and stole the olive oil.

Chase:  This cape of yours is really soft. What is it? Silk?

 

Gabs:  Beats me. Shinon said it's made of 'nebulas' but I'm sure he doesn't know what that word means.

Gabs: Yep. I'm going to find out once and for all what the Handyman looks like under his mask. 

 

Chase:  You are, are you? I hear he's super secretive about his identity.

 

Gabs: Then perhaps he shouldn't have put "property of Chase Hunt" on the inside of his chest plate.

 

Chase: ...Perhaps he shouldn't have, but if he lost it, how would he get it back?

 

Gabs: He could buy another one brand new for a pittance. With all the money he makes fixing pipes with his giant tool, he's rolling in gold.

Castor: ...Shouldn't you be keeping watch? Isn't that your job?

 

Arya: I'd like a few hours to myself occasionally. I mean, I love the kid, but... ugh, so does everything else. It never ends. 

 

Castor: It's what we signed up for. 

 

Arya: I know, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, really, but... is it too much to ask for a few hours off?

 

Castor: ...I'll keep tabs on Lady Ass-Grabber. Although I don't think she'll do much with Barnaby around.

Shameface. Really late at viewing/responding. Sorry for completely outdated "likes".

I am still stuck in Thedas. Farming for Tier 3 (which is not EVEN as quick as Godsbaning ), trying to make every schematic available, and desparately looking for opportune photo moments. Of course, this means I still haven't visited Gransys or BBI. My poor stinky toons. Heh!

@Shepenwepet - You are freakin' awesome! Loved the New Years spread. Beautiful!

Don't have anything new to add that is relevant to the thread, so I may have to go digging through my old screenies and see what I never posted. (which I think there are quite a few....maybe.)

I've been playing DD here and there, but mostly it's been DAI and Lords of the Fallen (which is approaching mediocre.) I haven't been getting many screenies for DAI, I never think to do so outside of combat. But I may still drop some goodies off in that thread someday.

I think my son mentioned this to me about a month ago.  I super hope they are NOT turning this game into an mmo.  I have been so disappointed by mmos lately and DD was such a great game.  I would much prefer a sequel. Yep. *nods*

Capcom registers Dragons Dogma Online

I made a separate thread a while back on it.

 

It's troubling news. Could the trademark refer to a separate online aspect of the game or will it be a solely online game? Obviously we're all hoping for the former rather than the later.

 

If it's "Dragon's Dogma Online" then I can imagine it being some crappy F2P game rather than a fully fledged release for consoles. Capcom has been stupid plenty of times but I don't see them turning "Dragon's Dogma 2" into a solely online game. I hope that Dragon's Dogma Online will be some F2P (Like Dragon's Dogma Quest) that is just to raise extra funds and more popularity for the eventual sequel to DD. At worst it will be a fully fledged online game that will delay a proper sequel but hopefully it wouldn't be the ultimate direction Capcom are heading in for the series. We all want to see a fully fledged sequel with single player at one point.

 

I hoping this is hinting to a single player Dragon's Dogma 2 with multiplayer as a side feature (so maybe we might expect the ability to play with other people and share all that pawn stuff with some online functionality simply called "Dragon's Dogma Online" which will carry across for future game) because I really want to see a sequel this year or next. 

 

It's been three years already.

 

Hundreds of pages back, you can see me moaning about Capcom's DLC practices and how I thought this game would have tons of it...now I actually wish it did...at least with the form of expansions but we got one expansion and I would have loved for more all extending into 2015 that would have extended the game's life further more. I loved Bitterblack Isle and all the new challenges it presented, I hope the next game ends up with such content along with more modes and difficulties (i.e INSANITY difficulty and hardcore mode) because it would hook me even more than the first.

I don't see Capcom having Deep Down AND Dragon's Dogma Online. I'm hoping DDO is a revamping of the Pawn Community or something. 

 

As for multiplayer, I wouldn't use it very much, but if I could actually play as my pawn in someone else's world? ...look out, you're all getting tarred.
