Soooo Arya is back in the Rift. Your party can now be AWESOME again

 

I had Alynna (only it was really Alynna-but-really-Shinon) in the party, so Arya made Dai hire Gabs, figuring she'd help her keep an eye on Alynna. And do you know, I eventually released Alynna-but-really-Shinon to hire the "real" Alynna, and right after I did so, I realized I'd missed the opportunity to have Dai, two Alynna's, and a very very horrified Arya all in one party. 

 

Also, please tell me Zihark's new look is going to be incorporated into the Report

 

On the business end of things, I played as a mystic knight (badly) as Dai and killed three dragons, all in an attempt to DF some armor for Kelly; the firedrake took me like 20 minutes to kill because Dai's attacks were useless, and the girls seemed to enjoy getting lit on fire. And then of course everything he's wearing DF's EXCEPT the armor. Bah.

Dragons, possessed and/or corrupted arisens, Aelinore's poetry, forged meat and the word "rehab".

 

I would be more concerned if forged meat DIDN'T bother someone.

 

Because everyone is in love with Thomas I mean HOW COULD THEY NOT BE

There might be an easier way to do it, but I haven't found it.

 

Step 1: Equip blast arrows.

Step 2: Toss a pawn against a wall from a fair distance away.

Step 3: Wait for them to begin brushing themselves off. 

Step 4: Aim lyncean sight/comet shot AT THEM. They will most likely be transparent, so begin backing up until they become visible. There is a very short window of time for this, as if you back up too far, you'll get zombie pawns OR they will start running toward you.

Step 5: When they're visible, fire and pause.

I love it! This image reminds me of The Illusive Man from Mass Effect 2. That explosion in the background could easily be the dying star. Just give her a suit and a cigarette and the look is complete.

I'm slowly getting my levels up and am at about 165 now. Still struggling with Ur, think I will watch a couple of YouTube vids tomorrow to get some pointers. No matter what I try I just can't seem to get any significant damage. Ahh well, guess I will try and find more level 3 bitterblack gear for a bit ☺

If it wasn't so late I'd find and mangle a pic of TIM to do this. My photoshop  Paint skills are quite terrible as well, so it takes me like three hours to make anything look halfway decent. Although I did dash this off in like fifteen minutes a few years ago, which did its job.

I'm not sure, but I'm quite liking it. 

 

I can tell you that the tattoo/facepaint is something he let Hilde the nun put on him. I noticed that the three symbols (the third is covered by his dragonwing circlet) are the symbols for ice, fire and lightning (not sure about the last one as I rarely see it). But I thought that was neat.

 

They represent... different things in my crazy little mind.

I sent Talia home with level 3 ring I had a couple weapons I nabbed off some drakes BUT Arya still needs a level 3 2H sword ... and of course they purified into a 1H sword and a shield, sigh.

 

Anyway, Ayra and Dai are finally level infinity, YAY! And I managed to DF that surcoat for Kelly, YAY! I put it on him and am not sure I like how it looks lol I guess maybe there's not a whole lot of swanky fighter gear out there. Now if I could find a royal surcoat for him that'd be the shizzle.

As awesome as that Bitterblack gear is though, I just don't think those dark colours fit her. She really stood out as the lady in white (especially when everyone high up looks similar in those dark armours) so I think I will sacrifice the stat drop and go back to looking awesome in white again

I have to agree with you; she looks awesome all in white and gold; she kind of has that chivalrous aura about her, you know? I am coming to the same conclusion with Kelly, although I do think he can pull off the "dark" look... but only if he's a warrior And I prefer him as a fighter, especially since (I think) fighters are better low level pawns than warriors. Meanwhile, when I try to put Arya in the divine surcoat it just doesn't... work.

I guess BBI doesn't explode with cash like Gransys does) I'll see if I can get Kelly one. I know I just hired him with someone last night, I'll see if I can get him all decked out in new clothes.

Yeah it's the red one, and yeah, the grand is the blue one. I think it is normal to complain about gear when you are level 76 so pay me no heed I just want him to look good AND be wearing all DF material >.> Kind of impossible at this level.

Don't worry I feel your pain with that. I did exactly the same thing 50 pages back!!

I found once you hit the mid 90's and ideally finish the story, the loot drops just continue to get better.

Ugh I'm so happy Thanks so much Shep   And thanks for all the other pieces   They inspired him to be a bit more stylish and go back to being blond; also, he had the "tattoo," erm, removed (It was NOT face paint!! he says).

 

In other news, in case anyone was wondering, Kelly, Chase, and Zihark (with assassin Kael, who mostly sits and watches the show) make an awesome team.

Its getting simpler now and starting again in Hard Mode is starting to get appealing, mainly out of curiosity to see how the game changes.  Other then resistances going up, is the environment terribly different?

You use more stamina and the enemy hits you harder. I haven't noticed any other differences.

Well slightly disappointing, but not surprising really.  I guess the only reason to do it is for the Abyssal Outfit when you fight The Dragon then I assume.

 

Unless you crave more of a challenge!

And the Dukes outfit.  Personally, I think getting a sub twenty minute speed run would be more of a challenge, but I've never tried to optimize my attempts on that.

I might be trying this on the weekend. I know it glitches out with comet shot and lyncean sight (it makes some people have grey hair and wrinkles for some reason, or at least it looks that way.)

 

At least it'll finally give me a reason to actually play the real game with Alynna's save. She's level 140 and just met the duke.

Uh...wot.

I think I have been playing waaaay too many PC games lately. Every screenie I attempt to take, looks like azzz. lol!

I did finally switch to Assassin, so I have Lycean instead of Comet, which has helped. Buuuuut, now the dreaded "error" code pops up, when I try and upload a picture. Fargenbargle!

I switched up Chases outfit, but kept him as Ranger, since it looks to be a number of pawns are set as warrior/fighter types. I might switch him to Strider though, and give him his "toady-todd" outfit.

Talia is doing fantabulous. I still had Zi and Shin, in very old gear/appearances. Going to Godsbane for some lvl.3 Armor, for Talia, then switch things up. Hopefully by then, FB and XBL will be cooperating. Will post new pics soon....I think.

I have solutions to this as well, depending on the error code. All you need is a little persistence. 

 

If you're getting an instant error code 0x83950001, (like as soon as you hit "share") back out of the FB share menu and go back to the pause screen. Re-frame your shot and try again. If you're STILL getting 0x8395001 instantly, wait a few seconds before trying the FB share again. If you get to see the upload bar at all, you're making progress, and it will eventually go through. If at any time it reverts back to the insta-83950001, either give up or back out to the pause menu and try again, depending on your patience.

 

 

Codes ending in ...198 and ...1F8 tend to resolve themselves after a few tries. In all cases, returning to the pause menu and redoing the shot seems to help.

 

There are other error codes that I don't see too often, ones with Ds and 7s in them, those seem to mean there's something wonky with XBL, I haven't gotten a way around those yet.

 

Finally, if the "share" button in the pause menu doesn't light up, go into the options screen and flick through the tabs with LB/RB a few times and return. If it doesn't light up within a few seconds, you might have to unpause and lose your shot. If you immediately pause again, the share button is guaranteed to be lit up and looking smugly at you.

I did finally get some shots (I had the first error code you mentioned ). I kinda suck though. I started the game up rather late, so I didn't change out pawns more than once. Sent Talia home with a lvl. 3 cursed armor though. Also have another one ready to send on with Kelly, once I pick him up.

@Shepen - Zi is looking much different. I like it, but I honestly didn't recognize him. Caught a couple snaps, will post as soon as I grab them off of FB.

Idiot that I was, I forgot to grab some things to DF, and I ended up fighting one Firedrake, Frostwyrm, and two CD's. Ah well. Bit rusty.

Ya know that moment when one of the big baddies (like CD's, Elder Ogres, etc...) decide to show up. The screen goes sort of "sepia", and ripply. Here is my attempt at capturing the boys, while that is going on. Yeah....it's dark.

The blockhead that I am, forgot to equip a lantern at first, so I only got a couple of snaps with Castor in them (that were worth keeping).




Love this shot of Talia. Too bad I couldn't fill out the frame with her whole body. What you can't see, is she a couple meters off the ground, in this shot.

So I did some digging on the wikia, since no matter how many times I used the Lvl.3 Gear I could never get any of the Daggerist bands. (been wanting Thousand Kisses for a while). Turns out with Talia's spec I could never get it...  Strange system sometimes.  Hopefully no my 'luck' will improve there.  Still also waiting on the elite lantern.  Im sure that will eventually drop when I hit infinity

I can send Talia home with an Elite lantern. Easiest way to ensure you are getting gear, for a specific class, is to do the following:

1) Make a save at the starting area of BBI
2) Go to Olra (wait...is that her name??) and switch both yours and your pawn's vocations, to whichever would have the associated gear you are after. (don't bother changing armor or setting skills. Just leave your toons in their small clothes )
3) Have Olra purify the BBI gear, and see what you get.
4) If you don't like the offering, Godsbane, choose Retry, and follow steps two and three, but with a different vocations set.
5) Rinse and repeat, till you get something worthwhile. (same works for armor and weapons as well.)

Oh, and if you already know about all this, ignore all this at your discretion.

Also last night I started a new account and new Arisen >.> But you won't see him or his pawn for awhile, so no worries I'll give the gamertag once they're at a decent level. I realized I didn't have an archer pawn (Arya=warrior, Kelly=fighter, Seel=sorcerer) and I kind of want to create an elfin archer type /looks at Chase --okay perhaps not EXACTLY like that; don't want to be a copy-cat
