I am so confused right now. Earlier I had five chicks with maximum affinity: Aelinore, Madeleine, Quina, Selene and some other chick (No, I don't know who.). But I'm attempting to romance Barnaby here (He's at maximum affinity! <3) and chucked Quina off a cliff so she wouldn't like me anymore.

I check my stats and...

Females with maximum affinity for you: 6

I hope that's a glitch. :pinched:

You're romancing Barnaby, nice to know I'm not the only one with Barnaby love :) Right now, I'm trying to romance Julien, cause I'm a sucker for blondes

I think Barnaby's lovely. Haha. I can't even figure out how you'd go about romancing Julien. Never seen him anywhere but in cutscenes.

So Reynard went missing pretty much after I posted that. Had my hammer all ready, too. He'd been puttering around Gran Soren for the longest time, but I guess he moved on.

Today I found him again. Sadly, I was unable to equip a massive hammer as I'd changed to a mystic knight. But I still gave him a few good whacks.

Lol at Adaro just standing there. He's on his way to the shadow fort, and just barely survived a battle with many, many saurians and a chimera. They seemed to go after him first.

I wanted to pick him up and throw him around, but you can't actually grab him, he just stumbles back when you try.

Okay, there are three golems near Selene's house, but none of them move. I was jumping on one's back, yelling "WAKE UP, MR. GOLEM, SIR" and nothing happened. All my pawns comment, saying "Tis a curious rock", but they never come to life. One's blocking a doorway that I never noticed before, and it looks like I can levitate over the golem, but invisible walls block me.

The one blocking the doorway you'll have to deal with during the 'Witch Hunt' quest.

Never figured out a way to wake up the garden ones. And I tried everything I could think of.

Breaking the discussion for bit, but has anyone ever noticed any pawns named after Bioware characters?

So far, I've found a Thane, Anders, Fenris, and a Garrus. I think I'm keeping the Garrus pawn for a while, and with the Chuck Norris pawn my team will be unstoppable. B)

I  see Lelianas and Morrigans constantly. I saw one Isabella but not convinced she was actually doing a Bioware reference since thats a real world name. (And she looked nothing like her)

My regular team features a mage named Chakwas and a fighter named Tali. Had a warrior named Kai, but I didn't like his attitude so I booted him. I honestly wish you could search by pawn name instead of just gamertag, because then I'd have the entire Mass Effect squad in my favorites.

I've also seen a few Morrigans, a few Duncans, and quite possibly that same Isabella, she had long red hair. There's an actual "Ser Alastair", possibly spelled differently, either at Windbluff Tower or the Encampment.

@Cutlass Jack: oh, so I'll actually have to advance the story to finish the golem hunt? It's just that the game sorta hits you over the head to FINISH THINGS NOW before you get the audience with the duke, I wish they hadn't made it sound so 'final'. I'll do my remaining escort quests and then finally progress with the story. It's been a while. :)

Yeah Max makes it seem like you need to clear your whole freaking journal before you talk to the Duke. What he's really trying to say is you need to finish all the 'Wyrm Hunt' quests before taking that final one to see the Duke.

Only the Wym Hunt quests stop being available at that point. After the Duke meeting you'll get a new questgiver, and eventually Maximillian will have some other quests too.

I haven't done any of the Wyrm Hunt quests yet, but finally started escort missions. Wow, those are kinda not fun. So far I've done three, but every time I go to a job board, there are more. Do they ever end?

The last one I did was Barnaby's, escorting him to the coast. I finally got my Magick Archer skills maxed out, so I was able to get him there without much trouble. He didn't put up as much fuss when I tossed him over my back like a sack of potatoes, like Mercedes did. Sassy, that one is. Image IPB

Escort missions aren't too bad compared to other games. Especially since your Pawns care about the person's survival and heal them. And the escort typically isn't entirely stupid and attempts to keep out of combat.

A few are quirky though, like Madeline, who stops to rumage through loot more than a pawn with the Acquisition inclination. I do like her though.

The only major problem with Escort missions is not knowing how to get where you're taking them. I suspect that's the real point of those missions. To expand your map and show you important spots. However on a few I got lucky and my clever pawn had already done them and showed me the route.

She's so handy. Shame she's not romancable.^_^

That's true. I was escorting the tribe leader in one of them, and his health was down to just a sliver, and one of my two mages healed him, just in time. Barnaby seemed pretty intelligent, and even helped fight (unexpected), but that other guy just shadowed me, which meant he took a bit of a beating, if someone flanked my character. I eventually figured out to just use my trusty magic bow, and snipe from a distance, to keep the person safe. Much less stressful that way.

I cleared my entire map (at least, the areas I could get into), but you're right; it's nice when your pawn already knows what's up. That's come in handy several times already. I'm a little sad that more people don't hire him. What's not to like about Iorveth, and his messed-up eye? He's actually quite good now, even for level 34.

Yeah, I kinda wish my main pawn was romanceable. I'm quite fond of his voice, and if I should happen to die, he does this lovely "noooooo!" It's like he really cares. Aww.

Strangely, I still haven't hired a warrior class pawn yet. I haven't needed to. Basically, I roll with two archers (one is a magick archer), a healer mage, and a sorcerer.

That is pretty funny. I just got my copy today--took forever Image IPB. Anyways, my main pawn will probably be named after a character from Planescape.

One more thing, the images you guys have been posting look really good. I don't know why everyone has been complaining about the graphics. When I see people posting about the graphics, first line is always "I'm not a graphics ****." If you think those graphics are crappy, than you pretty much are!

I had Adaro die twice on me. The third time, I just picked him up an ran. I'd had enough.

The whole "terrorist" thing might make people think twice before hiring him. Not me, though. I saw a Roche walking on the road once... and just like in TW2, I left him behind. I'm a horrible person.

I'm out of my comfort zone if I stop playing as a mage/sorceror, and I feel better knowing that there are huge tanks in front of me, so I always have two. I'd really like to get the Bastion augment for my Arisen, but playing as a warrior is just not my thing. "Elf Mage or you're doing it wrong" has always been my mindset.

I loaded up DD this morning to find 2 Ambrosial meat in my storage. As my internet is sketchy, I constantly get "the dragon's dogma service is unavailable at this time, try again later" instead of the list of who hired my pawn, but I know who you are. Many thanks. A kept Golden Egg is on its way.

^ Adaro, that's right. I couldn't remember his name, and I was too lazy to look it up.

You know, I don't even worry about names, or what pawns look like, or what they're wearing. The only thing I look at are which skills they have, and what level those skills are. Oh, and if they know something about quests or animals that I don't. Basically, I just choose the class I want to hire, and if I like their name, I summon them to the rift. Although... I did toss one pawn back, because I didn't like his voice. At least I gave him a decent parting gift, contrary to some of the ones I've received (I'm looking at you, Rock).

You left Roche behind? Hehehe. I still haven't gone back to play his path in TW2. I kinda had a fangirl crush on Iorveth for a while there. But then, I do have a thing for characters with messed-up faces and sultry voices (Zaeed, Eola). Yeah.

Hmm. I really should try out a warrior or two, but I'm finding that my preferred play style is to kill enemies before we're even close to them. I think warriors would get bored after a while, with nothing to do but loot.

I'm level 34, and I still haven't seen a griffon. Waa. Image IPB

Funny but I almost always choose pawns by their name or what they look like. I always love pawns with distinctive looks/voices/personalites and look as little as me or my pawn as possible.  The more it looks like they're doing a rp concept that fits in with the gameworld, the more interested I am.

If I have to spend hours with these pawns, I have to be able to deal with looking at them. That said, I also don't take ones that dress like strippers, are lollis or heaven forbid Lolli-strippers.

As for the guy who gifted you a rock, regift him a forged rock.

I admit, I do discriminate somewhat on stature. It seems like the really short or really tall mages I hire seem to be slower than my character and main pawn. For instance, there was one mage that was super short, and the poor thing was always waaay behind us, until the game forced her to be near us. For that reason, I tend to choose pawns similar in size to mine, so that we run approximately the same speed, if similarly encumbered.

Yeah, my husband's "Lady Deja" is wearing a thong under her sorceress cape. *sigh* I keep hiring her, because it's my wifely duty and all that, but geesh. I made the mistake of hiring her and another female mage at the same time, with the same voice, so I never know who's speaking.

I guess a rock is better than nothing. I've gotten that before, too. Dang, if you don't like my pawn, tell me why, so I can fix it!

Oh goodness.  Those kinds of pawns REALLY creep me out, I'll be honest.  I try not to judge other's creations but the Lolli-ones give me the willies.  I also wish there were more overweight female pawns.  It really says a lot about beauty standards and the lot.  In my next playthrough, I'm going to make a pawn something like that for sure.

Before this, I accidentally hit him in the face as I was spamming gifts. I hit attack instead of speak, thinking i was already in a conversation. Oops. He ran from the pawn guild, arms flailing. I got arrested.

The main reason I picked Iorveth was that he sounded kinda like Simon Templeman (Loghain) doing an impression of Michael Wincott. I could listen to him shout "SPAR'LE!" for hours.

+1. Except when I need a pawn with a certain skill, I'll go for the better name/appearance every time. My main pawn is a bit on the bland side, which is possibly the reason he's only been hired a handful of times.

Hey everyone. I just played the demo but am still unclear on some things. Bear with me, I'm sure I sound like a noob who didn't do his research... cause I am and haven't.

Is the game single-player with the option to upload pawns for the community to use? I was confused when I saw you had to make an ID on the demo. Could someone explain the singleplayer/multiplayer component to the game? Thanks.

It looks interesting, and after I get tired of D3, I plan on picking it up after a little more research

I hired a very matronly looking slightly pudgy mage the other day. Thought she was just wonderful. I also hired a Fighter who went with a dwarf look. Every group needs a dwarf! Those two made me happy.

Its technically a singler player game, but you can choose to connect online. Doing so lets your pawn be rented by other people, and you can rent other people's pawns to fill out the other two spots in your group. Its a very slick system and when you finish with a pawn you can rate them, send a nice message and even a gift back to its owner. Having your pawn rented earns you Rift Crystals that you can spend in various ways, including renting more powerful pawns.

But its not a true multiplayer game. You're never grouping with other players directly. Only their pawns.
