Well I'll probably be picking one up some time down the road. My 360 has seen better days. That and I'm itching to play Dark Dreams Don't Die.
I'm still playing The Witcher 3, and now I've got Elder Scrolls Online - which I didn't really want, but got anyway to play with my brother. Now our conflicting schedules are making it pretty much impossible to play together. I made an alt - a male breton archer with a maroon braid/ponytail. The first chest armor he picked up was pretty much just a sash. (And the name "Shinon" was already taken. I named him Shınon, with a dotless I. Because dammit.)
As for DD, all of my pawns are currently undead, some for spoilery reasons, some to just fit in with the crowd.
Chase makes a friend
And Shinon actually caught a fish.
Yeah. I really couldn't get into Bitter Black Isle
One particular boss (giant eye who keeps sending out tentacles) was taking way to long.
I was there for over an hour and only dealt 5% damage to only the first of several health bars.
I can't stand health sponges.
The main game is fine, but surely I can't be the only one who felt the DLC took it a bit too far.
Judging by how long it took to deal that tiny amount of damage.
60 minutes for every 5% or each health bar. There are 8 health bars. 9600.
160 hours. I'm not spending that long to kill a foe. ![]()
If your suggestion is "so grind some more", I'm out.

What class are you? If you're a ranger or strider, go to Gran Soren and pick up a few dozen blast arrows. If Fournival's available, pick up some conquerer's periapts too. You can stack up to four at a time, and you get a huge boost to attack if you do.
If you can aim the giant upward-thrusting tentacle at the gazer itself, you can knock it down and do a lot of damage. Once it summons the magick cannon, if you can do enough damage to the four tentacles around it to kill them, the fight is usually over quickly after.
It's weak to fire and holy, so if you have mages/sorcerers, make sure they've got appropriate spells. If you're the caster, holy-enchant your weapon and buy demon's periapts to augment your attack power.
If you're a dagger user, jump on its eye and go to town with 1000 kisses.

I'll be tossing in my lot of DD screencaps as well since it's been a while I've been messing around/experimenting with some of my character's looks and what not
@Shepenwepet - Soooooo...what IS the story behind the Walking Dead-Pawns? Don't get me wrong, find the look....intriguing.
Just getting my bases covered. My 360 has been acting up lately - it usually freezes if I try to look at my friends list. I'm getting alllllll the pictures I need for future use. And loads that I don't need. In order to cover these aforementioned bases, I'll be corruptifying everyone's pawns/arisens that I have the recipes for. Those that I don't I can make educated guesses at.
This right here has been one of my favorite "I don't need this but I definitely will use it now" photos...

Ah! What is that! What did she discover? It's been so long I can't even remember what that is... I miss our babies ![]()
Abraham, what level are you? DD:DA is really for higher level characters ^^ I got murdered pre-100.
Here is the page to search/suggest games for them to bring to Xbox One. I already voted for DD. Here's hoping!

It's a swirly pawn death cloud. Five seconds later, after she picked him up and put him back down:

I love this, it's a pity he's not himself, so I don't think I can use it

Edit because I'd rather not bump the thread for this, as it's technically ESO.
My sorcerer ran across a mostly-naked dark elf that looked a tad familiar.

Had I been playing as Alynna, there probably would have been some "accidental" stumbles into him. "Ooh, frightfully sorry, ser, pardon me. My, you're fit for an elf, aren't you? And your beard is glorious. ...May I touch it? It's not going to shock me or set me aflame, is it? Why are you backing away from me?"

Can I dream they they add features such as transferable save, or the ability to have more then one save game ![]()
Not taking anything away from the fact this is awesome news! ![]()

Ooh! Ooh! I can help!
Literally the only Boss Video I ever made for Dragon's Dogma. I hope it helps.
As for your post in general, yes, I think the DLC did take the "bullet sponge boss" too far. There are times when you are presented with the equivalent of 15-20 boss battles in a row, each with massive health bars that take a long time to eat through. There are a few shortcuts, but those involve picking specific classes and using specific powers, which is always a sign that a boss battle is badly designed (you should never have to use a particular class/power to defeat all bosses.)

Ugh I hate that 1-eyed freak! So many times he has petrified my guys and been a general pain in the ass to kill

I remember when I first fought the imprisoned gorecyclops in Midnight Helix. It. Took. Forever. I forget what level I was, but it was under 100. And of course, one hit and I was dead and had to do it all over again.
I also enjoyed the grind like Coldi. Then again, I still enjoy games like the original Dragon Warrior, where the story took a backseat to the endless XP grinding.
Also, Gwaelin is Aelinore. Gwaelinore.

I have officially surpassed the gamefile that died with my hard drive last year. And, with a few exceptions that I think I can live without, I finally finished everything in BBI (I wasn't a fan of it, so I'm happy to be able to leave it behind.)
Now to see if I can hit a goal that I've tried a few times, but failed, which is to finish a speedrun in under an hour. My best time is 1:27:39, so I'd have to cut almost 50% off of my time.
It will involve a lot of pausing and thinking about where to run next. ![]()
Twenty-six minute mark on the clock (not counting about 30 minutes spent in menus moving items around, fixing skills, changing vocations etc.)
I read about how cancelling a dash attack can significantly shorten speed runs. I decide to try it. In Gran Soren. And proceed to accidentally slice the $*#& out of 2 townspeople because I don't cancel the attack properly. Then I proceed to get arrested. Then I get thrown in jail. Only I don't have a skeleton key. Or any materials to mix one. And I can't reload a save because you can't save during speedruns.
Well, so much for that attempt. ![]()
I confess I like the grind, too. I'm not really used to playing games like Dragon's Dogma, maybe... or somehow it's just so thrilling and I get an immense sense of accomplishment when I down a condemned gorecyclops at level 80 on normal (played easy my last playthrough). The game never annoys me, unlike Mass Effect, which lately has me cursing profusely at the screen because the controllers are just utter crap and I'm playing on hardcore for the first time ![]()
How is it even possible to finish the game that fast? I don't even know how it would be done! Crazy talk!
Good luck though, Jeremiah!

If you think that's scary, the record is about 17 minutes.
Yeah, that messes with my head, too! ![]()
It sounds like there are a few key things that can knock huge amounts of time off the speedrun:
- Strategically placed portcrystals (I have most of these covered, but I really need one at the Watergod's Altar to save myself about 10 minutes.)
- Saved/forged mission items in storage (having the 5 slabs from the Watergod's Altar, for example, can knock 10-20 minutes off of a run.)
- The difficulty defaults to "normal," which make a huge difference. When on a speedrun, enemies easily die to OSK abilities, which saves time in every encounter (unfortunately, it also defaults the existing save game to "normal," which means that I have to switch it back to hard by starting a new game, and can be inconvenient.)
I decided not to bother trying again, for now, but will when I finish my current playthrough. With what I read before the previous attempt, I probably can get the time down under an hour, but the effort required to put in a competitive time (I'm thinking 30 minutes or less) is more than I'm interested in. ![]()
Honestly, speedrunning took most of the fun out of the game for me. Gransys is so stereotypical European fantasy, but I still like traveling and getting to see it. 30 minutes is just so far beyond me.
@Jeremiah &Br3ad: You two are silly for even attempting it! I would never because I like being slow. But now my curiosity is peaked. If both/either of you try again, keep us updated. I kinda wanna hear the adventure of it!
I'm STILL working on my NG+ pt and I think my character is STILL in the level 70's? Some day I'll get back to it (or so I keep telling myself)!
