I'm on the PSN. Yeah, I feel the same way about the gift thing, but mine is based on how long I've kept them. If I just hire them out for a few seconds, I usually share with them at least a healing item in good faith. What is funny is that I just used that skull to try and kill a seagull--got really close too.

I always WANT to give good Parting gifts to pawns, but often I head to the pawn guild after I've returned from an adventure and have already sold the loot I didn't need and stored what I did at the inn..by the time I head into the rift, all I have are healing items..woops. Bad etiquette.

Btw, does anybody have any recommendations as to what level one should be at before clearing the quarry? I was at level 17 and the bandits OWNED me.

I think it depends on your class and your party combination - after the bandits it gets even harder (won't spoil the surprise) and a fully physical/melee party is going to struggle. If you have a few mages on your team (ideally with comestion) and healing spells it'll make it a lot eaiser - I think I managed to clear it at ~18-20 on my most recent playthrough where I distracted enemies with my fighter while my mages burned them to death.

Clearing it early is pretty useful though since it is one of the best shortcuts to get from one side of the map to the other and makes a whole heap of escort quests a lot easier.

That's pretty much been my party combination from the beginning - my main pawn, a healing mage (who does have comestion), an offensive mage (who has comestion as well), a warrior, and myself, a strider. I'm at level 19 now, maybe I'll go try it again once I'm at level 22 or so. One of the pawns I hired mentioned there were ogres in there..is that the surprise you were referring to? So I think I'll level grind a bit more! Thanks for the advice.

At first, I didn't get it either, but then one of my pawns suggested it and I was like "Ah-ha!!" :D

Yeah, level 22 seems like a good one to go with. I'll just keep questing and wandering to gain a few more levels, plus the gold to buy a million healing herbs so I can go well prepared.

OMG, I am so addicted to this game! Please forgive me for my rambling; I just can't help myself!

I got the quarry cleared out around level 25, I think, but left the ogres until later. The first time I tried one, I brain-farted, and forgot to climb up on the sucker, and my pawns kept getting squashed. One even got sent back to the rift, which is how I figured out that if you don't revive them soon enough, that's what happens. Doh!

Long story short, I went back eventually, killed them all, and was happy to see that last night, when I went into the quarry, there were no baddies at all. There were workers, and even a merchant, selling the full white hawk armor set. My character is a magick archer, and my main pawn is a ranger, so...didn't buy it.

So anyway, I finally saw a griffin, and was able to fight it (the first time, it flew away). Almost beat it, too. We had it down to half of the last health bar, and my only mage at the time (I normally travel with two, but swapped one out for a friend's warrior) went down, and I ran over to revive her. In that small amount of time, the griffin got up and flew away.

Then later, I got up the courage to go back to the dragon near the shadow fort. And killed it. Posted Image

Holy crap, I just started seeing skeleton lords. I was fighting a chimera and some lady bandits, and these freaking Overlord-looking things come out of nowhere and started attacking us. Anyone know the best way to kill them?

Enlist a mage/sorceror with the holy enchant because holy magic tears through the undead like toilet paper.

It's shameful but does anyone have sinistone they are willing to donate. My psn is HeavyasHeaven, my pawn's name is Eileen Chase, lvl 50 & her vocation is ranger.

^ I'm not exactly sure on their name, but I will give that a try. They kinda reminded me of DA Revenants. I was surprised when we killed the first one to find a pile of bones. How on earth can a skeleton be that powerful? Boggles the mind.

If I had my regular squad (1 healing mage, 1 sorcerer, 1 ranger + my pc, who is a magick archer), I think we would have fared better than we did. I spent most of my time aiding the warrior who had fallen.

My bad for the double post, but that's a good team loadout to deal with him. Don't forget to save before you fight him because he drops lordly emblems which are rare.

I'm about level 50, and this is also true for me. Never saw one until recently. I was also fighting some lady bandits, my warrior and fighter were in the thick of the fight, with me on the outside sniping with spells as always. I don't know where my other mage was, it was pretty dark. Anyway, suddenly my screen went red, half my health was gone, and a pawn shouted "SKELETON LORD!"

A second later I was dead. Two freaking hits. It came up behind me, I didn't even see it. We mages are so fragile.

I find repeated stabbing solves most of my problems. Posted Image

You think they're fun, wait until they get joined by a named group of 'Nameless' assassins all out to kill you. Had them both pop at the same spot once.

I'm still looking for these guys, only had two groups show up, one named after birds, the other group's names were all french words for different colors. I was attacked by a rogue named Rouge. Awesome.

I'm hooked on my magick bow, tbh. There are a couple of really lame skills out there, but for the most part, the hunter ones are pretty dang good. If I can't kill someone with holy magick, I switch to fire. If that doesn't work, electricity. All without actually having to be a mage. Woot!

I was wondering why there were miscellaneous groups of named bandits attacking us. Mostly it's been sorcerers for me. I'm not sure why.

I wish I could loot their pretty dresses. Posted Image

Dragon Dogma is alot of fun. I'm really enjoying it and during the fights I actually fell like me and the Pawns are a real team taking these things down.

I only wish the conversations in game were more indepth...but what can I say? I've been spoiled by certain games over the years.

I'm trying to clear the Quarry at level 15 as a Warrior. Coincidentally, this is the same quest you need to complete in order to buy the armor from the Berserk anime. I've seen pictures on females and they look pretty nice.

I named my pawn Jyn and her moniker is Chun-Li. I made her average height and musculature, I think she looks great and people actually use her. I started her as a mage and now switcher her to Ranger to see how she performs and I like the look of the class' armor I have her with.

My main character I went all out to get her in the heaviest weight category. Max musculature, tallest height.. Took me three tries to get her just right. I now have some armor from Gran Soren that shows off her arms and abs. I love it.

I just finished the game last night and I loved the ending....unlike some other game....

But I was so glad to have Julien as my romance throughout the game without worrying about having some other character pop out as my LI instead of him. Since many people have been having the wrong LI show up for them at the end I decided to only have Julien have max affinity for me and no one else. That solved that problem. The only thing was that I didn't give him the Arisen's bond ring since I didn't get the material from Aelinore to make it because I didn't do her rescuing quest. I didn't want to cheat on Julien

I really love this game and will play it again once some new DLC comes out besides the weekly one that's already out there.

The only thing I didn't like about this game was that there weren't more port crystals to fast travel. I know the game is about traveling and exploring but sometimes it got a little bit tedious since I couldn't run the whole way since stamina keeps depleting. I also didn't like the board quest where you have to kill bunnies. I felt sad killing them especially when they made that sad cute dying sound :P

? ...Not sure if I follow here. I found a tablet in the witchwood at Guardian's Grave and brought it to the Dragonforged, he told me it was the arisen's bond, and it changed into a ring. Are there more than one Arisen's Bonds?

Also, I've got 5 people with max affinity, and I can't change it. Two have left the game completely, (won't say who due to spoilers) and I tried attacking another one but she just plain doesn't care. Well, she screams and runs about three feet, then it's back to pink clouds of lurrrrve.

I screwed up in my game and didn't do any of the witchwood quests so I never got an Arisen's bond from the tablet. Aelinore gives you a love-in-the-rough material after rescuing her that you can combine with a flower to make an Arisen's bond. So since I never did any of those things, I never got one and wasn't able to give it to Julien :( I don't know if there's more than those 2 bonds you can get in the game.

But that's ok, he still loved me and was there at the end.

I really missed so many quests. I never saw Valmiro, I never did any Quina or Selene quests. My next playthrough I'll follow a quest list so I won't miss anything.

If he takes off before you kill him, the griffon goes to the Bluemoon Tower where you will be able to conitnue to fight him. But that tower sure is far... I hated walking all the way over there.
