I seem to remember someone wanted sinistone, I have some, but I'm on xbox, think this one was on psn. any xboxers need some rare materials? If it's something I don't need, I'd be happy to gift stuff. Of course, the weapon I'm using right now says I need "???" and "??? x5" to upgrade it, so.. poo.

And I just found a second snakeskin purse in the blighted manse, just inside the rear entrance, in a chest. Not sure if it's the standard 1/3 chance or whatever it is for chests, but it was there.

Yeah I just had that happen to me - even after I gave mercedes the arisen bond and probably close to 100 cloudwines I got madeleine instead (who I didn't give anything and just completed all her quests). Ah well, next time maybe I'll get it right.

I'm pretty sure your LI is based off who you max out first, so long as that person stays maxed out.

I don't know - I started giving cloudwines to mercedes from the very start (and got that weird chime music/aura) from the start of the trek to the capital. I don't think I would have maxed madeleine from that one escort quest and giving her the money. But as far as I understand, the whole affinity/romance thing is somewhat iffy and I'm just glad I didn't end up with some random shopkeeper or the innkeeper. I had quite a few people with maxed affinity by the end (just from quests), so maybe I'll just have to either skip their escort quests or bump into them/pick them up a whole load of times next time since 'amount of affinity' doesn't seem to be the deciding factor.

It's the blacksmith building with the furnace etc. It doesn't have a door so unless it's bugged, if you just wander around the pawn guild you should see it.

I'm not doing escort quests to avoid this problem...So far I've only done the escort quest for mercedes....

also is the witch selene (I think thats how you spell her name) invloced in the main quest line at all? or is she just in side quests?

This could in fact be accurate, I got the chime/blushing from a bunch of characters, but Barnaby was the first one with the aura. Later on when I had both Valmiro and Reynard maxed, I still did quests with them, which would have theoretically boosted their affinity even higher.

Giving Aelinore a party hat = "come visit me in my bedchambers!"<_<

Following Selene to Guardian's Grave = "I want to live with you!"

I did Madeleine's quests pretty early, but she never maxed, (i don't even think she chimed) maybe because I never shopped at her store.

About escort quests, later in the game I found a soldier named Ser Abell, and, after hearing his voice, decided to give him every gift I had in my inventory. I port back to Gran Soren to then find an escort request from Ser Abell. Was this just a huge coincidence? Can you "create" escort quests by giving people gifts? It happened twice - with Ser Abell, and once I unloaded all my quills on Maximillian, there was an escort quest for him on a previously empty notice board.

^ You can have Barnaby as an LI? What gifts does he prefer?

I really need to start the Duke quests. Some of these people I've seen mentioned here, I haven't met yet. Posted Image

Barnaby falls under "men of Gran Soren", which would mean large fish are the gifts you want. I think Capcom sorta forgot that Barnaby is a pawn, and he should have been "off-limits", as he's supposedly devoid of emotions/desires.

One cutscene with implied sexytimes later...

Yeah, they forgot.

I stopped giving anyone gifts. I assumed Barnaby wasn't part of the equation...but I thought I'd better leave it open.

Do you know if going to the bedchambers screws up the LI part. I gave Mercedes enough cloudwine to make her go blind.

@ShepnTali: considering the two conflicting statements on this page, I can't really say. the affinity system seems to be rather flawed, but, in my case, I had Barnaby maxed before the Aelinore event happened, and afterward I whacked her with a staff just to be safe. She still registered as maxed, but I think Barnaby was already locked in.

Mercedes seems to be a problem LI. has anyone actually got her in an ending cutscene?

Yeah, I've read into it a bit and I think I've figured out where I messed up.
And yes, other people have confirmed that her romance works.

Hopefully not spoiling anything but I think interfering in her duel messes her romance up. If you let her finish and get her affinity high enough (and perhaps early enough) it'll probably work fine. I suppose it serves me right for been so ungallant and one-shotting her opponent in the back haha. Ah well, there's always new game+ - it just makes all that time spent feeding her cloudwines feel like such a waste. :/

Also, the consensus on the random threads I've been coming across is that it's to do with the highest affinity, so gift spamming and the arisen bond will probably do the trick as long as you don't mess around with some duel-outcome meta-gaming (i.e. killing then resurrecting her opponent with a wakestone lol).

The main questline doesn't really involve too much, so to get the most of the game you probably should do some side-quests for people. You probably don't need to concern yourself too much with the escort/find-this-and-that/extermination side-quests, but some of the story-arcs for the named characters add quite a bit to the game, even if they are only involved in one or two more major quests. So while selene isn't really directly involved in the main questline (you probably don't even need to go into witchwood if you don't want to), she has a side-quest or two related to her which are somewhat interesting.

Haha yeah, Aelinore's rendezvous was somewhat.. unexpected. The end-result was rather annoying but I managed to satisfy my urge for revenge after I learnt you can kill npcs if you just deal enough damage fast enough (so sucks to be that dungeon guard). It's slightly odd about the lack of repercussions that crimes/breaking out of dungeons have in the game.

I didn't mind selene as much; I figured that I wasn't really using that house anyway, and it would be somewhat lonely/boring stuck in the middle of those woods.

I think you may be right about the escort quests since I got escort quests for npcs immediately after doing a quest involving them (presumably after picking up some quest-related affinity). I'm not sure how it's possible to not max affinity for npcs if you just do their side-quests and maybe shop a bit from them; Maybe I should start swinging my weapons more often and picking them up and throwing them around, since that seems to lower affinity pretty fast haha.

I think I may have messed up..I missed the Lost and found quest...and I did witchs brew but i havent gotten any other quests involing her..I think I screwed up the quest line. Oh well.

On another note...some one mention the berserk armor...I have to ask, is this berserk armor....Guts armor from Berserk? I found griffons white hawk armor and Guts sword and his old outfit...I kinda jumped up and down with joy....

I honestly stood and watched for a few minutes, not sure if I should step in. I mean, she was clearly losing. Finally, I decided to step forward, hit her opponent with a little "pff" light magic attack... and he turned on me, and charged. Before he got a chance to butcher me, the cutscene started. Saved by the bell, I guess.

I killed Selene once. I reloaded because I felt terrible. I didn't think she'd die, but she did. Lesson learned. And about the lack of repercussions, there's an event post-dragon at Gran Soren that boggled my mind. I left town, came back and the guards conveniently forgot about it.

This is another thing that bothered me about the game. You play as a resident of Cassardis. You have a house that is right around the corner from the inn. So why is it that we have to rent a room for 50 bucks when we have our own bed about two feet away? Madness, I tells ya.

Yes, it is inspired by Berserk :D I found it and instantly fell in love with the White Hawk armor, but sadly my current armor had better stats so no White Hawk armor for me :crying: On the plus side, I did get the White Hawk cape for my pawn ^_^

Selene can't catch worth turd. (She's actually making the 'what gives?' shrug, as I'd just thrown her across the room as well.) Barnaby cracked his head on the wall pretty hard, then got up and said "You have my deepest appreciation."

He may now have brain damage.

I FINALLY FOUND -another- GARRUS PAWN!!! :wizard:

Finally, after an hour or two of headaches in the rift someone else made one. Eventhough he's only at level 22, I'm never sending him away again.  He even has the face tatoos to match!

Oh yeah, I also found a Wrex...

Posted Image

...a Thane, a Solus, another Fenris, 12 more Anders, and a Grunt...

...I am now sick of the rift and rift stones.

I didn't buy the dlc, don't really plan on it. it's just a bunch of little fetch quests from what I hear. There are no "locked out sections" map-wise, as far as I know. Maybe that won't be true down the line, but so far, what's there is all of it.

The "in-game ads" only show up when you start the game, it has updates about what's available when it checks for downloadable content. There's a place that triggers the tutorial window to say "you can download extra quests from the marketplace" or whatever, (near the notice board for downloadable quests, which you'll rarely be around) but if you shut off the tutorial window, that stops. It's not a constant stream of "BUY MORE STUFF" like some people make it sound.

My husband bought the first DLC, and from the tiny little bit I witnessed, it looked like a bunch of miscellaneous fetching/looting. Meh. Personally, I'd rather fight a griffin or something instead.

Oh! He did buy the one DLC that had new weapons. He gave his main pawn a hideous eyeball staff, and is using dual Saurian blades himself. He was giddy about them.
