On my NG+, at the beginning I had six people maxed, Barnaby, Selene, Reynard, Quina, Valmiro and Ser Abell. (Go talk to him at the Shadow Fort. Yep. That's why.) Since it carries over affinity, I naturally assumed those would take priority over "new" maxed affinities and didn't give anyone gifts or anything. Well, Barnaby got a third(!) arisen's bond, but other than that, nothing.
Except that magical insta-love party hat, which was because I felt bad.
Grigori, you dingbat.

I used tons of liquid vim and spammed thousand kisses non-stop. Gotta love it when the health bar doesn't budge.
Can you not gift auspicious/vivifying incense? I borrowed Briana for a bit, she got eaten by Death in the Bloodless Stockade, so I headed into the rift to rehire/gift, and couldn't find any in the gift menu. I know I have some in storage.

At the sixteen hour mark of my battle, Shinon said, "Don't worry. We've only just begun!" Almost threw him into the ocean for that. I'd say more, but I think I'll just curl up in a corner and pass out instead.
If that's the kind of dedication online Ur requires, I'll be sticking with the offline one. Here I thought I was overdoing it with 30 minutes.
I peeked in this morning to see what my contribution netted me - a bunch of coin pouches and a Volant White, which I could have gotten offline anyway. It was still better than what I got for my "contribution" for gen 24 - a bunch of ambrosial meat and a wakestone. I wish I could get another crack at gen 24. I was still playing as a mage back then and I couldn't take a hit.
A few images I forgot to upload (click to enlarge):

Poor guy looks like he just woke up. He probably shouldn't have.

The only way this shot could be better is if my arisen was making bunny ears behind Shinon's head. I also hope someday to find a better (less ridiculous looking) cap or circlet for him. I stuck with a red leather cap for almost the entirety of the game until I got that mistletoe circlet.

The only way I can get my xbox online is to tether my phone to my laptop. My phone's battery died (thus disconnecting me) when the dragon had a slightly more than one health bar left. Recharged it to about ten percent and fought some more until the dragon had only half a bar left. Phone died again. When it had five percent battery life, I started fighting again. The dragon had a very small amount of hp left and only a few hearts. Three more attempts before finally killing it off. The last post I made here was shortly before my phone died again.
When I started fighting it at around 8am EST, I had 11 million gold. At 2am the next day, I had 650K gold. Mostly, my fortune was spent on periapts, mushrooms and Maker's Fingers. I missed with two of those. Started to think romancing Fournival would have been a good idea. It would have kept him in one place.
The modded pawn was named Sauron. It had several buffs none of the others had and took significantly longer to kill than other pawns. Gabrielle kept grabbing him while the rest of us filled him with arrows though, so he only cost me time and a few mushrooms.
In the end, I walked away with a Talarian White, Lambent Shield, (my eighth) Ascalon and (sixth) Volant White along with the Abysinal set and a Saint George Mask.

"Sauron 360H"? I ran into him once, expecting him to fall in one hit like the others.
Ten freaking minutes. I was trying to edge him toward the end of the arena to see if he could fall off. Didn't seem to work.
Nice of the Ur-Dragon to wait until I'd finished him off, though.

The very same. The toughest normal pawn I ran into could take four hits from my bow. I emptied my stamina twice using fivefold flurry on Sauron 360H. Tried the knocking him out of the arena tactic too, but I don't think it's possible in the Chamber of Lament.Shepenwepet wrote...

I have to stop being so generous with gifts. My pawn has been hired by four people today, and he's gotten nothing but empty flasks and pine branches. I always send back something useful, even if it's a harspud sauce which I'm sure everyone has tons of.
Here's a question, when pawns die (as in when they get "accidentally" tossed off a cliff) do their "masters" get blank reviews/no gifts? Do they get anything? I'm gonna look that up.
edit: yep, they get blank three star reviews.

Also, his chest looks like the face of a crabby old man.

I actually had more trouble with the fire drake that spawned in the Sparyard of Scant Mercy.

My healer died every three seconds. She thought it was a good idea to start up high anodyne while standing directly in front of the dragon's mouth. And she never learned her lesson.
I'm aware Mr. Daimon has a different form the second time you fight him, which I'll see sometime later. Perhaps tonight, not sure. But I did love all of Bitterblack Isle, except for that pitch black sewer that Death seems to consistently spawn in. There's no way I'm fighting him there.

And holy crap, I'm still lousy against Cursed Dragons. And possessed pawns named Briana (the one in the middle).
Makes me wax nostalgic for these guys:

I had gotten cocky, and should have went back to camp to regroup before attempting the bishop and cursed dragon duo. We were completely unprepared for that part of the dungeon. Not an hour before that, Death showed up and killed all of my pawns. I shouldn't have been surprised. Hehe.

BTW, I recommended Dark Arisen to a friend of mine at work who'd never played Dragon's Dogma. After briefly telling him about it, he bought it Thursday night, spent the entire weekend playing it, and is now up to level 43. He actually ran to my desk this morning with a huge dopey grin on his face, to tell me how much he loves it, and that he's addicted to it.
Sadly, he's on PS3, and I'm on XBox, so we can't trade pawns, but it sounds like he's doing just fine without my help.
And now I'm caught up on good deeds for the month.

So post-daimon BBI is pretty much all new again in terms of monster spawns. I like that. Garm trios in the Garden of Ignominy, Thunderwyverns in Duskmoon Tower... elder ogres that butt-bomb themselves into corners and get stuck...

He just stood there for a while. He eventually did turn around, so he wasn't really stuck, I guess.

I wish it was that easy to convince my friends to try the game. The one I gave my original copy to wasn't interested until I showed him he could pick people up and throw them around. It's grown on him since then.
@Shepnwepet: Just wait until you get to the city before Daimon again.

I honestly don't get the point of the arisen's bond, myself. By the time you get it, chances are you're already maxed with someone even if you don't try to be. *cough*Aelinore*cough*. You have to actively INJURE people for them to back off. Well, apparently you can keep readying your weapon in front of them, but that takes too long.
On my NG+, at the beginning I had six people maxed, Barnaby, Selene, Reynard, Quina, Valmiro and Ser Abell. (Go talk to him at the Shadow Fort. Yep. That's why.) The onlyu thing that the Arisen's Bond does is lock the affinity you have towards an NPC so it couldn't go up or down and locks it where it's kidnapped by the dragon and for the final scene after you use the godsbane, although it doesn't always work because there has been cases that another NPC shows up at that scene.
