The trailer looked good. I had a feeling it was going to be delayed, but I was expecting it to be a much longer one. Now it releases a few days after my birthday, so I'm totally fine with that! Still undecided if I'll preorder or not. Meh, may as well. I'll be getting it regardless one way or another.

If you pre-order from Gamestop you get a bonus.

Apparently you have to pay some sort of currency called Rift Crystals to recruit pawns. The pre-order bonus gives you an extra 2000 and it says unlocks items in a specific shop.

I really hope the dragon in Dogma serves a greater purpose other than being the "one true evil that has to be destroyed no matter what".

And from the looks I've gotten from the game, it certainly shows great potential in terms of combat, tand hopefully the plot can do the same.

What's can be cooler than chasing the dragon that ripped your heart out? The dragon is definitely voiced by David Lodge. Now that we got to hear him speak longer, I'm 99% sure about it. The 1% is margin of error in case it turns out it's not an american voice actor that voices the dragon.

I wanted to share what I came up with in the Pawn Revolution app:

I'm not particularly concerned about plot. I'll be too busy trying to chain combos together, killing, and looting.

@Chewin3

There seems to be stuff about the king. The hero walks in on him trying to rape his wife who is actually a very young woman who was forced to marry him. The king is actually an arisen himself but he's 70 years old. In the story trailer, we see the king send soldiers after the hero but the hero escapes. So I'll imagine there's going to be some stuff about the king.

There's also a cult that believes that humanity must die and that the dragon is actually salvation.

The dragon itself actually speaks and seems to have a motive. So who is to say that the game story is truly a "go here and kill the ancient evil" type of game story? From what the official site is saying about the characters, it sounds like there's a few twists.

Yeah, definitely. I didn't read about the king, but that is interesting.

I read about the cult though and I'm not really surprised. I've noticed some parallels between the story and The Last Remnant. Maybe it's just me.

Some hope for PC fans maybe?

http://www.strategyi...a/previews.html

"Despite only being announced for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 the title was running in a development environment on the PC with an Xbox 360 controller equipped – though all the in-game menus referred to the PS3."

The game can obviously run on the PC...so perhaps in the future, Capcom may release the game for PC...

Interesting article. I like how there's over 40 different hairstyles just for a female character. Hopefully, though, they range anywhere from the short hairstyles we're used to seeing to hair that goes as long as down to the bottom of the shoulder blades.

It's also cool how you can choose shape of things like the eyes and nose as well as use sliders to change them even further.

Looks very interesting, still not sure if i will get the game for PS3 but it's in the running along with ME3 and a few others.

Breaking News!

The website was updated, today I think, and they added Mage and Ranger.

Turns out, Ranger, Warrior and Sorceror are all Starting classes. So there's six classes to choose from at character creation and not the three that was originally reported.

Also, it appears that all those screens videos where a character is wielding a massive bow isn't the Strider class, but rather the Ranger class.

That's awesome, now I know I will have my greatsword from the get go and not have to wait. And if I choose something beside warrior, it's Ranger I'd want and not Strider because I prefer the Ranger's Longbows.

Damn, I getting more excited with every new bit we find out.

What three other classes could you add to that? I thought those three were all you could really do in this type of game.

I believe the MT framework was developed as a pc engine so it could be easily adapted to the other two platforms. The game might rival TW2 visuals on PC.

I don't know how true that is, MT framework was used to make Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2.

The names of the first three that were brought to our attention as being starting classes were Fighter, Strider, and Mage.

The Japanese site has had 9 classes up.  Two each of melee, ranged, and magic.  Along with 3 classes that were a combination between the three types.

Without any info, I just assumed Warrior, Ranger, and Sorcerer were advanced classes and unlocked somehow.  Well, according to the site thast is now in english, you get to choose between all 6 and not just the initial three we were told about..

Magic Archer, Assassin and Mystic Knight are the advanced classes and I think these classes are created just be combining the others. For example:

Sorcerer/mage + ranger/strider = Magic Archer
Ranger + strider = Assassin.
Sorcerer/mage + fighter = Mystic Knight.

There's going to be a two-hour live stream of Dragon's Dogma this Sunday, February 12th starting at 11AM Pacific time.

www.capcom-unity.com/gregaman/blog/2012/02/06/watch_two_hours_of__dragons_dogma_next_sunday

Hopefully they'll show off more than just combat.  They say they're going to reveal a new feature.  I won't be able to watch it live, but I'm sure they'll have posted to their youtube account at some point.

Yeah, you're probably right. On the Japanese site the flags for the starting six are red, blue, and yellow.  Then the Magic Archer, Assassin, and Mystic Knight flags are yellow/blue, red/yellow, and red/blue respectively.

Cheers for updating us on that. Two hours of nothing but gameplay? This should be good and hopefully this new feature revealed is an RPG feature and not just some combat feature because we know a lot about combat now. Hopefully the two hours of gameplay isn't simply just senseless exploring and fighting, I hope we see some story or quests being completed.

Oh and Itsuno-San himself will be playing the game? So we will see no more goblins ass whooping the PC!

New info!  Capcom is doing a few Q&As which will continue through Saturday, so more info to come!

1) Can we customize our armor or weapons?
Yes, Dragon’s Dogma offers an extensive amount of equipment to choose from and also allows players to upgrade their weapons and armor via a crafting system.

2) Can you free roam and how big is the open world?
Yes, Dragon’s Dogma does allow free roaming.  The world of Dragon’s Dogma isn’t as much about pure size as it is richness offering an incredible variety of environments and areas for players to explore.  There are also over 400 fully voiced NPC’s each with their own unique looks and personalities.

3) Will there be any means of transport?
Yes, players will be able to make use of “ferrystones,” which allows players to fast travel to a specific location.

4) Will there be a Demo?
We have not confirmed a demo as of yet.

5) Can you share Pawns across networks, consoles etc?
Players will be able to share their main pawns using Xbox LIVE! and PSN, though due to the closed nature of these platforms, players will not be able to share pawns between Xbox LIVE! and PSN.

 6) How long will the game take to finish?
As Dragon’s Dogma is an open world game the game ranges from 30 hours for the main quest line to hundreds of hours if a player wanted to see and do everything.

7) How does Pawn control work? Do gamers have any direct control over Pawns, or is it strictly an A.I. system in place?
Players create their main pawn and rent up to two additional pawns to support them in combat.  Commands can be given to these pawns utilizing the d-pad, however players will not have direct control over their actions.  Players do control their pawn’s disposition though, and can encourage and discourage certain behaviors, for instance healing other party members, or focusing on taking down larger enemies.  Pawns also gain knowledge and experience as they journey with players throughout the world, for example, pawns will retain knowledge of new areas they explore and where treasures can be found.  Pawns will also gain knowledge of enemies they fight, remembering enemy weaknesses and best strategies for taking them out.

8) Will the Arisen speak?
While the Arisen has a number of voice options which users pick during customization, he/she does not speak during the game’s cutscenes.

9) Will I be able to watch the LiveStream if I miss it on Sunday?
Yes.  The live stream will be posted on Capcom Unity for users to watch if they didn’t catch it on Sunday.

10) Is the Main Pawn a crucial part of the story line?
Yes, the Main Pawn travels with the Arisen throughout the entire game and their role in the story will unfold as you progress through the game.

Not really the answer I was looking for when it comes to the PC "speaking", though it still may be possible that we have a list of dialog to choose from like in Origins or Skyrim.  Here's hoping.  And crafting confirmed!

I was expecting a voice option which is found in RPG's such as Baldur's Gate, NWN and Dragon Age: Origins. I'm glad the character won't be voiceless while in combat. It's also good to know that we can upgrade our weapons and armor.

And what's this? It takes HUNDREDS of hours to do everything? Now that sounds good.

Hi, EJisD! Yes, hundreds is definitely good. Though I'm still curious if it will need to be on multiple disks for the 360. Hopefully that question gets answered before release. I was maybe going to get this game for the 360 to give my PS3 a break after Skyrim's been ravaging it, but that might change. Not sure.

Well, you also have to consider you'll need an Xbox Live subscription to loan your pawn out and use other people's pawns.  That's the reason I'm getting it for PS3.

I'm most interested in the fact that the main pawn is important to the story. And that I will be able to watch it later as I won't be able to sunday.

I wonder if the crafting will be like Monster Hunter. I love Monster Hunter's crafting system.

Pop music doesn't suit the game but they included it in the newest trailer anyway. The newest trailer doesn't reveal much new but it shows a few new gameplay scenes and cut scenes. B’z (whoever the Hell they are) performed the music for the trailer and apparently for the opening of DD.
