Cursed dragons are easy for my character. It's just that they have high resistance. I find myself simply hacking away at them like a chore. Most of their attacks miss me (I just go right under them where their magically animated heart is) too.

Elder Ogres are easy but become annoying when they rage. At this point they become dangerous. When you first encounter them though you can easily lure them to jump to their deaths but in the other areas they spawn, you're forced to fight them in tight quarters.

Garms are too easy. Just jump on the back and hack away. On the right spot, its shake off move won't even effect you so you can stay on for as long as your stamina and stamina restoration curatives last.

I'm past the lich and his dragon now and am at the point where you keep meeting death. Haven't saved past there so I'm going to return to Gran Soren, buy some monk preciepts and then return. He seems pretty easy to kill. So long as you avoid his strike and use the monk trinkets to be immune to sleep you can hack away at him till he dies. He uses the same moves over and over again too. Since it's the bottom sanctum I'm guessing Damian (or whatever his name is) isn't that far away now considering I've collected almost all of the recollections of the Arisens and those statues.

LV 120 now. Everything back in the main-land is easy to kill. I fear that after the expansion I'll just breeze through the main game. It was easy on NG+ as LV 70 and the difficulty of hard mode seems to have worn off now considering I can one hit kill everything and the great cannon spell (combined with magic enchantments such as ice or fire) can fell pretty much every boss you encounter in less than 30 seconds. The abysmal anguish skill allows me to slay drakes, wyrms and wyverns with ease and ice enchantment combined with abysmal anguish actually allows me to knock over Eliminators which is pretty funny.

The onlyu thing that the Arisen's Bond does is lock the affinity you have towards an NPC so it couldn't go up or down and locks it where it's kidnapped by the dragon and for the final scene after you use the godsbane, although it doesn't always work because there has been cases that another NPC shows up at that scene.

From what I've experienced, it does none of this. All it does is instantly max affinity with an NPC. If you already have someone maxed (which is easy to do with quests even if you're not trying), the arisen's bond is a meaningless piece of garbage, as the game defaults to the first person you maxed affinity with. Kinda misleading, considering the in-game description of the Bond:

"A ring that brims with a mystic light. When gifted to another, it seals his or her bond - and fate - to the Arisen"

"NOPE, YOU GAVE A LITTLE GIRL A PARTY HAT. YOU ARE CLEARLY INFATUATED WITH HER. " - Grigori

As a magick archer, as soon as one rises in the air, the fight's pretty much over. One shot to the heart and they plummet, and I hack away at the heart. I'm awful at climbing on things (that terrible camera can get quite disorienting when you're trying to get at a dragon's heart) so I just wait until they flop around on the ground.

Which is where ricochet hunter does all the work. I fire another before the first one's even finished, all the ogre can do is dance a little jig as he's being pelted. <3 Ricochet Hunter. Same deal with Garms.

He keeps disappearing on me before I do enough damage. Someday....

You have no idea how hard it is to get all your pawns close beside you and facing the same way. It just doesn't happen. I tried the "come" command, but they still shuffle around and do their own thing.

Posted Image
About ten minutes later, our team was splintered as Briana and Shinon decided to leap off this cliff to make SURE those skeleton brutes they knocked off the edge were in fact dead. That's commitment right there. Would have been nice to have their help distracting the cursed dragon that spawned seconds later in the next room, but we put it down, and dragonforged my sapfire daggers. Too bad Shinon skipped town or I would have put on all his gear too.

^ I hate it when that happens! Aww, are you using both Gabrielle and Briana? Posted Image (hooray!)

I just switched Gabs back to Fighter last night. She's not the best mage or sorcerer in the world. She was ok, but...her mp was pretty low compared to other mages at our level. She maxed out the vocation, so it was time to move on.

I was in BBI for a bit last night, and actually killed my first garm. (Normally, I just run away from them, but I just picked up a quest to kill 5 of them). It was easy. They kinda terrified me before, because of that one bite death business, but I did a little stealth play, by letting my pawns distract him, ran up behind him, climbed on, and started chipping away at his health. He was dead pretty quickly.

A little later on, I was on a bridge in/near the Fortess of Remembrance (banshees and giant undead), and of course, the screen went grey, and an elder ogre popped out.

We were about 30 seconds into the fight, and I was up above sniping. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the ogre charging. With my mage in his hand. Suddenly the "30,000 XP" message popped up. *sigh* The fool jumped off the bridge, taking my healer with him. I had to run back to a rift stone to reclaim her.

And I was so bummed that I wasn't able to snap a photo of it.

I just came from an ill-fated Team BSN attempt at killing "awakened" Daimon. For starters, we had no healer, so I couldn't be as reckless as I usually am. I was also a mystic knight. A terribly inexperienced mystic knight.

We were actually doing pretty well, until the big jerk opened a rift portal. Then it was down to me. I bravely reloaded.

Since I was too busy trying not to die, I didn't get that many shots from the Daimon fight, but I have this one of Team BSN completely entranced by a corpse nettle.
Posted Image
Then Shinon picked it up and everyone snapped out of it.

One more.

Hey I have some rotten eggs to give away. They're starting to stink and I can't hold them any longer. So gamertags please.

Edit:

happy_daiz, you have many rotten items coming your way. May they help you in the darkness.

Fun fact: spring water can rejuvenate rotten items. I was reorganizing my rotten food collection in my storage and realized you could combine them. My kept rotten pumpkin is now a kept pumpkin. In a flask.

My GT is Shepenwepet. Feel free to hire Shinon and return him in nothing but Evening Tights.

Shinon didn't notice the rest of us running and got
killed
nobly sacrificed himself to buy the rest of us time when Death
showed up in the Fortress of Remembrance. Gabrielle mysteriously disappeared
somewhere
was abducted by aliens in the Cathedral. If there is a way for
pawns to disappear, they will.

I'm also going for The Hero achievement. Two people have fallen in love with me during the coversations where they leave the game.<_<

Finally maxed sorcerer and got the 20% magic buff. Felt nice to be able to go back to magick archer. But I know there's another 10% buff for maxing mage. Do they stack?

Yes. You might want to keep an eye on Articulacy. I think it decreases the time spent charging the magick bow skills.

My gamertag is HappyDaiz73, feel free to add me...even if it's just to send me crap you don't want. I think you'll like my pawn Gabrielle, although she/we are probably lower level than you are. I think we're at 76 right now.

Does the item have to be "kept", though? I tried mixing spring water with pretty much everything rotten I had (not kept), but didn't have the option to rejuvenate them. I should really do that. I have a ton of airtight flasks and sprint water, and even more rotten crap that Asalam's guarding for me.

Ooh! And I finally got the Well Equipped achievement last night.

P.S. That new DLC armor is awful. Really? A big green party hat? /facepalm

I do believe the rotten items must be in flasks, which is probably why I never noticed you could combine them with spring water before. I mean, who wants to preserve rotten food? Well, except me?

Here's what my arisen does when she is forced to fight two drakes on her own:
Posted Image
Surprisingly, she survived the ensuing munch, quickly revived her pawns, then ran up the stairs.

Then this happened.

My current character's pawn is actually called Gabrielle too. It'll be a bit too confusing having two of them running about.

But I have some top notch gear I've come about that I don't need. I hate those garms and elder ogres so I'll share it about.

Which brings me to a negative I've noticed. Pawns seem to be more stupid than normal in Dark Arisen. They're supposed to help when I get grabbed by an enemy and even when I summon them with the "Help" command they often take long just to help me. Often it's myself who rescues myself from the clutches of an ogre or the mouth of a maneater. Speaking of which...I decided to watch some Dark Arisen videos on YouTube the other day of some guy playing on hard-mode and I saw him get eaten alive by a man-eater. The noise it made when it swallowed him literally made me cringe. I'm glad that's never happened to me. Ouch.

I really hope in the sequel they ditch this whole "organic learning" thingie and just take a note or two from Dragon Age and actually allow us to completely set the tactics of our pawns. I would like it if we could control our main pawn too. I mean, the problem isn't there as a mystic knight class as I can enchant my own weapons and spells but playing as any class that can't do that, you need to ask your mage to do so and if they have more than one enchantment, they might cast the wrong one you want. It would be good if we could specify the spell somehow.

I think I'm near Damian now. I've reached the Fallen City (which is spooky BTW) but all the tales I've heard of this guy inspired me to hunt some more garms, elder ogres, cursed dragons (and Death himself) to level up some more.

I see big things for Dragon's Dogma. I didn't care at the time but now that I think of it, the game would be even more awesome with co-op.

Helping would be killstealing, this is something she has to do on her own. Hey, look at that lovely corpse nettle!

^ I'm sure she will. She's nothing if not consistent. I think that was a temporary fluke, although she might have slipped herself a bottle of something-something to snap out of it, without me noticing.

I have Shinon with us right now. I figured I'd alternate a little bit here and there. Share the love, and all that.

So just out of curiosity, which class do you guys think Gabrielle is most helpful in? For me, she seems better balanced as a Fighter class, and a little less prone to dying. I've just been debating on what's most useful. The last thing Team BSN needs is another archer, hehe.

She worked rather well for me as a mage, but if you go that route you might want to level her as a sorcerer to buff her magick stat. What's most important however is that Gabrielle compliments your fighting style. If you need her to draw attention and keep enemies off your back she should stay as a fighter or warrior.

And I just noticed team BSN is all redheads.

Food for thought. I do always need a mage; maybe I'll put her back in that role. Her Magick stat is godawful, compared to a lot of the ones I've hired. I believe I have both Mage and Sorcerer maxed out for her, but I didn't take all of the augments. I'll have to check to see if I forgot those or any core skills.

Knowing me, I'll probably keep switching her around. Hopefully that won't mess you guys up too much if you use her.

They ARE all redheads. Weird!

BTW, after being in Bitterblack, post-game Everfall seems almost easy.

I spent some time there last night, because I knew I could pick up a ton of curatives, and fought another Evil Eye, Hydra, Wyrm, and a whole bunch of Saurian Sages - I had been wondering where in the bleep I could get Snowy Saurian Skin. Now I know!

I still haven't fought the Ur dragon yet, online or offline. When I get to that level, I turn around and jump. Posted Image

Shinon's usually pretty good at getting my arisen out of trouble, but when she's gulped up by a maneater, he pretty much says "to hell with this, I'm not touching that thing" and goes his own way. The rare times he does come to her rescue, it's with a skill that takes eons to charge, when he could just, I dunno, attack the thing. When she's grabbed by a drake or Daimon, though, she's pretty much instantly dropped. I have him set to challenger/guardian, seems to work fine about 90% of the time.

I can never have too many archers. I wish pawns could be magick archers.

Gabrielle was a better mage at level 60-something than most of the level 120+ mages I'm hiring now. They never heal me unless I tell them to, and one of them was actually climbing on an ogre and bashing it with a staff. This one here on the left, his name's Death, and he spent 90% of the time with me in that state. He couldn't get out of his own way. I would occasionally have to pick him up and carry him out of magic targeting circles.

And they weren't hit by that eliminator, they're practicing their synchronized swimming routine. In the air. With daggers.

edit: technically, Shinon's a pinkhead. He was a redhead until I realized there was a pink hair option.

^ I have Gabrielle set as a Guardian Medicant (I think?), which might be why she was so attentive to the healins'.

That brings up a good point; most of the mages I've hired in the past 10 levels or so have been awful. I've mostly paid attention to their spells, magick level, and equipment enhancements, but really haven't paid much attention to their personality tendencies.

It seems to me like most of them have stood right in front of large enemies, like they don't even notice them. 'Master, an Ogre!' Why don't I just stand right in front of it? Blah.

They're usually the first pawn to die. Which is irritating, as they're playing the role of healer.

OK, you talked me into it. I'll switcher her into a mage when I get home from work this evening. Posted Image I've acquired some new gear, so it will be fun playing dress-up with her.
