Gabrielle's been getting hired pretty regularly as of late, but hasn't been getting any gifts, so I'm guessing she must be croaking before her time.  Kinda like last night. Death took out everyone before their time - even Briana. I was left to run all the way back to a rift stone. It was kinda pathetic.

Shinon's also being hired a lot and getting no gifts. Oodles of rift crystals, so at least he's hanging around for a little while. But yeah, Death. Also that bridge in the fortress of remembrance + frenzied ogre = "what a gaffe..."

I don't actually release team BSN that often anymore, because... there's no real need to. I usually send something after a successful Daimon run, or if I feel terrible after Death kills someone for the fifth time, other than that, nope. If you guys need something, I'll send it, though. I doubt Carcharoth needs anything, which is why I keep throwing Ne'er-do-parts at him. Everyone can use those at some point.

Is his whole schtick to put you to sleep, then pull out his scythe and kill you? Is this something that peppermint seed can help, if you time it right? Stupid Death.

My arisen has 100% resistance to sleep, so she runs around and jostles everyone awake. Even awake, though, pawns don't seem to listen when I demand them to follow me and still get cut down. They keep shouting to watch out for the scythe, but they don't heed their own warnings. Same thing with maneaters. They babble on about its instant death spells and then they go and hang out in the exequy circle.

We're such slaves to fashion.

The only way the heresy cloak would've come off is if there had been a yellow neck wrap.

I wouldn't have cared even if the stats went into the negatives. Squeeing like a complete idiot > decent defensive properties.

I've been playing with Team BSN exclusively, too. It's worked out really well, with Gabrielle being a mage, and having everyone else as archers. I release both Shinon and Briana about once a day, just so you guys can benefit from the RCs, and see that they're being used. Then I immediately hire them again.

I should work on the sleep resistance. I wasn't thinking. I actually could have equipped one of my 12000 anti-sleep rings on both Gabrielle and I, but didn't think of it. That music puts me in a trance.

I'm crossing my fingers that there still could be a yellow neck wrap.

And dern it, I'm going to put Gabs in that yellow dress. And apologize in advance for her bad stats. Heh.

I can't believe I'm already up to level 96. This was a brand new character I created for DA, and no NG+.

Shinon has developed an unfortunate habit of getting eaten by wraiths, following enemies off cliffs and being taken by Death. I rehire asap, but usualy only send stuff if one of you needs something or if Olra has purified another Hellfire cloak. You need Frostwyrm Scute for the Dragon's Glaze, btw.

If you start farming Daimon for xp and bring Martyr's Talismans or Veteran's Periapts, you'll go up several levels each time you beat him.

Oh, hey, random question. I went to post-game Everfall a couple of days ago, and fought the Ur Dragon (offline). When he was down to half a bar of health, he flew away. I got a shot in on his wings, but that was it. He was gone.

Does that normally happen, or did I totally get trolled? Posted Image

That always happens. You can sleep at an inn and he'll come back. Break more of his hearts and repeat until he's dead. In NG+ they add a special riftstone in Cassardis that takes you directly to him. You should also know that he isn't affected by the difficulty selection. On Hard mode, drakes hit harder than he does. The online version is no different, except he has a bit more health.

I thought he was actually quite easy in offline mode. I just crawled from point A to point B through the whole fight, until I eventually ran out of stamina. That's right at the point where he left, to my chagrin.

Of course, they have that Ur Dragon promotion going on right now, which may have affected the difficulty somewhat. I don't have anything to gauge it against, aside from other dragons in BBI that I've fought.

Once you go Bitterblack... The cursed dragons and Grigori use some of the same moves, and golems have the same "multiple weak points" gimmick so those are really the best comparisons. He isn't a difficult fight once you know what you're doing, just time consuming until you can take him out in one attempt.

As for the promotion, I assume it's to entice people into fighting the online version instead of farming BBI for equipment.

Cursed dragons, bah. I'm finally to the point where I'm not hiding from them anymore, lol. I'm not sure why I was such a chicken, but there it is. I've got at least 10 of them under my belt now, and I'm sure there will be many more. The first couple of Cursed dragons were pure comedy - each one took me probably an hour to kill, because I was busy ineffectively sniping from the next room, so I could avoid getting hit.

Now I just need to figure out how to kill goreclops more effectively. Those seem to take for-freaking-ever.

And I'm right outside the Fallen City, getting ready to visit my ole buddy Daimon again. Well, I mean I will be once I get home from work. I am a little nervous about the next two areas...

Still better than having a gorcyclops kill it for you... and then having you pawn kill  that because getting near it was guaranteed to end in failure.

Now I just need to figure out how to kill goreclops more effectively. Those seem to take for-freaking-ever.

i don't know if there is a faster way. Liquid Vim, Demons/Conquerers periapts and your best ranged attack from a ledge seems to be the most effective solution. I've tried clinging to them, but kept getting thrown off when they became enraged. Jumping and smacking them with a sword works, but it's slow.

And I'm right outside the Fallen City, getting ready to visit my ole buddy Daimon again. Well, I mean I will be once I get home from work. I am a little nervous about the next two areas...

You'll get either three living armors, three eliminators and a greater wyvern; or eight eliminators, three living armors and two wyverns. Death can show up too. Stay on the rooftops and you'll be fine.

Team BSN is now Team Sexy. Shinon is going to be wearing a cursed king's belt and nothing else. The elder ogres are going to go bonkers. Hell, everything is, including this saurian..

Stand on the upper floor so they can't hit you and spam ninefold (or sixfold) bolt. Your pawns will run around in a circle and be useless, but the cyclops will fall in less than a minute. If you can't get to an upper floor, there's usually an overhang that they can't walk under and get at you. Again, ninefold bolt. try and aim for the head, but it doesn't really matter.

It's those cheating wyverns that hit you with spells when they can't even see you. It gets nuts when there's pawns and monsters flying everywhere. I hate skipping the monsters by going over the rooftops, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

They only throw spells at me when they can't see me. All other times they'll just flap angrily in my general direction and crash land somewhere inconvenient  when they get knocked down. Everything else in the room is a cakewalk from the roof. The ground is a different story entirely.

Yeah that pesky death killed everyone save for my main pawn. Once again I must express my hatred for the pawn AI which sucks when compared to other games with party members. I find that the pawns often avoid Death's sleep spell only to be sliced in half by his scythe as they circle around him like headless chickens. Why dodge his spell but not his attack? Stupid pawns. I had to carry my main pawn while lighting those holy beacons to fend off Death because I'm pretty sure she would have run into his scythe if I hadn't.

In any case I'm simply farming for experience right now. The gorecyclopes are good for this but so is that region past that tower (with the Eliminator in) with respawning enemies.

8th one I've killed thus far...

I've been playing Halo: Reach recently so I was off Dark Arisen for a few days and in that time I've decided to face Damian when I'm even more powerful. BTW, do you gain a special weapon (based on your current weapon) when defeating him?

I love the Eliminator fights. By enchanting my weapon with ice and then using Antler's Toss I can hit the Eliminator into the air repeatedly which is fun.

Oh and has anyone noticed that guy in Gran Soren (he's a big guy who is sleeveless and does the hater's gonna hate walk) starting fights in the slums? I've seen it twice now. Once in my first playthrough and again now in my fourth. Next time I see it (I think he starts these fights midday) I'll be sure to take a picture of it.

Seriously, I might be going mad to dare and say this but...sometimes I enjoy Dark Arisen more than Dark Souls...I mean on hard mode the game is totally different. Debilitations are no longer simply annoying effects, poison will severely hurt you and you will need cures for it, fire takes a lot more health and the debilitations which lower strength and resistances can really mess you up.

You have to learn enemy weaknesses, attack patterns and create tactics against them and buffing becomes much more important. I mean there are things Dragon's Dogma would never beat Dark Souls (for example: exploration, the world, the lore, the story, the dialogue, the characters and atmosphere) but in terms of combat and gameplay I'm starting to think DD has a-lot more depth.

Indeed, a Dragon's Dogma sequel that is console exclusive would tempt me to buy a PS4. I've sunk so many hours into this game. Hell even that Deep Down game is enticing me. If it's anything like Dragon's Dogma (hey it could even be related or DD2) then I'm already sold.

The little we know of DD2 already suggests we can expect even greater features.

http://www.xbox360ac...s-Swoop-In.html

They are planning quest creation and the ability to run up monsters (perhaps for strider type classes or this implies monsters will be much bigger this time around). By quest creation I'm thinking that perhaps you could create like say (for example) an escort mission from Gran Soren to the Grey Wall or maybe have two drakes attack Gran Soren or even create some sort of defence mission where you must defend The Encampment from enemy hordes alongside the soldiers there (I'm just using these as examples, I'm hoping the next game is set somewhere new or least contains somewhere new).

Now imagine co-op along with a proper save system and improved AI. We'd have game of the decade right there.

You don't gain anything special, but after beating awakened Daimon one of the chests will usually give you a level 3 cursed weapon.

He was standing beside her, daggers at the ready when she opened that chest. Then he ran the opposite way and yelled "Maneater!" Gabriellewalked over and hit it with her staff. I've really gotta fix his inclinations. Somehow they switched to scather/challenger without my knowledge. I'm surprised they're not both "miner." Well, if that was a thing. I suppose it would be acquisitor, huh?

I didn't upload that Shinon to the server, although I was surprised that he actually survived his entire time in BBI, except for the insta-kill dragon roars. Maybe next time you'll see that Shinon when you summon him to the rift. He did seem to like the outfit, though. But when he started asking others to not call him Shinon, but call him this instead, I decided it was time to put his clothes back on. ;)

I actually thought it was certain, until the INSANELY USEFUL AT THIS STAGE OF THE GAME perfect rift crystal started popping up inside that chest. So it's possible to end up with nothing but rift crystals for killing Daimon. fun.

Also, re:DD2, I'd like to see more classes, or even just more abilities/augments, especially for pawns. Co-op would be nice as well, Team BSN would actually function properly, except I'd be on mage duty, trying in utter futility to fire arrows from a bow I no longer have.

Feh, we need no mage. I have an entire storage tent full of harspud sauces.

I think it happens when you use the go command to many times... or when you attack the stongest enemy and they decide to imitate you. At least it's an easy fix.

Found a couple of helmets that go with that belt, but they're for warriors, fighters and mystic knights. Eliminators drop them sometimes.

And that's what I ended up getting...the worse of the two options.

And Death was chasing us around for quite a while before that. Every last one of my pawns died at least 3 times. It was nearly enough for me to put down the game for the night.

It's those cheating wyverns that hit you with spells when they can't even see you. It gets nuts when there's pawns and monsters flying everywhere. I hate skipping the monsters by going over the rooftops, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

I stayed on the rooftops as much as I could, but I was constantly being zapped by the wyverns, and falling down. Mystic Knight was NOT the class to fight that room in. At least for me.

They only throw spells at me when they can't see me. All other times they'll just flap angrily in my general direction and crash land somewhere inconvenient  when they get knocked down. Everything else in the room is a cakewalk from the roof. The ground is a different story entirely.

I think I actually would have been ok on the ground, as I did finally get all the eliminators, but the living armors were stil in formation, and hadn't come at us yet when I finally said, 'to hell with this' and used a Liftstone.

So in that room right before the Fallen City, we were greeted by two fire drakes. Shinon decided to go jump off a cliff, and Briana got chomped, so I ran back up to the rift stone, and brought them back. When we went back out into the room, the half-dead drakes were replaced with wyverns at 100% health. /facepalm

Yeah...I somehow missed these chests when I defeated Daimon. I am an idiot. Posted Image

But at least last night I got a new helm as a drop from an Eliminator - it looks like an ox head. And the night before, I got a barbarian helm. There seems to be a theme with horns.

I have been using the go command.... and the help command and the come command in quick succession to try to get wacky poses in screenshots. That probably did fry his brain.

Found a couple of helmets that go with that belt, but they're for warriors, fighters and mystic knights. Eliminators drop them sometimes.

Yeah, I think I have both eliminator helms. Some of the warrior/fighter stuff looks nice, I wish I could function as one, but it's never been my playstyle, in any game. There always has to be something sparkly flying from my fingers, and I always have to be in danger of being killed in one hit.:wizard:

And my Arisen finally broke the news to Barnaby about Aelinore. Despite having no emotions, he looked pretty pissed. She was quite surprised.

...also...that Heresy Cloak...it blends in seamlessly with the chest straps of the abyssinal coat! I don't know where it ends and the coat begins! The patterned gambeson is a tad jarring, I'm still trying to find something that works there. I forget why I gave the abyssinal outfit to my arisen, but I know there was a reason, probably a fashion-related one.

Yep, we're supposed to be saving the world, but we're too busy playing dress-up.

Random question, I spent levels 1-15 as a mage and 15-18 as a sorcerer and am now somewhere around level 20 as a Mystic Knight, should I switch back to a Sorcerer for a while to boost my magic damage? Also, my GT is JerZey CJ if anybody wants to use my pawn(please) she's a Strider.

^ I'd recommend maxing out a vocation before moving on to the next (or at least eventually planning to max it out). The offensive and core skills you'll really appreciate later don't kick in until you're pretty much maxed in a vocation.

That said, I think it's generally a good idea to try out every vocation. Each one has a core skill you will absolutely want later. You should also swap out vocations with your pawn from time to time, until they're maxed in everything.

Here's some info regarding Stat Growth that you might find useful.

So I guess I should go back, finish up mage(more health), then the Sorcerer(More magic damage) before going to the Magick Knight? I usually just immediately switch to the Vocation I want as soon as I hit Gran Soren to get to the class that I really want to play.

*edit Yeah, did that on my last character, but I didn't level the classes up. I just hopped into them to get the bonus health/stamina/whatever that they have in the first tier and then switched back. Did stick with a class a little longer if it had something I really wanted though(like the Ranger).

Magick Archer, or Mystic Knight? Posted Image I usually switch between those two vocations these days, now that I have pretty much everything else maxed, with the exception of the Warrior class - to me, they're kinda slow and clunky, and most that I've hired have been the first to die in any battle. Fighter is decent (and has Sinew). I'm also about halfway through Strider, so I need to go back and finish that up as well.

Magick Archer is my favorite class. If the other ranged vocations had auto-targeting, I might be swayed, just for the sheer power of the bows. I use two support pawns that are both Rangers (go Team BSN!), and it's pretty impressive to stand back and watch them go at it. They can take down an elder ogre in no time, provided he's distracted. The last time we fought the dark bishop and his pet cursed dragon in Bitterblack, they pummeled and killed the bishop while my clunky Mystic Knight butt was still trying to get over to him to hit him.
