She must. I think she covets everything my Arisen holds dear.
I've been toying with the idea of pulling my original Arisen out of retirement, so I can go on the books as having completed two runs. I did finally get Iorveth to not look like a pansy. Not sure he would work very well in Team Sexy, though.
Don't hurt my brain, HD.
It might be a good time to switch Gabs out, if this picture is anything to go by. There appears to be dissent among the ranks, Briana and Gabrielle both believe they're the sexiest member of Team Sexy.

Gabrielle is known to turn Skeleton Lords to dust with just a *look*..

Briana just needs to ready her bow, and the monsters fall at her feet.

She-Risen remains impartial.

This one might be a bit hard to see, I couldn't get a good angle as the camera kept trying to fix itself, but...look at her waist. That's messed up.

It put me in mind of Mortal Kombat's Havik, he had a move that twisted his body around like that.

He's learning!
...but he's still a little stupid.

He's aiming at a basic sulfur saurian. Death is behind him, scythe up. Instead of waking up the arisen and bolting for safety, he stands there and gets us both killed. BRILLIANT.

There's no weapon for any vocation that looks like a scythe, is there? I have an idea for...something and I require a scythe. So far in my inventory the closest thing to a scythe that I have is the Ferric Talon, which really isn't cutting it, pardon the pun.

I'm sure the idea I have won't translate as good as I want it to to a bunch of screenshots, but having my music playlist going while farming Bitterblack Isle made something click, and now I have to do it.

Either way I hope Capcom get more compotent scripters for the next game. Only occansionally do the pawns surprise you with some clever AI maneuver.
Oh and it's official:
Dragon's Dogma > Dark Souls in my book.
I can't believe I am saying....wait...
SOLAIRE NO! PUT THE WEAPON DOWN!!!
I'M SORRY!!!

My main pawn and Carcharoth's pawn are rangers that have both slain death before. They still pretty much jump into his scythe's path at the drop of a hat. I'll call for them to follow me but they don't listen. Happy's Gabrielle will get cut down too, as she's constantly casting anodyne and can't move. I try to get Death to focus on me, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've been forgetting lately that I no longer have 100% resistance to sleep since shuffling my equipment around and really shouldn't be engaging Death like I do.Elton John is dead wrote...
I switched my main pawn to ranger half way through the expansion. All those annoying situations where she used to get killed by Death soon faded but maybe that's because her foe knowledge of Death was two stars so she knew to stay away?

I don't know if i could put one above the other. I love them both for entirely different reasons, but DD's lack of helmets that look like onions is a real kick in the teeth. Then again, DD's silver knights don't use dragonslayer greatbows, so it kinda balances out.
But anyway, this skeleton has a heart in its groin.

Just thought I'd share that.

If you'd like to see Iorveth, in all of his sexy glory, I'd be happy to share him. I think he and that Arisen are only like level 60, though. It could be a serious bloodbath. He's a Ranger, so I might have to make him learn the healing ways. Just no mage robe, though. They look like old lady housecoats.Shepenwepet wrote...

Oh, and btw, I found Gabrielle a new dress to wear. My Arisen had to wear it first, to get it Dragonforged, but now it's all hers. It's red this time - not quite as sexy, but better stats. I rested before I literally rested last night, so she'll be wearing it now...unless you guys DO want to meet my boy...

I mean, how many Golems do you fight in the average playthrough? Many, right? I seem to keep finding these guys in random places, post-game. Yet the ones outside of Selene's house in the Witchwood still don't seem to want to wake up. I found myself pretty useless as a sorcerer in that fight.
It's probably nearly impossible to see, but Death decided to pay us a visit while we were fighting two Wyrms. Thanks, Death.

I still haven't killed that turd. After he wiped out my entire party, I ran back to the Arisen's Refuge to get everyone, then went out on a Death Hunt, and never found the guy. He must have heard I was looking for him, because he showed up at the most inopportune time. Somehow we all lived through it, except Briana. It was very sad.

It's up to you, really. I'm good either way. I've run through BBI without a healer, so it can be done. It's a bit bloody and requires lots of incense sniffing and drinking several potato-related liquids, but it's possible.
Also, a four archer team is my kinda team.

Aside from having an optional mage, the other classes really don't seem all that helpful.
We'll have to go fart around in BBI for a while to get him some new gear. It's crazy how easy that all seems, once you've gone through it a few times. Of course, I have yet to defeat awakened Daimon.

^This is the Forsaken Cathedral, in the area with all the staircases leading downward, like in the Gutter of Misery. The thing is, I don't think I ever got those two chests. I didn't even know they were there. I was just about to quit for the night, so I didn't look around for that long, but I couldn't seem to find a way to get to them. You can't access them through that door you see in front of them, as you can't interact with the door. It's also a hard spot to get to without double vault or levitate.
The next time I play I'll investigate more.

Briana and Iorveth got to mine together, although I can't tell if there's the makings of a scuffle, or sexual tension.

We came up to the Cursed Dragon in the Pilgrim's Gauntlet, and that was pretty much it. My husband laughed at me, because he was able to watch an entire movie in the time it took me to defeat that stupid thing. Briana and Shinon killed that giant eyeball in about 30 seconds, but this guy was a problem.

I've fought so many of these now that I just assumed I would kick butt even with a lower level character. No, not so much.
At least I got three pieces of armor dragonforged out of the deal.
And Shinon has not learned his lesson. This is about the third time a maneater got him. My Arisen couldn't be bothered to help. Well, she did help eventually - couldn't leave him hangin'.

He has the same voice as Shinon, which was rather trippy. It was funny to hear the sweet and snarky version of everything.
And sweet baby Jesus, I need to get him some new clothes. I'm trying, but I'm not stumbling upon anything yet.
Are you still playing as a Warrior?

Great Cannon, though... I'm liking that. Still, I'll feel more at home with a bow.
Ooh, another shot i forgot to post.

Ahh, so that was a shield on your back. In hindsight, that makes sense. Yeah, I like the magic cannon. If your archers can't be bothered to shoot something out of the sky, that does the trick.
When I was playing my other Arisen (as a Sorcerer), I was having a ball with Grand Gicel. I knew it worked well on the ground, but it worked even better with enemies in the air. You had to be close enough to target them, but when you finally get that spell cast, the ice goes pretty high up, and brings 'em down every time. That was my entire tactic when I was fighting a wyvern at Duskmoon Tower. Good times. The cast time is ridiculous, though.
Oh! Last night I got my first "Daggerist" ring. Seriously? Within a couple of hours on that character, but never with the other one? My odds must have been better since both my character and pawn were archers, I'm guessing. Actually, we tried the 'all archer' squad. It worked out pretty well, up until that cursed dragon.

You know you play too much Dragon's Dogma when... yeah.Hey there Arisen!
How’s your day going? I hope you’re finding all sorts of bitterblack gear littered about the crags of the city of dis.
I’m afraid I’ve run into a troubling foe... a rare “event log-atrice”, alas, my pawns know not of this beast, and I’m forced to troubleshoot it with minimal gear. And it just failed again. Easy does it… easy does it… must, not, throw, keyboard, into, screens…

But anyway.
Gabrielle had to take some time off due to extensive ab-induced swooning.

In her place we now have Iorveth, the charming fellow you see here leering at Briana.

He's a rookie, so the team decided to start off by showing him the ropes.
Here, Briana teaches him the all-important "leaping over the useful curative instead of picking it up" tactic.

He's a quick learner.

Shinon may have felt threatened by this newcomer, because it seemed he was trying to cement his place on the team by being SUPER ATTENTIVE.
He even got over his fear of maneaters.

Here he is fixing his master's weapon belt.

...and her delta guard...

Also, I don't know what the hell's going on here, I think it's inside a maelstrom.

Oh, Shinon.

We decided to do some shopping. I think my Arisen secretly has eyes for Iorveth, but she isn't sure about that mouse he seems to be chewing on (I changed his voice).

I think I must be really confusing the Bitterblack cursed gear. I'm playing as a Magick Archer (yellow/blue), and Iorveth is a Fighter (red) for now, and nearly all of the gear we purified last night was for Assassin (yellow).
We also got a shield and a longword that neither of us could use. Woo! I can't remember the name of the longsword, but I don't see it in the wiki.
Oh, and I found that room! Yay! I have no idea how I missed it before. I got more rift crystals and a level 2 cursed item.Carcharoth42 wrote...
If those are the chests I think they are, you have to jump up some ledges in the room with the Dark Bishop to get to them.

I'm probably gonna do a few Daimon runs tonight, if I get a BBI weapon drop I already have, I'll reload and send it off your way. I wish I could send you my spare Blackwing Bow. I feel terrible that it's just sitting in my storage and rotting amongst all those nasty-smelling vegetables and rancid meat.
Shinon, that's it, you need to learn magick archery. Magick archers can KICK DEATH IN THE FACE.

It's unfair that pawns can't be magick archers. Evil pawns can. I think they can be mystic knights too, if I remember right.
I got nuttin' but rift crystals. But yep, that was the place. If it hadn't been for the wonky camera, I'd never have known about them.Carcharoth42 wrote...
