I'm probably gonna do a few Daimon runs tonight, if I get a BBI weapon drop I already have, I'll reload and send it off your way. I wish I could send you my spare Blackwing Bow. I feel terrible that it's just sitting in my storage and rotting amongst all those nasty-smelling vegetables and rancid meat.

Aww, thank you! You guys are so good to me. Posted Image

Shinon, that's it, you need to learn magick archery.  Magick archers can KICK DEATH IN THE FACE.

Posted Image

It's unfair that pawns can't be magick archers. Evil pawns can. I think they can be mystic knights too, if I remember right.

That shot is brilliant.

I think you're right. They were probably smart to limit the pawn vocations. I imagine many would never get used, because most people would probably opt to use hybrid vocations instead.

Can you imagine a team of all Magick Archers? Posted Image

I only wish I had a Blasphemer's Cloak.

It's all I get. To make matters worse, that's the ONLY item you can get with that set, so I can't just swap vocations and get something else. From the wiki:

There are ten sets! HOW COME I KEEP GETTING THE SAME ONE??!

I tossed it over to you, HD. They say it resets when you send an unpurified item.

I know that feeling. I always get Hellfire cloaks.

One more time. I'm going in one more time. I can't possibly get another one.

And I MUST remember wakestones this time. This stupid wyvern cost me the one I picked up in the forgotten hall.
Posted Image
It kept flopping around on rooftops out of my reach, so I left it alone for a few seconds and pulled the three eliminators from the path to the door.

A second later, it was in the clearing and had blown me off the cliff.

So I did two runs through BBI. Why two, you ask?
First run:
Posted Image
I actually didn't get an armor from the chests that time, Daimon dropped it.

Second run, after letting Shinon open the chest and take the armor drop, thinking maybe he'd have better luck:

Even Daimon can't believe it.

You can save in front of the chests and use godsbane to make sure you get the cursed item instead of riftcrystals.

I keep forgetting to take it with me. It's one of those things I remember like a second before I actually need it.

Like wakestones.

And periapts.

Oh, and to the dude (I assume it's a dude) that hired Shinon and gave him a 1-star appearance rating? You hurt his feelings. I also assume the mottled leather you sent as a gift was to use to make him a shirt.

Sorry, all his clothing slots are full. Chainmail bracers count as a shirt for some reason.

I did, however, put his hammer pants back on. I forgot I had them.

Now that is a bummer about the cloaks. I wonder if it would help to switch up both you and Shinon's vocations?

And thanks for the gear! I sent you a message on XBL, noting that I ended up getting Traitor's Armor and the Gauntlets of Shadow. Iorveth is wearing the armor, and my Arisen is wearing the gauntlets.

I fought Grigori to speed things along, so at least the gauntlets were Dragonforged (along with all the other strange, mismatched armor I was weaing).

Extreme action shot:

Posted Image

I'm trying to figure out how in the heck I got that ring (not sure of the exact name), that adds 25% resistance to everything. I didn't get it this time, and I'm not even absolutely sure I got it after fighting Grigori last time, but I'd like one in this run.

Edit: Derp, 'Dragonblood' is in post-game Everfall. I will be going there next, I think.

It doesn't, sadly. The item set is determined at the time of the drop, and if it's the blasphemer's cloak, I'm SOL. How many of these blasphemers were there, and don't they wear anything BESIDES cloaks?

I do swap both Shinon's and my arisen's vocations (hence their lack of clothes in those pics as I'm not bothered to change their equipment if they're only gonna be warriors for three seconds), because I'm trying for a twinpaler/twinterfang or a devil's nail. Still no luck there. Bitter End, Diabolic Shield, Dread Aspis.

Sadly, the cloak is an all-vocation item, so there's no escpaing the blasphemy.

I meant doing a run where you're both actually a different vocation, so you're both whatever you're going for when you do the item drop?

I think you can stack it in your own favor...like if you're trying to get a red item, your chances are better if you're both playing as Fighter/Warrior (or maybe even Mystic Knight)?

Or maybe you're already doing that, lol. I need coffee.

I see that the Blasphemer's Cloak is every piece; that's strange. I haven't gotten a single one yet. Of course, I'm busy farting around in vanilla game atm. I did get this Arisen past the dark bishop, but stopped there.

If you feel like going through the hassle you can save before opening the chest, copy the save to a different storage device, open the chest and check the item. If you don't like what you get, reload from the other save and potentially get a different item set. I'm to lazy to do all of that, but some are more dedicated to farming items than I am.

I had actually done a "return to last checkpoint" once, resulting in being sent back to the riftstone outside of Bitterblack Sanctum. If I remember right, that's the time I got the Boots of Oblivion.

I don't think it makes a difference, as every set has an item of each color in it.

According to the wiki, I might have better luck farming the Midnight Helix, as there are two armor chests there.

I have time right now. I'm gonna go take a peek.

Well, after several minutes of "where exactly WAS Midnight Helix?" I managed to get there. I killed Death on the way, but he never dropped his lantern. Boo.

One of the level 3 chests had a rift crystal, but the other...
Posted Image

Oh yeah.

I'm probably still going to use the dragonwing circlet as I like the look of it better, but...

Finally. I sold all but one of my blasphemer's cloaks, and am now rolling in cash. they're good for something, I guess.

So I went into the everfall last night for a change of scenery, and to complete a quest.

And to be a hydra dentist.
Posted Image

Things got a bit wild.
Posted Image

Iorveth made a new friend!
Posted Image

And if you press start as you jump into the everfall (it happened every time for me, anyway) your Arisen goes all Cousin Itt on you.
Posted Image
I kinda wish I hadn't been wearing the veil there, I wonder if her face had've gotten stretched out.

Your weekend sounds similar to mine - I also became a hydra dentist, and noticed Iorveth making a number of strange buddies. I find it comical that every time a pawn grabs an enemy, they slow time down to tell you about it - and the goblins are always looking right at the camera. Seeing your snapshot totally brought me back.

I seemed to get a lot of this in the Everfall. Dang Succubi!

Posted Image

But you know what's even more annoying? The deer.

Posted Image

On a sidenote, I maxed out Fighter on my Arisen, so I switched over to Mystic Knight, which I only had about halfway done in this playthrough. I picked up two BBI level 2 cursed weapons, which prompted the change in vocation - both were maces. Of course, I can't seem to find them in the wiki.

Anyway, I didn't realize how much fun maces are; good lord, it's satisfying to beat the tar out of things! Posted Image There's just something about dat 'clunk'.

And Iorveth is an archer again. He maxed out Fighter and Warrior, and I'd just picked up a few new bows, so I thought it was time to bring him back.

And I still haven't gotten Dragonblood. *sigh*

I didn't play over the weekend, I still have some shots, though.

Here's Iorveth, ever-observant guardian of my Arisen.
Posted Image
Although perhaps he should have at least used the flat of his blade to block her path.

Shinon does the same thing, holding her back as Briana snipes a strigoi and Iorveth has some sort of mental breakdown.
Posted Image

Iorveth has certainly learned a lot from Shinon during his travels with us.

Poor Shinon. Maneaters just can't seem to help themselves from taking a bite of his tasty flesh.
And what is it with my pawns and mental breakdowns? Posted Image

Shinon has them too. He got a little upset when we had to kill a firedrake he'd grown attached to.

^ How do you always have such impeccable timing? I never catch shots like that!

But then, I'm mostly oblivious when I play, hehe.

Tonight will be my last night playing DD for a little while, as I'll be trying out Remember Me as of tomorrow. And if it's as short as I'm hearing, I guess I'll be back later in the week.

I mainly keep close to my pawns in battle and just hammer the start button until I get something I like. It can make an encounter that would normally last about ten seconds drag on into about five minutes, but I have an absolute ball with it. Infinite replay value. Sure, I get nothing done, but I can't stop.

I started Sleeping Dogs on the weekend, so I'll be away from DD for a few days as well.

^ I might have to check that out. Remember Me is ok, but...I wasn't expecting it to be such a combo-button-masher. My wrist was hurting after about an hour. It really makes me miss DD's combat. I may be back sooner than I anticipated.

Well, until The Last of Us comes out. Hehe.

Yeah, Sleeping Dogs is quite good. I was never a huge fan of GTA-style games, (although I played GTA3 and Vice City), but Sleeping Dogs is right up my alley.

Also, I was an unapologetic Robin Shou fangirl in my teens, hearing his voice saying all kinds of nasty things makes me giggle.

Also, to keep this on topic...

I still have to get around to starting Dragonborn and Dawnguard. I picked them up a few months ago when they were half price.
