Well I think I'm done with this game for now. Got playthroughs of Witcher 2 and Dragon Age: Origins to go through. Then there's Red Dead Redemption. Mass Effect 3 (finally purchased it to experience the epic endings) and Tomb Raider which I just ordered.
But I will be coming back to this game. It's become like Dark Souls for me, meaning it's the game I come back to now. Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm looking more forward to Deep Down than I am for Dark Souls 2. Deep Down -being revealed recently as not being connected to Dragon's Dogma by Capcom as I suspected*- just sounds amazing and if that trailer really is the in-game engine and actual gameplay then I'm sure we're going to be impressed by a range of visual eye-candy. If it's anything like Dragon's Dogma with its gameplay and innovation then we're in for a treat. It looks set to be a more hardcore RPG though with a more realistic combat system.
Also from what Ono has been saying on Twitter, it seems this game may have multiplayer since he mentions something about solo play.
http://www.onlysp.co...-ps4-exclusive/My interpretation is that this game will be like a mix between Dragon's Dogma, Dark Souls and Monster Hunter. At least I'm gathering this from the only trailer released. It could potentially be like a dungeon crawler when you need food and rations for survival and perhaps you're battling deeper down into some large dungeon/cave (judging by the working title it seems the game revolves around journeying down). If there's any groups of regular enemies then I can imagine utmost caution being involved while bosses could require expert strategy to defeat. This is where your party will probably be the most important and it's here where co-op (if there is any) would truly shine. Imagine taking down that dragon in the trailer with your mates or simply just playing most of the game with them facing the challenges of the underground together?
*Mind you Capcom might just be telling lies. Perhaps Deep Down is Dragon's Dogma 2 or a spin-off but if you ask me it seems they're trying to go for realistic combat here. Here we observe a knight hiding behind a shield as the dragon breaths fire at him, barely holding on and also striking carefully at the dragon while an elf fires at it from behind a wall. In Dragon's Dogma we see frantic action and the character and pawns grabbing foes and climbing up large enemies to bring them down. If you ask me the two seem to have different gameplay and I doubt they would be getting rid of Dogma's combat and revamping it for a sequel when they've expressed that they're proud of it.
