Hey guys, I'm level 50 and just started Everfall. I want to try out Mystic Knight and was wondering if it would be a bad idea switching now and leveling that vocation from rank one. Also where can I get a good mace and magic shield for the MK if it is a good idea to switch now?

Found a Dwells-In-Light after smacking the last Ur-Dragon around for a bit, and there's a free DLC available from Olra. I got to fight the Drake + Wyrm + Wyvern combo first. It felt good to curb-stomp all three of them after the trouble they gave me during the early levels.

You're welcome. I thought the wyrm hunt mantle looked nice with "holy knight" theme. Besides, you deserve some nice things after losing your original saves.

If you pick a fight with the guards in the Noble quarter and stand on a wall in front of the church you can level up a vocation while doing something else irl. The guards will ignore your pawns and the pawns will kill the guards for you while you gain DCP. Pick up an Angel's Sanctum and Threaded Cudgel from Caxton's until you find something better in the Everfall.

Also, don't bonk yourself in the face with your shield while you climb down a ladder.

I have maxed Sorcerer and I am one rank from maxing Warrior.

Finally maxed warrior and got the 20% str augment. Also farmed Dragon's Presence and Dark Buckler. Switched to MK and have been playing it and loving it. =D

Do I need to switch back to Iorveth, so you guys will play with him? Poor Gabrielle is not feeling much love. 

Last night, I decided to do a slightly different tactic than I've done in the past. Normally, I go through one of the BBI side doors, and continue forward. This time, I went in, and went backwards, so I fought the boss first, then all the lackeys. It was a refreshing change, tbh.

Briana took a little time out to play hopscotch.



Shinon struck a pose.



And we all had tea.



Afterwards, I used the Moonbeam Gem I'd acquired, and picked up my 11,576th Adept Robe.

I also switched Gabrielle over to Ranger, and played an all-Archer squad. As a mage, she was annoying me with casting right in front of enemies, so I decided it was time for a change.

Oh! And my friend Aradace just beat Daimon last night - it's his first time through BBI. He is playing SOLO - he's not even using his own pawn. And somehow he beat him. It took me forever, and I still haven't beat Awakened Daimon. Or Death. I am shocked and appalled. And jealous.

I try to take everyone's pawn for a spin when I can. Last night's BBI run just took a little longer than usual as I was playing as a warrior that dealt pretty much no damage. Chase and Quintin "learned new techniques" against many foes. Although if they just learned by watching, they should now assume warriors are supposed to run and hide from ogres and generally stand around and do nothing, occasionally using Catapult Blade for screenshot attempts that never quite work out they way you want them to. But anyway.


Shinon had just shouted something like "the sight of men excites it!" The ogre committed suicide a few seconds later by jumping off the bridge.

Oh! And my friend Aradace just beat Daimon last night - it's his first time through BBI. He is playing SOLO - he's not even using his own pawn. And somehow he beat him. It took me forever, and I still haven't beat Awakened Daimon. Or Death. I am shocked and appalled. And jealous.

It's certainly possible, I do quite a bit of damage on my own, but I don't think I'd want to try without my meatshields loyal protectors. Those claw swipes are nasty business. I'd have to bring armloads of wakestones.

I think I'll try this... and done. I like autonomy. No wakestones, just a few healing items and large mushrooms used.

I changed a couple of things for Gabs - gave her a ponytail, and a boob reduction. Those things were enormous. I put Trophy Armor on her, and those things looked ridiculous.

Anyway, I realized that now everyone looks nearly identical from the back, so I'll be changing her again. I might just switch to my other character, so I can tell everyone apart. I just can't make up my mind. Help.

It's that damned Sovereign's Mantle. Shinon's attached to his, even moreso than his old heresy cloak, so I normally have my Arisen wearing something different. I recently appreciated the irony of the "Dignified Cape" draped over my rather underdressed Magick Archer.

...I don't appear to have any shots of it. Oopsie. But it's just a short cloak with white feathers.

And I may have to do some facial editing of my Arisen. She looks angry all the time.

LOL!!! Sorry Chase was busy picking his teeth...or nose....**** maybe? XD I told you he was a bubblehead, didn't I? He is a friggin' Mac Truck, as a Warrior, and hella-good at Sorcerer.....but damn if he doesn't just make me want to kick his skinny butt as a Mage. heh!

He is technically maxed on all vocations, but all vocations he is NOT equal in.

@happy_daiz - I had every intention of taking Gab out last night, but I got stuck in that room with the two condemned Gorecyclopses and the corrupted pawns. Lost both Arya the Warrior and Briana (not her fault....totally mine. I couldn't get to either of them since the door was blocked by a giant monster. LOL). Needless to say, it took me an embarrassingly long time to finish the baddies off, and get to the Arisen Refuge. I will pick her up today though, just going to do a few little tasks with Briana (since I messed up last night), then I will grab her.

So I think I am going to set Chase to either Sorcerer or Warrior....any preferences from any? Of course, since I am a lower level than all of you (I think Chase and Ulee are at lvl 103 now), he probably isn't much help. XD

@Liamv2 - This game definitely has a steeper learning curve, but enemies don't scale (though some of the new enemy types in BBI seriously kick my ****.). However to balance out the lack of scaling, as I understand it, they toned down some of the OP aspects that your Arisen could end up with (i.e. Bloodlust going from 70% increase in strength, to 20%.....I think that was it (?) ), when they released Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.

@coldwet - no worries. I know which room you're talking about, and I completely understand. I usually hide in a doorway, so they can't reach us, and snipe. It can take a while, but it gets the job done. I'm using Chase, and he's holding his own. I just got to level 118, so I'm not too far from your level.

@Bekkael - I have Quintin in my party right now. He's learning about Eliminators, Skeleton Brutes, Cursed Dragons, Drakes, Pyre Saurians...well, a big chunk of bestiary. He's doing pretty well, considering. I gave him a Lambent Shield, so when I return him to you, hopefully he'll still have it. Edit: add to that list Dark Bishop.

@Shepenwepet, I haven't gotten that Moonshimmer Pelt yet that you gifted. Apparently DD is lagging on gifts again. Waa.

Sometimes pawns do strange things. Arya jumped into the ocean shortly after I dragonforged a bunch of armor for her. Hope motomotogirl gets the items anyway.

Well, my friend that solo'd the first run of BBI is busy telling me how easy the second run is. Seriously? There are parts that seem easy now, since I've fought them many times, but I still get owned in the Forgotten City, and my Awakened Daimon attempt was completely futile and laughable. I haven't gotten my courage up enough to go back.

And here this guy is, complaining because he thinks it's easy. SOLO. Makes me hang my head in shame. 

But I did just make homemade blueberry muffins. I rock as a domestic goddess, I guess. Hehe.

ahhh.../pat-pat...dear @happy_daiz. I have no idea how these people do that. The only time I have solo'd anything, has been because I got my companions/helpers killed. XD And I certainly have never "won" a party play game, while doing it.

I haven't taken her out yet - looks like she doesn't have any augments applied?

Chase spent most of his time healing Quintin, who was at full health, while my Arisen was doing everything short of sitting on him to get his attention. I think someone's in love!

Me too. Maybe I should have started getting serious about gaming earlier in life, but to be honest, it's more about enjoyment for me. The journey, not the destination.

The guy I mentioned researched pretty much every aspect of the Daimon fight, and probably every other enemy, before even starting BBI. He watched youtube videos for who knows how long. Where is the fun in that? I'll never understand; it's like intentionally getting spoilers before going to see a movie in the theater. To each their own, I guess.

Just picked up Gabrielle.

@Carcharoth - Feel lame just sending your Briana off with a liftstone, but I was unsure what to give. LOL
I did try and take her through some goblin/wolf infested areas, using different techniques to kill them....hoping to give her more knowledge, but I don't think it took. I will grab her when I take a sweep through Gransys. Heading back to BBI for a bit.

Chase got a new staff with better stats (the melting one...can't remember the exact name). I also had the team (Gabrielle, Shinon and elfboy) fight another Gorecyclops. They did great! Still took a while (that was where I got the better staff). OH, and I also picked up the Immortal bracers (gauntlets??...wuteva). And I now have two Archstaffs will very nice stats (hmm.....I wonder if that is a sign that I should either switch Chase to Warrior or Sorcerer)

Anyone know if the periapts still stack?? I tried it with the Gorecyclops, and it didn't seem to work. *shrug*

Right now I'm looking at 7 Living Armors, a Wight and a Lich in The Black Abbey. Briana was knocked off a cliff before we got here. My attempt failed horribly. I think I could have beat them with a magick archer.

If you don't see it after resting, it might be in your storage. I once got gifted some sour ambrosial meat I never actually saw until I opened my storage.
