I bought this game for PS3 last year, but never got into it (maybe played a couple hours). Is it good enough that I should go back and try it again?
I have no idea how I never noticed this yesterday. Anyway, the answer is yes. A few pages back, Carcharoth posted a list of reasons why. Although, if you couldn't get into it before and the reason was that you didn't like the combat, maybe stay away.

I like to imagine that Reynard sends my Arisen love letters from home, and they go a little something like this: "So I met that Shinon fellow the other day. He's very nice.
Reynard must have caught him on a really good day. Shinon's got a bit of an attitude. When my arisen is in danger, he'll say "I'm coming to help, master"... but he never does. When she's in the jaws of a maneater and he's standing right next to it, he'll take out his bow and charge up a shot that takes forever instead of just swiping once with his daggers. He also doesn't seem impressed when she runs out of stamina, if he gets around to help her (he rarely does) he'll usually say "You need my help AGAIN?"
I did switch him to Guardian last night (so he'd stick close in combat for photo reasons) and I think I forgot to switch him back. Oh well.
Confession: my Arisen does stare at Shinon's abs. Like a lot.
Last night, there was a short window of time in which Shinon got depressed and got into about seventy tubs of ice cream. He was getting stares of a different kind for a while, but he's okay now. He went on a strict diet of mushrooms and twigbeans and did a lot of golem-climbing for exercise.

Oh yes, I am definitely getting the impression that he is... very strong-willed lol Even when I talk to him, I feel like he's glaring at me and going, "What do you want?!" Me: *cowers* I'm sorry, Shinon, just please fire your arrows, kthxbai!
Well Reynard is a very nice guy, and he knows his Arisen has wandering eyes

I do have a question, why in all the great pics posted do the characters not have that chest/body wrap thing on, i can't seem to find a way to get rid of it..I want my character and my pawn to turn heads when they walk through gransys

I declined your request last night as I didn't know you were a BSNer. I tend not to accept random friend requests on Xbox.

Since the wiki usually only shows female characters displaying the armor, I can't tell you which pieces override the ridiculous wrap, but I know the Cursed King's Belt does, and that's what Shinon wears.

Seems to me that's the only piece that does it, but I may be wrong.
It's odd, as on the pawn customization screen, there's no body wrap.

Woo hoo! I have successfully run away from him again. I still need to look up how to kill him.Carcharoth42 wrote...
I have successfully farmed Death.
Last night, I decided to farm the Everfall a bit. I switched vocations to Warrior - which I had never played with this character. Mostly I wanted to try out Bitter End, as it's been just sitting there in my inventory, gathering dust.
The first thing we had to fight was a hydra. In this shot, we had just killed it.

And I tried out Dragonsbane for the first time.

I realized that I abhor playing the Warrior class, so I said to hell with it, and changed vocations for both me and Gabrielle. She's back to being a mage, and my Arisen is an Assassin. Purely for the lulz. And I figured I'd get my bow dragonforged, then give it to Gabs, so she can max out Strider.
And I'll probably change my mind again tonight.

Now if I can just get the flipping boots to finish my Shadow set.

You know what nets you Boots of Shadow? Killing Death. It's the quest reward.
You'll have to be the main damage dealer if your pawns are all melee, and even if they aren't they still don't seem to do that much. Shinon usually runs around in circles or fiddles with his lantern.

Well, according to the wiki, Magickal Gleam is supposed to stun him. Looks like I may be switching back to MA in the near future, for a Death party. You'll all be invited. Well, your pawns, anyway.

Arya would love to come; it's always exciting when she comes back and tells me she learned new things
By the way, if you guys have a suggestion for ways to improve her build, let me know. I played her as a warrior for awhile but she's back to fighter. I should probably try to max her out on warrior.

I hate using FB, so I don't have any shots...I will try and set it up though (it can be hard keeping work, family, friends and fun all separate on FB.
@happy_daiz - picked up Gabs as a mage last night. We are hitting up a few quests in Gransys later today. I too switched back to Assassin....got her in her Dark Lorica gear. Love that look.
@motomoto - will pick Arya again this evening. Are you keeping her fighter still? Did you get the Lambent Shield I gifted her?

That's one of the reasons I don't take pictures. I deleted my FB account after forgetting I had one for about two years. A month latter I find out DD uses it.coldwetn0se wrote...

Thanks! I hope Gabs has learned her lesson while in her time-out, about foolhardy casting in front of enemies, but that may not be the case. In retrospect, I think I forgot to apply the correct augments after I switched her vocation. Crap. Sorry about that. It was getting late, and I wish I had been eating ice cream. When I get home from work, I'll take a look, and will fix her up right.coldwetn0se wrote...

I had originally put my Arisen in the Dark Lorica, but I didn't have any pants that looked good with it - just the black thigh-high boots, and their stats, even as gold forged, weren't all that great.
So I booted Gabrielle out of the Shadow outfit so my Arisen could wear it.

I'll probably be on the hunt for him tonight, yes. I actually looked for him last night but only saw the usual bunch of gross scantily clad little girls and a few pawns I hired what seems like ages ago.
Hopefully he hasn't switched classes, or I'll never find him. If you see him in Gran Soren tonight, message me. I may have already found him, but in case I haven't, let me know.

Oh man, I'm not sure!! I'm sure I did?! I'm using a shield SOMEONE got me. I will check tonight. Lambent Shield, got it. I'll look at see what it's called, the one she's using.

Aghghghg I constantly forget about APPLYING the augments. GRRRR. Have to make sure Arya's good in that department. I think tonight we will forget the Everfall though and go wander through Gransys and hope to encounter some dragons.

I think Arya had on the Orilux Shield, when I gifted her the Lambent Shield. The Lambent Shield is a drop from the Ur_Dragon.
Crap, I googled them both and I think she is still using the Orilux Shield. But I was cycling through all my inventory last night and didn't see a new shield. Maybe I need to sleep again? I thought I did that last night though!

Everyone looks identical. That spiky helmet and traitor's armor.
So far I've gone through 141-149, using "male/fighter" as criteria. No Sil- or Sol-, a "Salde" popped up once and I got my hopes up, but he looked just like everyone else. I also don't get that many hits per level, maybe about ten for each. There has to be more than that out there.
And my internet went out mid-search once and it took about twenty minutes for me to fix it. Stupid internet.

I hope his owner didn't change his class; that would be an even bigger needle in a haystack. Dang it; I really wish I would have written down his name.
He'll turn up again. Have faith!

I'll go back and search through the 130s and 150s. It doesn't take that long, since I get only a handful of hits.
@motomoto, you can't search by pawn name, only level, class, gender and gamertag.
