Ha... tempted to let Arya run around in just her chainmail bikini top *LOL* I love it. She looks like a Valkyrie with that scary helmet someone gifted her, too! Ahh but her defense is so low...

Geez, I had no idea it was so hard to get stuff dragonforged. I must have just been incredibly lucky the first time I killed a drake and a wyvern.

How useful do you guys find Arya's Shield Drum?

I'm reading that a lot of people say it's useful for lower level players, but higher levels dislike it. I also apologize for making her secondary inclination Guardian; I had NOOOO idea it was so universally hated! Going to make her Scather/Mitigator.

As for augments, I know everyone appreciates Sinew. I'm researching what others are the best/most favorited. She finally maxed out warrior (but is back to being a fighter). I considered changing her to strider or ranger, but seems we already have quite a few archers in the mix! Also she'd have to give up her Valkyrie helmet :)

Hey Moto - Must admit, not a huge fan of Shield Drum (or the Warrior equivalent of 'War Cry'). The problem can sometimes be, if you are attempting to set something up (being all sneaky like), and need the baddies to be unawares, the "come get me!" talents kinda blow that. Also, pawns will still use it even if they are down to there last bit of life. If they catch the ire of the monster in question....*Blam!* Lights out. XD

As for augments for Warriors/Fighters, two of the most useful to me (after sinew...lol!) are Clout and Vehemence. If you are using a Warrior, try out one of the augments that keeps them from getting knocked to the ground, while they are powering up a skill. And one of my absolute favorite (for Warriors especially), is Ferocity. This makes the light/heavy plain attacks more powerful, and both of those attacks are much faster. I often don't even set Chase to use any power skills that require charging (or at the very least, very little charging). Oh, and even though I love some of the numbers on the badazz hammers, they weigh a lot more than the blades. Lighter weight does seem to translate to faster swing.

Don't worry about whether everyone else is playing with Rangers....it can be fun running with a bunch of archers. ;) Currently, I am actually magic heavy. I switched Chase back to Sorcerer (new Archstaff courtesy of Carchoroth), been using Gabs as Mage, and myself as a Mystic Knight. And then I have been swapping out the last spot for just about everybody...lol! Though I did end my playing this evening with Shinon.

So last little bit of play time summarizing; fought a cursed dragon tonight, and ended up with five items dragonforged! The only time I have had anywhere near that number was of course, Grigori and the online Ur_Dragon. I was whooping a cackling like a mad woman....my husband was being such a good sport about it (considering how obnoxious I got). :D

Don't know if you know this but:

Your equipment has better chance of being dragonforged based its enhancement level.

Fighting basic drakes/wyrms/wyverns only results in something like a 20% chance of equipment dragonforging (I don't know if that 20% chance is with 3-star equipment, I think it is). Once you get into BBI, the cursed dragons have a much higher chance of dragonforging, no matter how upgraded your stuff is to begin with. I don't even think they need to be 1-star, although I'm sure it's an even higher chance with a 3-star. (possibly even 100%)

When the Dark Bishop/Cursed Dragon respawns in the forgotten cathedral, I usually switch my arisen's vocation and outfit her with a bunch of new stuff to dragonforge. It seems like it takes forever for him to come back.

I don't see how Guardian is a hated inclination. If you have a low-hp arisen and get gulped by a maneater, if you have no guardians in your party, there's a good chance you'll have to say goodnight, at least in my experience. Guardians tend to stick close to you, others tend to wander about and not give a fudge, like this.

Instead of swiping once with his daggers, he's more likely to back the hell up and take out his bow, then use a charged shot. By the time he fires, I'm dead.

I'll still occasionally die on a maneater, specifically the one that spawns in a chest directly in front of you as you climb up from a leapworm-infested hall. I think it's in the Vault of Defiled Truth. I usually get there before the rest of my party, and I should know better, but I still open the chest. Nobody shows up to free me, and the analog stick-waggle isn't very effective, my hp is drained before i can fill the bar.

The Dark Bishop respawns every three or four days. I sleep through it in Cassardis.

Regarding Dragonforging, I had a bunch of new gear that I wanted to df, so I went to the Duskmoon Tower (post Daimon, obviously, as it's a safe zone before you beat him). When we first got there, we fought a Drake, and one piece got forged. Then I proceeded through one of the doors, then came right back out to find a Cursed Dragon. Fought him, and got two items forged. Then I dropped a rancid bait meat (didn't need to, but did it anyway), and spawned another Cursed Dragon. By the end of that, everything was forged.

It's actually kind of funny to watch them, or any carrion creature, snacking on the dead, before they realize you're there. Elder Ogres are the best. I wish I would have snapped a photo of the one whose dinner we interrupted.

Oh, and Death still isn't dead yet. Down to one health bar. That wiki advice about using Magickal Gleam is kind of b.s. I used Ricochet Bolt yesterday, with the same, if not better result.

I tweaked Gabby's face and hair again, and I think I'm finally happy with how she looks. She looks like my Arisen's twin.

Uhh... where do you go to get all that DLC armor in Dark Arisen? I heard it's supposed to be in the storage at the inn but when I go there it's empty.

You actually have to buy it at the Black Cat. If you mean the Bitterblack Armor Pack, I don't know, but I assume it's the same.

Did you buy all of the Dark Arisen DLC armors? They should be in your storage inventory. You might want to check to see if any of them are gender-specific. I'm not sure if they would be, but I think I did notice pieces for each gender when I bought them. Most should be available for either (all, if I'm wrong).

If you talk to Asalam, and go to Change Equipment, they should be the last items in each armor type (at the bottom).

It could also be that the vocation you're playing as can't use some of them.

Let us know which DLC you got; we can look it up for you. Otherwise, you can look for yourself on the DD wiki. I'm iPad stupid, otherwise I'd attach the link for you...

Shep is right; regular DLC armors have to be bought, but I think DA DLC armors will be in your storage.

Edit: I just thought of something - did you quit to the main menu and reload after you bought them?

Let's start again. :)

If you mean the free stuff that comes with Dark Arisen, which is all the vanilla game DLC, it must be bought at the Black Cat in Gran Soren near Madeleine's shop.

According to the wiki, the Bitterblack Armor pack (the new DLC, which isn't free) is indeed the same, the items must be purchased from the Black Cat. The DLC just "unlocks" them.

Edit: actually, reading the description again suggests you get one of each piece free, so they would be in your storage.

The other packs, which appear to be just a ring and a liftstone each, should also show up in your storage.

Okay, guys, got it :wizard: I will remove Shield Bash and switch Arya to Scather/Guardian (what she was before). I did notice that she often runs back to help me, say if I run out of stamina, or if I'm being attacked. I like that about her; she's very dedicated to her master xD

And yeah, I figured out you need to have an item 3 stars leveled up before you can have the 20% chance of dragonforging it. I also recently learned about luring Big Bads with rancid meat; not sure how to get rancid meat just yet, though I suspect it occurs when you kill a cow and keep the meat in your inventory, correct? (Until it goes bad, I mean.)

I am one mark away from maxing out Sorcerer for my Arisen; <_< my god I'll be so glad when that's over and done with. I am a rogue/archer player at heart and really despise playing mage characters. I might try out the Assassin tree after this though!

I wish fighters would wear their shields on their backs. Arya always looks dumb with her shield just sticking off her arm like that LOL Yeah, it's the little things that get to me....

Rancid Bait Meat is a BBI drop, it's different from all those other types of meat.

And it never works for me. Ever. :(

^ It only worked for me at Duskmoon Tower. It hasn't worked anywhere else for me, either.

Regarding armor DLCs, it's easy to get confused, isn't it? When I got DA, I got the free stuff from having an existing game, so there was that. Then, the Black Cat inventory was updated with the vanilla DD DLC stuff that you had to buy. Then I bought the BBI stuff...in the meantime, had started a brand new character, and was bouncing back and forth between them. Talk about confusing. It was hard to keep track of what I did, and what I had in each playthrough. I finally just had to pick one, and go with it.

But anyway, when you buy DA armor packs with ms points, you do have to quit to the main menu for them to show up. I hope all this has helped. :P

Save the game, godsbane then reload and drop the meat. It won't work if a corpse feeder has already shown up, but that should reset the area.

Is it an instant thing? Like when you drop the meat, a carrion feeder shows up? Or do you have to wait around?

^ What she said.
As long as I find saurians in the first room, I can force Death to show up and kill him in one attempt.

Ah. Well, I dropped like two or three in one of the big courtyard-ish rooms after killing the gorechimera and got squat.

In fact, carrion feeders have been showing up a lot less for me in BBI. I don't know if I like that or not. I don't need XP anymore, but a few cursed dragons here and there wouldn't be frowned upon.

Less strigoi, more cursed dragons. That would be nice.

I'm finally back and able to play the game!

So how has Woolie been doing? Are there any changes you guys would recommend for him to improve his performance?

oknenah, What's your GT? I will add you as friend ^^

FYI Guys, I started a new game (Not NG+) today so if you say an unfamiliar SUPER LOW LEVEL pawn walking around, that's my guy lol Ignore him for now (he's worthless until I can get more experience) and wait for Arya to return. I'm switching between them, back and forth. About to save this game actually and switch to Dai/Arya game.

We need to see about getting him some better armor. ;) I didn't have much to give him, aside from that ring with possession resistance, which helped.  He was fine, but the poor guy died a lot. Have you gone through BBI much in your run?

I'll recruit him, once I get back to a rift stone.

I just went through the murder version of the Forgotten City, phew. I think I'm going to see about Daimon. I need to get over this hump.
