@Shepen - Woops. Sorry bout that...unintended gloating I guess. XD

I currently have three Lv. 3 armors:
Gauntlet of Shadows
Grave Claws
Hellfire Greaves (dropped by the first encounter, for me so far, with Daimon)

I have a Lv.3 Weapon courtesy of Carcharoth: Sanguine Stalk (Archistaff)

As for Lv. 2 stuff, I only have one piece of the Trophy set (the arms)....I don't seem to have good luck for those. But I have two sets of the Immortal gear (minus the helm), and Adept Robes coming out my arse. >.<

Last night I ended up going toe to toe with 4 different dragon types (including a Cursed dragon), at the Duskmoon Tower. @happy wasn't whistlin' Dixie regarding the respawning in there. In fact the cursed dragon showed up, right after I polished off a Firedrake (not the best timing....could have really stood to have a few more healing items, and periapts). Ended up with the Marshal Bracers, the Grave Claws, Delta Guard, Trophy Guantlets, and something else that I'm forgetting, Dragonforged.

@motomoto - nothing wrong with stomping around Gransys and the Everfall for a bit, but I admit, BBI is becoming addictive. I did bring Arya in to BBI the first I picked her up. She did good. :D BTW, I had gifted your new pawn Seel some equipment a few days back, when you were playing around with him, but I wonder if you got the equipment. It sounds like you haven't received anything for him.....hmmmmm.

Ohhh...and I realized late last night, that I haven't hired Thomas in a while. Will do that either later tonight or tomorrow. Somebody is making me work. <bastarts>

Hooray! Works like a charm, doesn't it? I've started gearing up in my non-df stuff, and heading to Duskmoon Tower. More often than not, you'll have everything forged within minutes. And if once doesn't do it, go through a door, and come right back, and you'll get another chance. Heh.

My husband commented last night on how quickly I'm able to kill dragons in BBI now. The first Cursed Dragon I fought was in the Midnight Helix, and I was the biggest chicken you've ever seen. I hid in that side room on the ground floor, by the chest, and sniped. It literally took an hour to kill him. An hour! Now it takes me just a couple of minutes. I think they might actually be the easiest dragon type to kill (well, for me).

OH! ^////^ No it's just that I haven't "slept" because I'm embarrassed at how low level he is, and that I can't send gifts back with you guys' pawns :pinched: God I'm stupid!! But oh man I can't wait to see!!!!!! I will check when next I play him and Rohan (new Arisen). But tonight I think it's Arya's turn! :D

LOL motomoto.....no worries. None of the stuff I sent is very high level...probably two or three steps above what he was already wearing. I wasn't sure if you wanted him OP'ed or not. hehe! If you want Everfall gear for him, let me know. I am happy to give you some. :D

@happy - ya know, I kind of feel that way about Cursed dragons as well. It may be that since they don't "do" much you can easily go to town on them. They seem to be more primal/instinctive creatures, rather than thinking beasts. *shrug* Or maybe I am over-analyzing this material. >.> XD

I'm curious - how many sets of Trophy Armor do you guys have? I already have two complete sets. I kinda thought that armor was going to be special, but apparently, not so much.

2 bracers, 4 jackets and one set of boots. The boots were a quest reward, as was one of the bracers. And one of the jackets was in a moonbeam gem room. I usually get Sovereign's Mantles from Level 2 arm.....

...huh. Yeah, something's definitely screwy with my list. Someone switched it to "Cloak" then broke the lever.

Just gave MA another shot and I'm loving it quite a bit. I noticed I had 2 rings for the MA that upgrade Sixfold bolt, Explosive Rivet, Shadowshackle, and Immolation so I figured I might as well try them out.

Also tried out Ricochet Hunter and it is pretty darn good.

I dropped Death's health faster with MA than with any class I have used against him before.

We all come back to Magick Archer's loving embrace at one point it another. It's just that awesome. <3

With Death, MA+ Ricochet Hunter makes it feel pretty easy. I'm just happy that I finally figured out that he's attracted to light. I did a little test a few days back, and dang near every time, the pawns that didn't have a lantern didn't become scythe fodder. So I quit giving them any, aside from Gabs. She still gets killed, but I like the extra light, and I can get her back easily, without having to actually go into the rift.

Speaking of which, it's time to play, methinks.

@Shep- you crack me up.

I told 'em, nope, gotta get this trash dragonforged first. Gabs started crying on Shinon's shoulder and Chase godsbaned himself.

A typical night in Bitterblack Isle.

Oh, and I killed Daimon, got Boots of Shadow and a Hellfire Cloak. Things are back to normal. I'd gotten Carrion Greaves along with those Shadow Gauntlets, so I was overdue for some repeats.

I have been jumping into the clown car with you, @Shepenwepet....also trying to get things dragonforged, so wearing many odd pairings. Don't tell me dresses made with bones and giant hats clash.... >.>

If I wasn't allergic to FB, I would share screenshots. Bah......I might just bite the bullet and set it up. But not right now......busy. Gonna Godsbane in the Midnight Helix. ;)

'Go to the Midnight Helix', I heard, so I did. Fought no less than a dozen Strigoi, and a Frost Wyrm that took forever to kill. Ah, well, I Godsbaned afterwards, and ended up with another Grave Mantle, more Gauntlets of Shadow, and more duplicate staves.

So, I committed suicide, and switched vocation to Fighter, and ended up with a Twinpaler, the same staves, a Grave Mantle (that didn't change with the vocation change), and Sinner's Gauntlets. I decided to keep it all, as I didn't have any of the Blasphemer set. I probably could have switched up Gabs to red, too, but I'm lazy.

At least I got a new material from the Strigoi. I was beginning to think that they never drop anything.

@Shep - nice outfit. :D I have more of those hideous mantles than I could shake a stick at. Also, I'm surprised you haven't bought any silver glasses from that Johnathan in the encampment. Stylish! Although they don't add much, stat-wise.

I love that Chase is like, Maybe it looks better from this angle... NOPE. STILL HIDEOUS.

Killed another drake, nothing dragonforged. Hunted down a wyvern spawn point, me and the pawns waved our hands at the wyvern for a good fifteen minutes before the stupid thing decide to attack. I get all excited, then it suddenly disappears off the map, no explanation given. FML.

I just got through killing the awakened form of Daimon. That was a pain in the butt. During the first attempt I blew through all of my stamina curatives and just sat there for 20 minutes trying to do some damage to him but I only got off 1/4 of a health bar.

I had to liftstone out and pick up some Demon's Periapts so that I could actually make a scratch on him. Then I ran back through all the mobs to get back down there and I whooped his butt.

Is there something about BBI that makes pawns suicide more often?

Yesterday I got up my courage and dove into BBI and made it through quite a few levels with Gabs, Briana and my pawn. Poor Briana was working so hard and kept taking major hits to her health and I was running low on potions, so I ran back to the house/rest place through the little hole in the wall (can't remember the names of the different areas, sorry)! to catch a breather and then repaired a rift stone and traded Briana for Shinon for a bit. The first thing he did was fight Quintin and Gabrielle for all the ore... LOL, I love giving every pawn a pickaxe and watching them race. :P Anyway, I guess Quintin was trying to show off as he attacked everything in site like a crazed animal, and then randomly jumped off a walkway to his death and was soon followed by Shinon. Then Gabs got grabbed by a siren and she was gone. I was so lonely and scared there in the dark places. :crying:

Earlier we tried to kill that giant chained (gorecyclops?) thing in the tower, but even with two high-level pawns, we only managed to get one of his life bars whittled down. I just gave up and ran past him and killed the other baddies and emptied the chests of loot and got the heck out. I got one key to open up the new section where all the pawns died, and I got one moonstone orb and opened one of the doors in the garden and got a trophy jacket. :o I was pretty proud of my crappy pawn and my crappy Arisen for staying alive...mostly.

*sigh* Please tell me there will be a time when things are easier and gold will be plentiful. I'm always broke trying to improve armor and feel bad when I can't send any gifts with the pawns.

Also, I tried to send golden eggs as a thanks to a few of the pawns because it at least sounds nice (that's all that snotty little girl gave me instead of the idol, grrrrr) but then it occured to me.. Do those rot if you don't preserve them first? If so, I'M SO SORRY IF I SENT ANYONE A ROTTEN EGG, I SWEAR I DIDN'T MEAN IT!!!!!! :crying: I wish I had something anyone needed, but unless you want Gransys herbs, or something equally common...yeah, I got nothing. I'm still so grateful for the awesome armor and weapons you guys gifted to Quintin. <3 I feel like a bad mom Arisen when he isn't using the best armor and weapons I can get for him.

A couple more poor quality photos to share:

Gabs and Quintin celebrating a victory, while Shinon keeps telling them it was barely worth the effort. :P
Image IPB

Quintin proudly showing off his Trophy Jacket and makeover (with the logo over his face lol) but Shinon remains unimpressed.

I'm still grinding away in the mid 50's, but dang it takes a looong time to get high level, eh? :? Anyway, once more unto the breach tomorrow, and I'm taking Thomas out for a spin along with Gabs. It'll be a magic party!

For anyone who hasn't friended me yet, please do! Gamertag: Bekkael :)

@Bekkael I know how you feel. I am still in the early 50s. It is taking ages to level up!

Re pics above, those are some rather fetching outfits :-D Didn't know you could dress up as a nun!

Also big thanks for the items given to Thomas over the past few days.

I am really enjoying the Everfall but some of the bosses are tough. I mean in the Chamber of Estrangement you fight a golem on the way in and a tougher golem on the way out. Took me ages! The Wyrm was a piece of cake compared to those golems!

I think I will take out Quintin and Chase later on and switch Arisen's vocation. Need to go through the Stats page that Happy_daiz linked methinks.

Lots of catching up to do here...

The only status update I've had this year was to tell people to google image search "atari breakout." I'm not a big FB user myself, but it has certainly come in handy for DD.
happy_daiz wrote...

I also suffer from the "well, I'm red, that's enough" laziness. It's just... you have to go put everyone's stuff back on... ugh. I'll take the coat of shadow. I still only have the betrayer's greaves because of this.

Also, being lazy, I hate the fact that you have to keep re-enabling your lantern after every vocation swap.
Also, I'm surprised you haven't bought any silver glasses from that Johnathan in the encampment.
Well, there's an excuse to go back there and badger Ser Abell. The day finds me well, thanks, but please ask me again in about two seconds!

Just so you know, the only time anything of mine dragonforged in the main game was after the battle with The Dragon, after which everything you are currently equipped with is guaranteed to be. You're better off waiting until BBI, rather than hunting down drakes and wyverns which will only give you a 20% chance at best.

High five! That's... that's still a thing, right?
Bekkael wrote...

Yep. Death and bridges. They'll run towards Death as he's in mid-swipe, and nobody installed safety railings on BBI's bridges.
Anyway, I guess Quintin was trying to show off as he attacked everything in site like a crazed animal, and then randomly jumped off a walkway to his death and was soon followed by Shinon.
Shinon is good at following people to their deaths, I'll give him that.
*sigh* Please tell me there will be a time when things are easier and gold will be plentiful.
There will be a time when things are easier and gold will be plentiful. If I could gift gold, I would. I don't need it.
I'M SO SORRY IF I SENT ANYONE A ROTTEN EGG, I SWEAR I DIDN'T MEAN IT!!!!!!
I don't think things go rotten in storage. If you sent a golden egg, it will show up as a golden egg, and go directly to storage. Stuff only rots when it's in your inventory.
Gabs and Quintin celebrating a victory, while Shinon keeps telling them it was barely worth the effort.*snip pic*
He's been getting into the habit lately of saying "Tis not worth the time!" (i'd never heard that until recently) and not even bothering to attack. It usually happens in BBI's first room, the Garden of Ignominy, when it's saurians. He's right, though. One ricochet hunter will clear the room.
I'm still grinding away in the mid 50's, but dang it takes a looong time to get high level, eh?
In the main game, yes. In BBI, multiple levels in one sitting. I'll send you and Newschmoo some EXP boosters the next time I'm on. I think I have some.
Didn't know you could dress up as a nun!
It's part of the Gransys Armor pack, which comes with Dark Arisen for free if you have the original DD. If not, they're available from the Black Cat.

I wish the outfits had better stats. I realize they're just... well, clothes, and not much for protection, but... c'mon. At the very least, let me wear a hat with madeleine's outfit.

My next outfit will be extra hideous, just for you. I may have to start dipping into red vocations, as I'm running out of stuff to dragonforge.

Leveling is MUCH faster in BBI. I usually go up at least 2-3 levels, in even just a short sitting. It seems painfully slow everywhere else, including post-game Everfall.

@Bekkael - I finally got back to the rift last night, to release a couple of pawns, and saw that you switched up Quintin. I'll have to try him out, as I seem to have a definite preference for archers.

Here's that Grave Armor I got last night...oh look, we're twinkies.

What are you spending your money on, if I might ask?

If you're short on cash, I'd recommend doing some grinding in BBI. It's pretty overwhelming at first, but you can come and go at will, so you can ease yourself into it, somewhat. There are lots of side passages full of loot, that you need to keep an eye on your map for, but they always contain gold, chests, etc.

Once you start collecting cursed gear and purifying it, you can sell off any duplicates, or items you don't want for cash (since you can't gift BBI purified stuff). I usually make about $5 million+ every time I clean house in my inventory. If I didn't bother to rarify and forge stuff, I'd be very wealthy, indeed.

@happy I only spend money on upgrading gear, and gear I get from BBI is really expensive to upgrade for me. The other day when I spent hours in BBI and got lots of good loot and leveled up lots of times I got 2 pairs of Assault Boots. They were much better than anything else I had, stats-wise, so I put them on myself and Quintin. Only 1 starred Quintin's and 2 starred mine and I was nearly broke. I have what I need to 3 star them now, but it's 345,000 gold, and I currently have around 500,000. I know I just need to be more patient, but it's so hard when there are shinies to be had. :D

The only other time I spend gold is for an occasional makeover, and due to my extreme impatience with night in this game, resting at an inn to make it day again but I do go to Cassardis where it is cheapest or rest in BBI.

I made it to the Black Abbey the other day. Is that very far in? I swear I get so twisted around trying to remember where I came from. I'm finding BBI is like crack....I just want more and more and more. It's the only place in the game (so far) that I have ever had to use items and healing stuff. It's a good thing I never sell any curatives.

I wish there was a way you could give pawns potions (like open their mouths and pour it in). I give Quintin all kinds of stuff to heal himself with and he only occasionally uses greenwarish/kingwarish and ignores harspud sauces and all the rest. I had to revive him in a fight with an elder ogre 4 times yesterday. >_< I keep hoping he will learn from the other smart pawns, but alas, not yet.

I will add Bekkael next time I'm on. And I think... *squirms uncomfortably* I will try BBI with Dai and Arya next time I play them. I'm scared... so very, very scared. We're also at level 55-ish. So, yeah. But I'm also down to 100K gold. I three-starred something that I swear cost several thousand gold without realizing it. Maybe I should sell some of these wakestones...

Still can't decide if I should finish the game or go to BBI. I don't know... I think I might head to BBI first because if I start NG+ I'll be in the same spot as my other new game. Maybe with my new game I'll play through the whole thing, right and proper.

Bah, I just know I'm not as good at this kind of thing as you guys are (play on Hard mode?? Are you kidding me?!) so I'm scared to enter BBI!!!
