As the title suggests are Dex based Tanks specifically Dagger&Shield Tanks viable in Awakening and Beyond?
I just picked up Awakening and want to play this build in the expansion.  I have the Prepatch Blood Dragon Armor (although I'm told It doesn't import:unsure:), 31 Strength, with +9 Strength available via rings etc, the remainder have been put into Dex.  My other equipment, is Lifegiver, Ring of Ages, Blood Gorged Amulet, Andruils Blessing, Duncan's Dagger(chosen for Dex bonus), Dwenmers in all slots for Spell Resisitence, I chose Champion to buff party and Reaver to help hold threat.  I want to chose guardian as well but I'm unsure that only 15-(+25 Constitution) from items which may be reduced anyway based on not being able to carry Blood Dragon armor forward will be enough to run guardian sustainables.

Any suggestions on incorporating guardian?

Have been playing through Awakenings, I have been allocating point towards strength to get Sentinel Armor but there are no strength requirements for the beginning GW Armor, so should I just reallocate points to DEX? The only problem with this are the talents in the new shield tree.

Edit: Listed Guardian as having Strength requirements but its the new sheild talents that have strength requirements

I don't think that guardian is worth it if your dex tank works well.

You're right Guardian isn't worth it, I'm simply throwing a few points in strength to wear the Sentinel Armor but TBH Awakenings is really easy Soloing on Nightmare. Actually Origins was easy after level 14 and other than the Arch Demon I rarely had to reload.
In awakenings I don't get hit and I can use Ice bombs, war cry, and other talents to manage mages.

Are there any Talents I have to have in awakenings?

The weapon&shield talent carapace is very powerful. The normal version reduces damage, based on your CON. Not that great on a dex tank, but not entirely neglectable. However, with the upgrade talent Bulwark of the Ages it negates damage completly for some time. Nice to have if you think something might get around your defense.

It's true - sadly, Awakenings is stupid-easy on Nightmare (well, for the most part anyways). I haven't spent a lot of time on this, but I am sure someone must have created a patch that removes the level caps on areas and enemies to make it a bit more challenging.
