Up until MoA the Tal Vashoth we encounter are generally bandits/outlaws so would attack your party like any other travellers they hope to rob.  However, the ones we encounter in the Duke's grounds are part of an official group with Salit.  Since they were on their way to the meeting, it is hardly likely they know in advance of a potentially hostile group in the neighbourhood, so we could just as likely have been some of the Duke's followers.  So was the reason they attacked immediately they saw us because they recognised Tallis?

I was rather hoping that in the future we might be allowed to help Tal Vashoth rather than kill them.   I suppose they might be one of the groups that we potentially recruit in DA3.  I would certainly like to have a Kossith Tal Vashoth party member.

meet Maraas, the best Tal-Vashoth out there. I predict that he will become a companion in the future to give us a perspective on how the Tal-Vashoth think.

Also, most Tal-Vashoth are violent because they cling to the honor they held under the Qun. Others are violent against the Qunari because they enjoy terrorizing them and making them live in fear.

It depends on the nature of the Tal-Vashoth, but I do want to meet more like Maraas who are honorable. I also want to meet a female horned Kossith who turned Tal-Vashoth to prove to the Qunari and to herself that she can indeed be a soldier and still be a woman.

Tal'vashoth don't really have any unifying features except they rejected the Qun through violence. Most of them formed bands of raiders. There isn't really any unifying Tal'vashoth organization for example. But individuals will sometimes act for their own reasons sometimes like Marass or Armas. So the perspective of one might not be the same perspective as another.
