What!? You (of all people) didn't play this game? I am disappointed, Dragoonlordz.Dragoonlordz wrote...
After you hit 30 you then begin to regress back to childhood before going *plop* out of existance. As for real answer wish I could help but shamefully I have to admit I have yet to buy a copy, promise though it is on my to buy list someday...

Got too many games want at the moment, so I keep pushing it back in priority.
Speaking of GoG they just mailed me to say got Broken Sword special on atm. Woohoo I think I'll pick those up got 3rd one but don't have the other two yet and only $5.98 for both... Thats erm £3.82, sounds cheap enough for this guy. I'll pick those up instead of NWN2. Still got to decide if want to buy Disciples 3 or HoM6 though tonight... Life is hard, so many choices my little brain cannot cope!

To those in the know... What is the average level one can reach in SoZ?

The game is huge, DL. Bought it with the 2 expansions on Steam. Not sure if it was on sale, but it is definitely worth buying it.

If you do all the sidequests, you will normally finish mid-19. With just a little farming, 20 and even 21 are doable. After that, no real experience points are available.

I initially rushed through and tried fighting the end boss at around level 12. Big mistake. Admittedly I was playing as a yuan-ti pureblood, so I had a level adjustment of +2 to contend with.

But yes, once you finish the official campaigns, there's tons of quality community played modules, and persistent worlds (think mini-MMO where you know everyone, and there are often live GM's doing events)

I solo'ed and hit level 23 if I recall correctly. You get gobs of XP if you go solo. All the xp actually gets sort of silly, and you level up to the point where everything is a cakewalk so you may want to take some companions along.

Awesome!
That should be the first order of business if we get the source code.

Just finished MotB at level 30 (Cleric at 15, Warpriest at 10 and Neverwinter Nine at 5). Starting a new game still allows you to import your MotB character (which of course you need to export). Unlike in MotB the imported character has all the gear, gold and stuff in the inventory - including the special stuff you have been given in the end game. In the final cut scene of MotB this posibility is hinted at ("spend your earned gold" or something similar). It's even technically possible to play SoZ with several of the same or with different PCs as henchmen.AngryFrozenWater wrote...

So the question still remains: What happens with leveling after 30? The character screen still shows how many points are required for the next level. I think it is more fun to start a new character, though.
Edit: Removed spoilers.

That makes sense. Thanks.M. Rieder wrote...
I'm pretty sure nothing happens. You probably just keep accumulating HP. The engine does not have anything to support level 30+.
However, one poster stated that you will start with a new character. Which is true by default, but the same goes for MotB. By using export and import you can still continue with an older character. Nice feature, BTW. In my case not very fun, though.
I also like that you can create your followers. Very cool.

You'd be bringing a level 30 party into a module meant to start at level 4. It probably won't be very fun.AngryFrozenWater wrote...

Especially if you played as an evil character, and got the 'Spiritual Evisceration' feat at the end of MotB.
It's a pity you can't chunk creatures in the NWN games. Otherwise wading through a group of batiri with a +6 flaming adamantine katana could produce some pretty fireworks (or should that be meatworks?).
In the original Baldur's Gate, I have fond memories of watching Drizzt explode gnolls into clouds of meaty chunks with a single hit.

If you solo and exploit badly a certain very evil option you are proposed, it's possible to get near the level cap in SoZ without much grinding. Of course, you do become a bit overpowered even solo.
Yes, I heard of that, but never tried it... seemed too evil....

Or maybe just that your level up bar will not move as you won't be able to earn more xp...
You can chunk creatures in NWN1. Set the violence to total in the options. Not very realistic but still fun with the red mist.

I started SoZ with a new character, BTW. As a rogue. Seems more fun that way.

More info, downloadable files and the rest are at Never Launcher Prototype. To get this working you only need the xp_fix plugin to be placed in your NWNx folder.
Note that this does not affect the max experience or max level campaign settings, which by default are kept at 30 at the most, and the max level ini setting for a PW.
( from my testing there is no way to get past level 30 without adjusting the game executable )
