I just finished the Underdark and recruited Valygar for the first time. The problem is that my main character is Level 17 and Valygar is Level 10.

Will Valygar catch up before the final battle? And about how many levels will he lag behind?
I have some sidequests left to do also.

I am thinking of reloading a save before Chapter 4, to recruit him, but hesitate.

For beating the final boss for SoA I don't believe Valygar's lagging behind would be much of a problem (e.g., give Valygar Celestial Fury and when the final boss gets breached he will feel some pain, level 10 or no). Also, if you continue to throne of bhaal, if he lagged too far behind they would give him some levels automatically when ToB starts. I've recruited Mazzy real late one time and she got 4 levels when I started ToB.
