I don't know if entire threads dedicated to one player's playthrough are allowed here on these forums, but I've seen posts about them - if this thread isn't warranted on its own, then Mods, feel free to move it, just don't delete it. :)Anyway, as I was saying...

I just beat Mass Effect 2 for the first time yesterday, and as I was discussing the events of the final mission and the choices I made with my real life Mass Effect fanatic (seriously, he's like Bioware's biggest fanboy) I noticed a trend in what I did throughout the game. This trend came up as I was discussing "who catches who" in the final moments of the Suicide Mission. I had Jack and Legion with me when I fought the final boss, both were loyal, and I had the romance with Jack...

So when the final boss got sniper'd by yours truly (I lurve Assassination Cloak ) and the platform was falling apart, it was Shepard who caught Jack. Now, this part was cool enough, Shepard making a daring attempt to rescue his lover. But then, as Shepard was making the final run for the ship, it was Legion who caught him. And I thought the cutscene for that was cool too, as Legion fulfills his Schwarzenegger (sp?) role, extending his hand to Shepard in his "come with me if you want to live" moment.

It was then that I thought...how else was my playthrough of ME2 like the Terminator storyline? It could be said that Jack is akin to Sarah Connor, a strong woman who puts up a butch face to protect herself (and which proves to be quite necessary), but has a softer, caring side deep within. We also all know that the final boss looks a lot like a Terminator.

Here are some of the decisions I've made:
-Blew up the heretic Geth collective in Legion's loyalty mission
-Killed the Rachni queen in ME1
-Preserved the krogan genophage research in Mordin's loyalty mission
-Didn't recruit Tali in ME2 (figured I didn't want her freaking out at Legion and EDI)
-Romanced Ashley in ME1 (hey, I like strong women...)
-Recruited Kasumi, she died (blown up after EDI said my shields sucked)

I'm not sure how many of those decisions make my playthrough more like the Terminator storyline, but I think my decisions still carry some of the themes of what the main characters did in the Terminator movies.

Sorry for the wall of text. But for the TL;DR version, I'll just ask this question: how many of you have tried to make your ME playthroughs like your favorite action movies?

I didn't recreate any action movies, or anything like that, but you seem like the type that would be interested to know that my Shep starts ME1 as a supremely racist dude, but also has strong notions about justice (specifically, an obsession with retributive justice), and personally carrying it out. So over the course of ME1 he and Garrus somehow become buddies. Then in ME2 he finds out Garrus basically became The Punisher, so yeah, they're best friends now. Then I took Garrus to the final battle, and it was him that almost fell, and Shepard saved him. It was pretty awesome.
