I just beat Mass Effect 2 for the first time yesterday, and as I was discussing the events of the final mission and the choices I made with my real life Mass Effect fanatic (seriously, he's like Bioware's biggest fanboy) I noticed a trend in what I did throughout the game. This trend came up as I was discussing "who catches who" in the final moments of the Suicide Mission. I had Jack and Legion with me when I fought the final boss, both were loyal, and I had the romance with Jack...
So when the final boss got sniper'd by yours truly (I lurve Assassination Cloak
It was then that I thought...how else was my playthrough of ME2 like the Terminator storyline? It could be said that Jack is akin to Sarah Connor, a strong woman who puts up a butch face to protect herself (and which proves to be quite necessary), but has a softer, caring side deep within. We also all know that the final boss looks a lot like a Terminator.
Here are some of the decisions I've made:
-Blew up the heretic Geth collective in Legion's loyalty mission
-Killed the Rachni queen in ME1
-Preserved the krogan genophage research in Mordin's loyalty mission
-Didn't recruit Tali in ME2 (figured I didn't want her freaking out at Legion and EDI)
-Romanced Ashley in ME1 (hey, I like strong women...)
-Recruited Kasumi, she died (blown up after EDI said my shields sucked)
I'm not sure how many of those decisions make my playthrough more like the Terminator storyline, but I think my decisions still carry some of the themes of what the main characters did in the Terminator movies.
Sorry for the wall of text.
