it seems that there is very limited chance to make human females look good unless they are one of the premade ones, I found the dwarfs to be the easiest and prettiest which is just weird lol, im sure if I experiment a bit more it will seem better but i think it hs to do with the lack of options in the hair and eye sliders.

I love the CC, although I am a bit disappointed by the lack of hair styles. I'd hoped for a bit more variety. But at least I can create good-looking characters on this one.

I didn't read through all of the previous 10 pages before posting, so this may have already been mentioned many, many times, in which case I encourage all and sundry to ignore me and move on, but it bugs me a little that you can't choose your starting skills, or at least talents. I understand the concept of them being determined by character background. It's a cute idea, and after a few levels, it probably won't matter much. It does make the start-up that much quicker. Still, I'd really like to be able to choose my own abilities.

While it may be the case that every character of a certain background would have a particular skill, I don't see the logic, either in terms of numbercrunching and tactics or as regards roleplay, for dictating that, say, all Dwarf Commoner Warriors will be trained in fighting with two weapons. Sure, I can see a thug fighting with two weapons. But wouldn't your typical musclebound brute just use one really big weapon? Shields might get a little expensive, but are you seriously telling me that it is inconceivable for a few thugs to have crossbows? And as far as skills, sure they'd pretty much have to have a point in combat training as a warrior, but why stealing? Mightn't the aforementioned musclebound bruit be more likely to have a point in coercion, or the crossbowman in poisons, traps, or combat tactics?

While we're at it, this is a much lower priority complaint, but it'd be kind of nice to have more control over our starting ability scores; perhaps starting from a lower base but giving more points, although such a strategy would probably require a cap on how high you could raise a score. Not really sure how much this matters, though, since I'm not sure how much of a difference each point makes.

From what I gather, there is two more talent points you start with, not included in the editor. So you can customize your character's skills from there. But I agree, I prefer my character to start with a clean slate of talents that I can customize as I see fit. As for attributes, I don't mind that so much since it has to go with that character's chosen class. You will have plenty of time to customize that in the game with the abundance of stat points.

I've always had fun with the number crunching, but like I'll concede that ability scores are more or less fine as they are. If nothing else, keeps you from making a character with certain ability scores only to discover later that you wish you had made them entirely other, particularly if, as is the case in Journeys, you get 4 points every level.

Heh. Just realized I mispelled brute in the above post. Ah well.

Not quite sure where that "like I'll" came from either. Huh. Suppose skipping breakfast'll do that to you.

I would have preferred more hair/beard styles. Or being able to adjust your cheeks/jaw while having a beard and not having it reset and bug out your face.

More eyes too, maybe some different lips and more brow control(ability to make my guys look angry or what have you).

It also resets the voice whenever I got to edit a character... Im not sure if its just defaulting when you start up the editing or its not being saved altogether.

I'm a fan. I hope the in-game creator will have better atmosphere though. I can't wait!

The lack of good hairstyles was a bit disappointing. I also didn't care for the proportions of the character models, especially from the waist down.

Aside from that, it's good to be able to see the talents and skills.

Its pretty good, but its also limiting as well like:

*Hairstyles

*Tattoos

*Eye Colors

But I'm sure it can be added in by the toolset.

I was quite happy with the character creator. However, the poor lighting, lack of a zoom feature, and music made it somewhat irritating. Plus, the hairstyle options are quite...bland. You got Long Hair Swoop A, Long Hair Swoop B, and Long Hair Tail A, etc.

The hair options were also like...hm...blocky? I wanted my elven rogue to have his hair pulled back into a tight ponytail, but I get a puffy, blocky mess. The graphics are great and all, but I don't like the shapes of the hair, if that makes sense.

Another problem I'm having is the lack of full body customization. Why does my head have to be the size of a damn canoe? My Mage has hands the size of boulders. Also, why can't we change last names? Weird.

Because its hard coded for the dialogue ingame.

Puzzled as to why there is a clearly Asian Female preset and yet no Asian Male preset... Makes me go hmm, I wonder how there could be Asian Females in the game without their male counterpart... Makes creating a Asian Male so much harder =(

Ahhhh......

It's good to back on the BioWare forums......

My opinion on the character creator?  Well, let's put it this way--  after about 20 minutes, my wife walks in, does a double-take and says "Wow!  You put yourself in a game?  You even got your stupid smirk right!"

I think that about says it all.  :)

There's definitely an Asian male preset, I used it to make the character I use for my avatar.  You just missed it, somehow.  No idea how. It's near the middle.

Over all I am pretty happy with char. creator. However I was disappointed with limited options for particular customization.

I wanted to see: earrings, more tattoo shapes and colors, hats, scars, eye patches, things that would make a char a bit more unique and not just a face.

Eh, really? You thought that preset looked Asian? Looked dubious to me... My profile pic is the closest I could get to looking like me.. sigh gonna take a Mod to get released so i can really get myself into the game.

Will there be Mods I can use for my Xbox 360 version or are Mods only for the PC? Cause as I stated before, it would be nice it I could make a back guy instead of a Caucasian dude with a tan. No offense I'm half Caucasian myself but there is a difference between having a tan and being half black. Oh and hair too...

I believe the Mods are for PC only iirc.

When the characters lips move in the voice section, the teeth look absolutely disgusting, and it's only partly due to the poor lighting. I'm having a lot of fun with the character creator, but there are a lot of issues with it. I hope that the character creator in the full game will be more complete.

I love it , finally could make a good looking woman , I wish I could import her to Mass Effect 2. The only thing I dont like is when you want to use a beard for a man it disables the jaw/mouth etc. options , not all bearded man have huge lips.

Eh. I'm a D&D player, and I don't mold my own figurines. I'm happy if I have one in stock of the right race and hair color. The moldability in this thing is more than enough for me. Given this amount of customizability and the need I feel to make every slider exactly right, I'm actually a little glad there's not more options.

I think this is pretty much the most succesful character creation tool yet. I had problems with Mass Effect and I tried Oblivion once - I never did that again. I actually managed to make a really nice character in Fallout 3, but it's still so much easier with this one.

CC isn't perfect, the low amount of hairstyles was already mentioned, the facial hair choices are a bit limited and I feel the tattoos could have some more customization to them. I'm still a bit infatuated with it, because the sliders seem to work just the way I want them to, and there aren't too many of them. This means it doesn't take me a long time to make very nice looking characters. Most detailed creation tools hold me in their vice for 20 minutes at a time. CC doesn't.
