And it was pretty tough to make your Human Male character look mean. He looks more bored now.

But over all, very nice! I like reading over all the skills and got a kick out of making a dwarf. Would love a zoom function.

Though after a while I can't stop messing with the sliders and nothing looks quite right. Maybe that's just me -shrug-
Edit:
Forgot to mention how surprised I was when my PC's lips moved when testing out voices! That was a really nice touch.

Took me 5 minutes to download it and apart from a little driver updated I had to do to get rid of some graphical artifacts, everything's been running smoothly since then.
The various graphical settings are promising for low end, medium and top end computers.
The menus and overall interface are very nicely done.
The character creator itself is promising, lots of choices and I'm still going through them.
Gave me a good opportunity to check the various talents available and what they do.
Gave me the chance to finally get on the train regarding the community sites (discovering the toolset wiki while at it, yay!)
Overall: it's gonna be very long 3 weeks till November 3rd

I also agree with the lack music.
At the "Launcher menu" we have a great music introducing to the game but when we are creating our character there's nothing.
It should be the other way around because we only stop at "Launcher menu" for only 5 seconds and that way we would have something to inspire us when we are creating our character.
About the character creator, the things I want to mention are:
- In some of the preset faces I can't remove all of the stubble. I don't know if it's just me or if it's playing as intended.
- In my opinion, it's hard to pick colors for the eyes. Along with the sliders there should had been a brief description of what you are picking.
Other than that, I like it and can't wait to play the game.

As to the no music thing, I just went into the DA Character Creator folder, boot the launcher music from there, set it to repeat and run the creator

You'll be able to in the actual game. Skill-choosing has been disabled for the creator.ThePhantomTBag wrote...

I don't think they allow you to pick your skills with the creator. Most likely will get the choice with the full game though (I hope anyway).ThePhantomTBag wrote...
I wish they would give you a little more freedom in picking the skill you start off with, i want to be a human noble warrior, but don't want to be forced to have my one point in shield bash. I want double weapons from level 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little disappointed at the dearth of pinned back hairstyles for females (allowing one to avoid the dreaded hair helmet), but that's what the modding community will be for. And DA:O elves not being all cheekbones and huge eyes will take a little getting used to.
The thing that startled me, however, was the speaking animations. Characters' mouths seem to be assumed to be certain width where animations for lip movements are concerned, meaning my characters went from normal to WHOA! Y helo thar, frog person! when I was testing out the voice sets.
Also, is that Grey DeLisle doing some of the voicesets? Sweet!

My girl looks washed out from the rich browns she normally would have.
I have to wait for it to get uploaded before I can show you all what I mean.

Only problems were a shortage of beards and no music
apart from that it was great, and having it before the game meant that i had time to make a character that i really like without rushing to start playing
