No, I noticed that as well. It seems to be a recurring thing with pretty much any game you choose to name, however. Darker skin tones in particular don't seem to translate well from chargen to "reality" as it were. Oh well.Blessed Silence wrote...
I am a bit disappointed in the translation of character to avatar.<br />

Oh, and the 'violent' voice just sounds like a mildly depressed voice.

One thing that's really made me grimace though is the female body. Is it just my imagination, or does the lower back look really...unnatural? 0_o
P.s. I'm not whining for the sake of it. I'd really just like to know if I'm being picky here, or if others have thought the same

It's because your guy has a beard. You can't edit the jaw and mouth because there'd be clipping issues.Torrius wrote...
I liked the creator. I kinda wondered why the jawline and mouth sliders were greyed out? Is there a reason for that? Besides that, while I didn't mind the hairstyle choices, I kinda wished I could adjust the length of every hairstyle rather than choose between longer and shorter styles.

I *think* this has to do with beards. Some other people were complaining about the inability to adjust certain facial features when their character had a beard. If you removed the beard I would think it should become available.Torrius wrote...

1. Collarbones are supposed to be at the base of the neck, right below that leather collar... Not halfway down the chest.
2. Half of male elf eye options look like his eyeballs are going to fall out any minute - in a normal eye irises always touch one of the eyelids when a person looks straight forward.
3. There is one lips shape... Only one.
4. There is no separate eyebrows option, they change only with the eyes.
5. All the eyebrows look either crazey bushy, of plucked to death, even on males. I can't help imagining a thought warrior in full plate plucking his eyebrows now
6. We are creating a character in candle light, yet again. Go figure what his or her coloring will look like in a daylight.
7. Don't even start me on the hair.
8. Female mouth distorts horribly when she speaks, it's the same in game dialogs are going to make almost any female look like a troll.
Overall - there is no freedom to crate what I really want, not even close. It could have been worse, for sure, but it could have been much better, even Mass Effect had more options in a long run. Good thing we are getting a CS, I hope putting in custom modeled hair and head morphs is going to be easy.

things I miss: more hairstyle and the possibility to change the rest of the body (height, muscles etc)
oh and maybe the tatoo could be more intense and present in other part of the body^^

Thanks for all the great feedback on the CC. I can't wait to get home and put my own avatar up. Some of you said no music. Did the videos we say have music? Did they just cut that out for the demo? Can you do ststs too or does it stop after face creation? Thanks.
Whole creator, stats and all.
There is music in the opening...

However it just seems a bit too limited in many areas to me.
1. Hair color, where is blondoe? There's simply white, then different shades of Red, Brown, and black.
2. Stubble, why nothing that resembles a 12 o'clock shadow or something a bit more suave looking? Most of the "stubble" choices look a bit too much to me.
3. Eye color, maybe it's just hard to see but I can't even tell that much what colors there are, it all looks dark to me.
The main thing though that disappoints me is the Human originsl, you have to be a noble? Why isn't there another option for humans? A human noble rogue? Doesn't really gel together to me.

1) No music - know that this will be fixed in the actual game, but would have been nice here
2) Too dark. Very difficult to see what's going on from a lot of angles. a more representative lighting would have been nice. I understand that there is a desire to create atmosphere and not have the background take away from the character, but this still means that it's difficult to determine how the character will actually look normally.
However there are many positives. I'm very pleased at the options, and the ease with which you can make very professional looking, but highly individual characters is amazing. I really like how the voices give random phrases rather than cycle through them in a preset order, much more interesting and easier to get a general feel for the character of the voice. I'd ahve like more deeper male options, though. They generally sound a little light and high, particularly the Mystical and Wise. Experienced is very nice, though. Finally the ability to upload the character and use it's image for your avatar is a huge leap forwards for communication on the forums. You are at last able to easily represent yourself visually as an individual. Definitely looking forwards to the game even more now. So much it hurts :'(

It would be nice if you could alter the "highlights" of the hair, or have more than one color choice for the hair. In other words, a default grey haired character is really grey in the editor... you can't add a little bit of dark for more of a "salt and pepper" hair. Maybe a female character with dark hair but a "wisp" of another color like grey or blonde (or red or blue for that matter). Again it's not a big issue but it would be nice.
EDIT: Oh and other facial features other than tattoos (like adding a scar) would be cool!

Even a small one.
The beards are a tad disappointing, on the human male, but overall everything works fine, and I haven't made a definably -hideous- character just yet.
Yet.

- No background music. Yes, that would've been nice and added to the atmosphere.
- For females: on the Skin Complexion slider, I have no idea if it's supposed to be deliberate or what, but if you move it thrice to the right the character looks like she has very sunken / hollow eyes. I like the skin coloring, but around the eye area does look like someone punched her twice in the face. Ouch.
- Only one set option for mouth models.
- Ghastly 'lip flapping' motions whenever the character 'talks' under the Voice options.
- Would've liked to see a variety of outfits. Even one or two extra would be cool.
Otherwise, nice job Bioware.
