According to Liandra, they started rebuilding Lothering in Act 2...so around 3 years after the blight.
Seems like they kind of dropped the lore ball there!

Leandra comments in Act 1 that they are attempting to re-build Lothering. Then, at the beginning of Act 2, Hawke receives a letter from Elder Miriam stating that the re-building efforts failed because the land was too corrupted. Miriam herself re-located to Redcliffe.

You want every hero to be from a small, backwater country who's only notable trade seems to be large dogs? That's terrible.

It might be nice to back to Fereldan, didn't the devs highlight the south of Thedas as the stage for DA3 at NYC? That suggests we might end up back in the land of wet dog for a quest or three in DA3.

I'd prefer not to go back to Ferelden, but I'd like to see the Tevinter Imperium and Val Royeaux if just for a quest or two.

I would be alright if we returned to Ferelden, but I also want to go to other places we haven't been to.

Kal Shirok would be fun, especially if you get to choose your race again. I'd love to see the massive fecal tempest that would happen when your Orzammarian dwarf has to work with the dwarves of Kal Shirok.

Me too!  I want to know what 'questionable means' they've used to survive.

eta:  especially a dwarf noble.  "What?  Join us or die?  Who said that?  Noooo my daddy would never say anything like that...I swear."

I'd rather go somewhere new, like Antiva.

Thevinter or Orlais would rock. Orlais is beautiful and charming, Tevinter is intriguing.

I would definitely like to visit the Tevinter Imperium. I don't think Ferelden is all that interesting.

I want desperately to return to Ferelden. I came to care about the country and identify with being a Fereldan while playing the warden, and to a lesser extent, Hawke. I really care far more about what happens there than in the other countries. I at least want to start there and perhaps leave to go on a mission. Going elsewhere is fine, but I feel Fereldan through and through and would have some difficulty playing a character who doesn't, so I'd like that to be an option.

I would like to see a game set in a war, or amongst the political intrigue in the prelude to a war, between Orlais and Fereldan. And throw Orzamar into the mix.

Hear, Hear.
I feel Ferelden too :( I hope the PC will be a Ferelden - as you said, it'd be hard to identify with another nationality.

I have a gut feeling Ferelden will be pivotal in DA much like Tatooine is in the SW universe. No matter what is happening you always find something tied to it. Plus with Denerim believed to the the birthplace of Andraste it will be hard to ignore the country.

Honestly, there isn't much to Ferelden left to explore. We hit all the highlights.

This fascination with Ferelden, despite us having almost seen it all, is extremely odd. How entertaining would it be to walk through Denerim or Redcliffe again when we've got other locations? Not much, assuming you're not wearing nostalgic glasses.

I seriously hope that Fereldan won't be the home of our next protagonist. I don't like dogs, and we have seen all the interesting places in the country.

I think Tevinter would be interesting, especially with the gigantic war golems known as the Juggernauts, the dangerous political system, and the war with the Qunari. Maybe it would be interesting to see it through the POV of a Tevinter Magister.

It might be interesting to go back to Ferelden and previously visited places to see how they've changed over time.

Sort of like what was claimed would be the case with the 10 year time span in DA2.

Anyway, the main thing I'd want to see more of in Ferelden would be more about the Avvars and the Frostbacks and then more about the Korcari Wilds and the supposed frozen, uncharted territories south of there.
