How does everyone connect to the servers they play on?  Do you go through gamespy usually?  I use the NWNLauncher that I read about but it doesn't have any feature to support direct connecting.  Is there a command line for NWNLauncher that will direct connect?

With NWN1 I used to use a utility that let you enter 5 sites for direct connecting, including passwords if needed.  Is there anything like that for NWN2?

Gamespy is one option, but I've heard that it can cause a bit of lag. Not exactly sure if that's true, but it's simple enough to direct connect and takes less time if you know the server's IP address.

The direct connect option is on the Multi-Player option screen. Run the game in MP mode, select Multi-Player, login, then on the next screen you should see it near the bottom, if my memory is correct.

The -connect parameter to the short cut, or via command line was not implemented for NWN2, it exists in NWN1 however.

I am kind of hoping i can convince Skywing to add such a feature to his client extension at some point. ( mainly because his program is already modding NWN2 and it seems best positioned to do this )

Adding in the following options - which are similar to what is in NWN1 or the server

-connect [ipaddress:port] ( 127.0.0.1 would be used for local MP games )
-module [modulename]
-moduledir [moduledirname]
-savefile [savename] ( not sure on this one, same as for server )
-bic [character bic file] ( for supporting SP modules that are designed to be played by a specific character, and for testing, and character creation prior to joining the game )

Using these would bypass all game selection screens, using the bic option bypasses the character selection process unless the bic file name does not exist.

No idea how hard the above would be to hack in via dll's, but it would open up a lot of possibilities.
