For base-game banters, I'd say they were tied (though as Godwood said, DAO *did* have Sten). But I prefer DA2 overall. Hawke can join in, and the DLCs have added such priceless companion interaction. DA2 wins in the end for snark.

Origins was funnier imo.... the party banter felt more natural and less ''Ooooh, they liked that, let's cram some into DA II'', I liked the party banter in II, I just felt some of it was less funny and more... snippy...

Get Baldurs Gate 2, take İmoen, Korgan and Jan Jansen to your party.
Damn Jansen and his "short" funny stories.

Or just ask Minsc when you get him out of the prison "How he hid his hamster form your captors"

Mmm, DA2 also. Origins had some funny moments here and there, sure, but aside from the odd quip from Shale and a couple of Alistair moments, I don't remember ever really laughing at it. In contrast, parts of MotA in particular forced me to pause the game because I can't laugh and play at the same time.

Origins, humor in it was more fluent.

Origins, but not by far.

The problem with DA2 humour is that sometimes seems out of place. Sarcastic tone is welcomed, but has many bad lines. Origins had less joke-moments, but were presented better. Morrigan-Alistair banter beats any predictable "humour" from Isabela (I love the character, but sometimes is way too obvious)

I think Origins was a little better as far as build-up and presentation went, but only slightly. For instance the banter with Morrigan flirting with Sten it took three parts before the punchline. That kind of buildup was a nice change from the snappy one-liners that was prevalent in DA2. Where Origins had much more subtlety DA2 was more "in-your-face" with the humor. A lot would depend on the style you like as to which game had more humor.

I have to go with Origins.

Varric was great, so was Isabella. But as a whole I found the overall number of humorous characters and humorous party member combinations to just be greater in Origins.

DA2 just seemed more forced comedy to me as well. It didn't seem like natural funny moments, but rather like someone on a stage telling jokes.

Thats exactly how i felt with the comedy. Like with everythign else in DA2 they just try too hard and over the top

DA:O made me smile a few times. DA2 made me laugh. But while DA2 had a few lines that were comedy gold, it also had a few very bad ones. To be fair, Oghren isn't my kind of humour, so both games have some hit and miss.

Definitely Origins. Felt more natural, subtle and not as "forced" as DAII. Also, Oghren was awesome.

Both games made me smile, not laugh. For laughs - I play GTA or Multiplayer games + Skype :)

Overall, it's DA2 for me; although Origins had it's moments too.

DA2 for me.. and I just played MotA for the first time last night - the party was pretty funny as sarcastic femHawke. I love her. :D

I'll have to go with Origins, just on the basis that it felt more natural, however, the humor in DA2 was entertaining too.

DA2 for me. I found Origins amusing, and the funniest bits from Sten, Oghren and Morrigan. Initially, I liked Alistairs humorous antics, but by the end of my first playthrough, came to hate it (and now completely loathe the whole frelling character), the same of which applied to Zevran (except i never liked him anyway)

DA2, on the other hand: SarcasticHawke, Merrill, Isabela, Varric, Aveline, hell, even Anders and Fenris (two characters I loathe as much as Alistair and Zevran) all have had me, and keep me, in stitches of laughter, even 14 playthroughs on.

If DA2 had Sten and Oghren, I think I would possible die in fits of laughter as they interacted with the likes of Merrill, Isabela and Varric.

It is pretty even, though I have Varric, I miss Sten and Shale. DA3 needs more deadpan.

I prefer the humor in DA2 over DA:O.

DA:O is far from the best example of humor you can find in games, but it seemed less out of place, not so kinky and more fluent than DA2.
I can't imagine a sarcastic line for killing Konnor in front of his mother, for example. That would be just heartless.

Overall, Origins' subtlety was... er... more subtle, and for me this term = better. Anywhere.

Oghren and Alistair stood out. Sarcastic Hawke felt stupid (and not "me" - I couldn't identify with any Hawke for that matter).

DA2 was more like a stand up comedian, he delivers the lines straight and keeps the audience laughing till the shows over. Origins was that one girl who was real quiet but had the greatest sense of humor if you just would sit down and listen to her for awhile. In the end i think its team sarcasm (alistair, sten, morrigan) vs team hawke (Sarcastic! hawke, varric, isabella). (and please, the warden had an excellent sense of humor if you let her, remember the shleets?)

Absolutely DA:O, the humor was more subtle and less forced. I rarely laughed at any banter in DA2, actually, I found most of it uninteresting. Add in priceless situations like DA:O's prison break and it's my clear winner.

I'd have to say DA2, though I think it came at a cost to character depth. Most (not all) of the DA2 companions ended up being far too one-note.

I think they are mostly even with general companion and NPC dialogue.

But, I think DA2 has the upper hand with the main character, because of the purple/humorous dialogue path for Hawke. Humorous options for the Warden weren't as frequent.
