Humor wise which game was better?

DA2 has sarcastic Hawk ... and he's amazingly funny.
I'm going to call it a wash.

DA2 was the same. The companion dialogues were funny. However, you also had a dedicated humorous option which led to the protagonist being funny as well.
So i'd give the edge to DA2.

I think they went a little overboard with Dragon Age 2's humor.
Especially by constantly reminding us that Isabella is a dirty hoe.

That being said, I did like Zevran's conversations with Alistair (if the Warden was romancing Alistair) about *cough* performance-enhancing herbs and the Warden's conversation with Wynne (when romancing Zevran):
Wynne: I wanted to talk to you about Zevran....
Warden: Oh? Were we too loud last night? We'll try to keep it down.
Wynne: (awkward pause) Err. Thank you.

Yeah, that was one of the reasons why I said Origins. The range of material that was funny in DA2 was just limited to me. Isabella was only funny when she was talking about being a hoe. Aveline I didn't find interesting unless she was in a party with Isabella talking about Isabella being a hoe. Isabella is a hoe I get it. Merrill is a ditz I get it.
Only person whose comedy didn't seem forced in your face and over the top was Varric. Origins just had more everyday, subtle humor to me.

Agreed. I thought the "overdoing it" hit a fever pitch in MoTA, but still laughed at Varric's "how come you never take me anywhere nice." Out of nowhere while doing dishes the other day I started smirking at Varric's "..Hawke said angrily" color commentary in Sebastian's quest.Aaleel wrote...

Mary Kirby is a dialogue genius.

And as lovable and funny as Varric is, I often knew what his punchline was before he said it.

This, absolutely. In Dao, more natural and more subtle, not too much. I laughed several times, not at all in MoA.casadechrisso wrote...
Absolutely DA:O, the humor was more subtle and less forced. I rarely laughed at any banter in DA2, actually, I found most of it uninteresting.

There was lots of humour in both games, but then DA2 had Varric and DA:O had Oghren, so for once I'd give the edge to DA2.
I can understand why some people would feel DA:O humour more subtle, but then they praise Oghren and I am left with a blank stare.

Varric: So...you and Hawke?
Fenris: What about us?
Varric: Want to make sure I get all the details right when I tell this story. Did you sweep her off her feet or was it the other way around?
Fenris: I'm not telling you anything but this: There was no actual sweeping involved.
Varric: Every little bit helps, elf.

Some of the troll moments you could do were epic. XD
Especially with quests like "The Long Road" and some of the moments in the latest DLC.
The bee sting, the David Caruso moment, "But the PRIIIZE", etc.

Humor is a lot like swearing; when you try too hard at it and it is overdone, it is very noticeable.

This, and that. And no, not because of Oghren.

Oghren wasn't subtle in character, but the way his extreme nature was applied to the game was totally believable. An out-of-this world character who is a real character and not at all unnatural (I would even say he had some irony of decadence to him).
So, yes, Oghren was totally part of the subtlety in DA's humoric writing for me.

Zevran: Such sinister glares do you a disservice, dear Morrigan. Yours should be a face that smiles.
Morrigan: Do tell.
Zevran: Has no one told you? Perhaps that is not surprising, considering you have lived such a sheltered life. Were you a woman of the city, you would be accustomed to men showering you with praise and gifts.
Morrigan: I know as much of men as I need to. I know when one is indulging in pointless flattery, for instance.
Zevran: It is flattery only if I exaggerate the truth to please you. I am but stating a simple fact.
Morrigan: Tell me, does this work on other women?
Zevran: I think any woman would like to hear the truth of how her beauty affects a man. Do you not?
Morrigan: I think that sort of manure is best reserved for farming.
Zevran: Ah, one day you will realize that you have wasted your youth and beauty on bitterness and suspicion, mark my words.
Morrigan: Remind me to bring you along if we go sailing. The hot air will prove useful.
───────
(with Leliana/Alistair/Oghren in the party)
Zevran: Has anyone told you what marvelous eyes you possess, my dear?
Morrigan: Again with the flattery? Do you not tire from these pointless exercises?
Zevran: In Antiva, women are accustomed to being showered with the praise they deserve. Men should worship you at your feet as you pass.
Morrigan: They don't find that incredibly annoying?
Zevran: They are goddesses receiving their subjects, just as you should be. Whatever would be annoying about that?
Morrigan: I have no wish to be placed upon a pedestal.
Zevran: But you deserve no less. You should be admired by painters, copied by sculptors, exalted by poets! Surely you know that yours is a beauty so exotic it--it would turn the eye of the Maker Himself!
Morrigan: Well, I suppose I...
(with Alistair)
Alistair: By the Maker! You were right! You win.
Zevran: I think you owe me five silvers, yes?
Morrigan: I hate you all.
(with Leliana)
Leliana: You are a master indeed, Zevran. You win the bet fair and square.
Zevran: Much obliged, madame.
Morrigan: I hate you all.
(with Oghren)
Oghren: Hmph. Fine. So I owe you a flagon. Bastard.
Zevran: Much obliged, ser.
Morrigan: I hate you all.
classic Zev.

But I think DAO wins. Because of Allistair, Oghren and snarky Morrigan.
I can't hear the word "swoop" anymore without hearing "swooping is bad" in Allistair's voice. Although the cameo where he said this in DA2 seemed to almost cheapen the line.
