Male: Leinad, using my name spelt backwards. And it sounds sort of fantasy-ish, at least to me. I use this for my first character in most RPGs. (Except Mass Effect, where just the normal Daniel seemed appropriate).
Female: Nikki, because I just like the name. I named one of my FemSheps Jennifer, after the voice actress Jennifer Hale, so maybe my next Hawke will be called Jo.
What did you name your Hawke, and why?

What, not one of you named any of their femHawkes Ebon (like I did)? For shame. I also used the name Sorsha after a character from the movie Willow (I probably butchered the proper spelling of it, but eh). I also have a Serah Hawke.
Also, I named my male Hawkes Joxer and York. Possible future ames include Hudson and Ham (as inspired by a user on this forum).

Bradon - "From the fertile land on the riverside" (at least according to an ancient baby name book)
I thought it would be fitting, considering Lothering

One of my Hawke's is Gregorius. I liked it's meaning; watchful, observant, sharp. Even though I roleplay him as a lazy, and lecherious mage.
Tor- is the last name of a very evil character from one my favorite Manhwa's. I made this Hawke wonderful and benevolent though.
Deitrich (female)- is the name of a American Christian singer. I was watching one of his videos one day it was rather poorly made and I found it hilarious.
Devika- I really liked meaning for this name (Goddess-Indian). I gave her a weird palette(white hair, dark skin, glowing eyes). Just to make her name fit.
The rest of my Hawkes have rather common French Creole names. Celestin(male),Joslyn, Sanite(female), Serafine, Finnley, Rumena, Alexandrine, Celino, Laurent.

Male warrior: Pelleas Hawke (pronounced pell-a-us).
Named after a character in a game called Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. He's actually a dark sage, which has nothing to do with swordplay. I thought it was cool (and I'm pretty sure it is!)
Female mage: Astra Hawke.
I love the name, and I think it's fitting of a mage.
Male rogue: Trent Hawke.
Named after a character in a show called Daria. Daria's a bookworm/nerd just like Merrill, and she had a major crush (probably her only crush) on a guy named Trent. I knew I'd romance Merr, and both she and Daria can be strongly associated with the colour green, as can this character Trent. My rogue can too, though he never wears green like they do. But he is down to earth, and I wanted his background picture to be green because of that.

Sorry if this is double posting, which it probably is, but it's of a slightly different subject.
Want to know the funniest name to give Hawke? It's this:
Iona Hawke
(Pronounced i-oh-na)

Female Hawkes-
-Khestrel: Purposefully misspelled because she's a re-purposed character. I just thought the name would be funny.
-Rowan: Eh, why not? It's a nice name.
-Elphaba: I actually don't like Wicked all that much, I just liked the name.
-Leighton: Another nice name.
-Isolde: My roommate had just watched Tristan & Isolde, and I thought it would make a nice name for a Hawke.
-Kari: I was watching Mythbusters and the name got stuck in my head.
-Nymphadora: Tonks went by her surname, too.
Male Hawkes-
-Aries: The God of War/The Ram/I needed a jerk male character.
-Lucien: A fun name, and I was on an Oblivion kick at the time.
-Solomon: My "peacekeeper" who had a high friendship score with everybody.

Male Hawke
Apollo (Mage) Twin of the Greek goddess Artemis, a fun loving and charming fellow. Cannot take anything seriously.
Female Hawke's
Artemis(rogue) Twin of Apollo, very kind personality
Demeter(rogue) Goddess of Agriculture and grain, half caring, half humorous
Hestia- Goddess of the Hearth, mostly humorous
Hecate(Mage) Hecate is the Greek goddess of Magic, so it seemed fitting. Humorous all the way

Aside from Mass Effect, I tend to name all my characters variations of Joan, particularly gaelic variations. My Hawkes are named Sean, Joana, Iona and Siwan. Same as my Dovakhins, Revans, Exiles, Spirit Monks, and one Shepard.

My first Hawke was Nemanja Hawke, named after one of my favorite footballers, Nemanja Vidic
Other Hawke's: Aiden, Kelly, Titus, Sebastian ... named after characters that I write.
Xander: I just liked the name, and needed something fresh since I would be romancing someone BESIDES Fenris for the first time
Eirik: Just striking out with something totally new; was tired of using my own characters' names.

Canon- William- 'will', 'determined' or 'resolute' by its very definition. And I roleplayed Hawke as an aggressively determined Viscount who got things done and wasn't going to change his mind. He supported the templars due to his mother's death. He absolutely refused to aid Merrill and her dalliance with blood magic. He chose to support Bethany no matter how many times Meredith threatened. He was determined to love Fenris and free him from the mental bondage Danarius put him in. Of course I didn't have that in mind when I named him but the name fits well.
Other Hawkes-
Male:
Dante- Sarcastic rogue. In my non-official headcanon he's an elf blooded human who desires to know his dalish heritage. He gets his name from his Rivaini-Antivan father (Italian sounding).
Caleb- Diplomatic warrior. Non-official headcanon he's a Grey Warden. He gets his name from a friend who wanted me to give a character that name. Fits him well considering the name is Hebrew for 'whole hearted' and 'devotion', which fits his kind and upright demeanor.
Kieran- Aggressive mage. Non-official headcanon he's Hawke and Warden Amell's cousin and rival because Hawke tried to kill his lover Anders. The meaning of the name is 'black', which fits his cold hearted demeanor, love for blood magic and overall villainous overtone. Plus he's with Anders. That's pretty evil in of itself.
Female:
Catherine- Diplomatic warrior. Greek for 'pure'. Non-official headcanon she's a Templar and wife of Sebastian Vael in a chaste marriage. Being the Greek word for 'pure', Catherine is a name that fits well because she's a devoted servant of the Chantry. She hates senseless violence but believes the Chantry is there to keep order.
Kaelynn- Aggressive warrior. In my head-canon she too is a templar although much darker and more brutal than Catherine. By day she's prowling the Gallows for apostates and by night she's at the Blooming Rose visiting Isabela. Not much to her name other than I liked it and sounds like a Dragon Age character.
Diamelza- Sarcastic mage. Originally intended to spell it as Demelza (but mispelled it due to forgetting the spelling when I played the game). Supposed to be an Irish/Cornish name for 'fort on the hill'. It has no significance to her character, as in my headcanon she's a Tevinter mage and one of Fenris' former overseers.
