Alexander: meaning protector of mankind

Too much of a coincidence. Going to apply for the British Army.

Skylar in the Dutch Origin means Protection or Shelter.

My Hawke is a Spirit Healer. She protects her companions and she defends them when needed.

Athelern was the name of my favourite Warrior Hawke

It derives from the Anglo-Saxon words meaning "noble" and "eagle", incidentally linking him to his family names, both Hawke and Amell.

My first Hawke is Marian and my second is Mariah. Yep, my imagination sucks! My third will probably be Mary...

I have the same problem with my Shepards. They are Jane and Jenny...

My main warrior is named Maurevar. I found it suitable and it honored the nice templar man a bit more! :P

I always give my characters sucky names to explain why people choose to address them by their surname instead of their first name. In Hawke's case, the puns were too tempting to resist.

The mage Red Hawke (who has black hair but an appropriate red favour for Fenris) and the warrior Lady Hawke (whose rather masculine disposition and aggressive personality should explain why she goes by her last name). I wish there was room for a Grey Hawke, but alas, there's no other incentive to play again.

I've got a lot of Hawkes.

Iain Hawke (Anders romancing mage) is my favorite. He was named for an old DnD character who was named on a whim. That DnD character has seen a lot of mileage. His personality was absorbed by a BG/BG2 mod, Gavin, who I renamed to avoid confusion with a character from the Mod for the Wicked, but I never really found a good place to use his name. DA2 let me use the name. He has a few superficial resemblances to DnD Ian (dark hair, pale skin, generally helpful and shy), but the personalities are pretty different.

Viconia. And just because my dalish elf in origin was named Aerie.
In Dragon Age III I'll probably name my character Jaheira.

Solomon. Not for any religious reasons, I just like the name.

I recently discovered that Freya (the name of my Hawke) is the Nordic goddess of love; which did not fit even remotely. On my old PS3 that unfortunately got kind of burnt I couldn't remember the name of my last Hawke, only that I loved it. So, my only option was to select a name that I love. Freya was one of them; I just for whatever reason like it. Later I unfortunately recalled that I had selected Dylan instead, one of my middle names. But I'm not too bothered.

My main pc , a female mage is called Orestes .It's the title of one song from A Perfect Circle. And also a guy from greek mythology.Read on wiki the name can also mean a person "who can conquer mountains"...which is pretty cool.
My warden was named Reznore , which is also the nickname i used on the net and other different video game ( from Trent Reznor , Nine Inch Nails guy) , i had some Hawke named Reznore when i'm feeling lazy.
My last Hawke was a male rogue named Plum , kind of a stupid name .But i was listening to Joana Newsom "Peach , Plum , Pear" song...

Thinking about DA3 , I'm kinda worried with what name i will find out for my pc...I tend to use Reznore for everything but having 3 different pc with the same name in the same game is a bit wierd.

I liked names that started with 'A.' I mean, Mama and Papa Hawke had an alphabet going on with Bethany and Carver, so I thought, their first kid's name probably started with A. My favorites are Ariane and Aladne.

"Maybe". Short for "Maybell" and inadvertently hilarious when combined with her title. I imagine she introduces herself as "Maybe the champion".

My only male Hawke is Gareth because I like it better than Garrett but it's still similar enough.

I have five females:
Marian-used the default appearance.

Catherine, Catelyn, and Lauren- Simply because they all rhyme with Marian. The particular
spellings I used for Catherine and Catelyn came from Wuthering Heights and ASoIaF respectively.

Sabbath Lily- I had to read Wise Blood for a literature class and when we were discussing it I realized Sabbath Lily Hawks >> Sabbath Lily Hawke and spent the rest of the class planning a DA2 character based on the book character.

LOL - Hi Heather! *waves*

My favorite thing to name Hawke is "Sera" - that way it sounds like people are addressing her by her full name when they call her "Serrah Hawke". Image IPB

Hello! *waves back*

The "Serrah" thing is a cool idea, never thought of that. It would be awesome to be addressed by a first name that you choose, but until that happens Serrah will be the closest thing to it.

male: Aedan -- ABC lineup, fitting name for a fire mage, since Aedan means 'fire'.
female: Wren -- Always liked this name, although it is usually spelt Rin I guess.

That's pretty cool seeing as the Hawkes (namesake) and the Amells (the family crest) both have something to do with birds. Wren is fitting.

My Bro Hawkes are Gallagher (because I enjoying saying it in a thick Scottish accent) and Jacquen Chane (I was watching Jackie Chan Adventures way too much at the time), and my Lady Hawkes include Morgaine (King Arthur's Morgana, an alternate name for her which I liked the sound of) and Ellie, which was just a name variation of 'Elliott', a name I give to most of my protagonists.

Tyrius, Jahlynne, Khalia, Zaeed, Garret(I didn't realize I fergot to name him, till Act 2), Valacious.

No particular reason, I just had names pop in my head & liked them. Minus me forgetting about Garret default name for 1, & had to bring representation of one my favorite buddies in ME2, Zaeed.

Mike. Because it sounds funny to claim a lot of Ferelden men are jealous of Mike Hawke. :P
