What did you name your Hawke, and why?

My first Hawke's name was Garret, no real reason, just fit. My second Hawke's name is Marian, again no real reason, just fit. I typically try to give my characters names that fit with the conventions of their culture, background and language. Sometimes, if I really like a character's suggested name, I might stick with it, might not, might derive another name from it.

I don't remember all my Wardens' names right off (got six of them, and an Orlesian one for DA:A I was forced to delete to get under 10 saves), but the first one, the city elf, was named Caelia, with the old English combined ae symbol. Again, just seemed to fit. ;-)

I don't remember.

edit: Aah, now I do recall - though DA2 does not get a special place in my mind - it was Carrie, because she had constantly blood all over her face.

Jotham was my mage Hawke. I took it from one of the kings of Israel in the Bible.
Tiberian was my sarcastic and charming rogue Hawke. Was trying to convince my wife to name our son James Tiberius around that time, thought this was a good variation.

Those were my two favorites.

Pretty sure I left my Hawke's with their default names, as opposed to my Wardens which I gave their own names generally (or my name in my canon playthrough), but Hawke didn't really seem to fit with that, the character was already too pre-defined.

Garion, after Belgarion from David Eddings Belgariad/Malloreon. It also starts with a G, in reference to Garrett, Male Hawke's default name.

::cracks open tome of magic and casts animate dead::

I created several Hawkes: Elissa, Marianne, Elizabeth, William, Robert, and Malcolm II. As for why...well, unlike my Wardens, I do not have a story for the names. I simply thought they sounded pretty.

First playthrough, Magnus (warrior). Why? Because I was reading Northlanders and there was a character with that name and I thought it sounded cool.

Second playthrough, Amelia (mage). It's a sexy female name. That's about it.

Playthrough the third, Leander (rogue). It is the male equivalent of Leandra.

Playthrough IV, Valgrim (mage). Why? Because his (evil) Amell cousin (also a Mage) serves as the import and is named Helgrim, which was inspired by Kolgrim (leader of the Bats*** Insane Andrastean Dragon Cult), hinting at the possibility that Helgrim may have been born in a certain creepy village before being taken to the Circle (*head canon alert*).
